Our server got us everything we could've wanted and she even suggested things we wouldn't have thought of. They were out of their sweet butter, so she brought us everything we could use to concoct our own and honestly, it was better that way because we could adjust it to be exactly to our liking. Server was friendly and manager did all he could to make it right. Which honestly, the butter was the only part that was a tiny hurdle. And it ended up being a blessing. Upon arrival we were greeted and welcomed in very nicely. I brought my daughter here for her birthday and she was excited that they have fried green tomatoes. We got that as appetizer, and they were fried well and tasteful. She ordered chicken fried steak, with fries and she said it was good, also broccoli, she said it was too smushy. I started my order by asking for the fried fish and shrimp, I was told that they don't have any fish, but they can add more shrimp. I decided to get the pork chop with side of squash and baked sweet potato. When waiter brought out our food, she said the sweet baked potato would take about 6 minutes or do I want another side. I said I will wait for it. We were almost done with our food, and I asked can I get the sweet potato to go, and she they forgot, and they can give me another side, I asked if I could get a side price removed. She asked her manager, and they honored it. I saw other guest getting the basked of rolls and I asked can we get some and is there extra charge. Walked in and I was a little hesitate. Dining room had the bright cafeteria look to it. Sat down ordered chicken fried steak. I've traveled all over the country and this has been one of these BEST chicken fried steak I have ever had. Mashed potatoes were perfect and green beans perfectly seasoned. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and added fried mushrooms this time. Oh my goodness! I think the mushrooms are even better than the tomatoes. So very good. This time my husband and I ordered the half cobb salad and cup of soup. He ordered the chicken n dumplins and I ordered the vegetable soup. I also added grilled chicken to my salad. OMG! Hands down one of the best Cotton Patch Cafes I've ever visited! The food was outstanding! Fresh, hot, flavorful and all at a great price. Restaurant was pristine ( including bathrooms) and our servers were knowledgeable and patient (we had two kids in tow). The adults both had the Chuckwagon Chicken...broccoli was steamed to perfect (IYKYK) and the spiced apples were delish. Kids had a cheeseburger and a corn dog; cleaned their plates. To start off we was greeted with kindness by a young man and he bought us to our table then followered by a young woman for our waiteress. our experience with our waitress was great she was very sweet , gave us time to order and made sure we had everything we needed. Just ate here for lunch they have a big option, prices rather high, but the service is good. I got the lunch special for Wednesday, which was the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and green beans. I got a unsweet tea. The meatloaf was not as great look like they just put some ketchup on it and didn't taste too good rather squishy. But they gave us rolls, which is great. We ordered fried pickles for an appetizer they were just fried with not very good flavor. Atmosphere was peaceful. It's very clean good seating. I got the ticket. The unsweet tea is very expensive almost 4 dollars so I'd recommend sticking with the water other than that. Everything else might be OK I'll give it another shot later. read more

Have eaten at this restaurant several times, never a bad experience. Tonight I can't say that. Our food sat under the warmer lights for over 15 minutes. I watched it. Then a young lady, not our server, brought the food and someone else's food to our table. Put the wrong food in front of me. It was loud and if she said what it was I could not hear her. Once our meal finally came out after a lengthy wait, it was mediocre at best. His meal barely had any gravy and the steak was so thick and tough to chew. The pork chop I ordered was good for the first several bites, then as I got into the center close to the bone, it was raw. The manager stopped by our table to ask how things were. Service was slow and only about 5 customers besides us. When they were at the old location this was a better place. The employees here are completely unmotivated to do a decent job. The manager camped out at the table next to ours yakking with friends for a good half hour. The "hostess" couldn't be bothered to sit us at a table that wasn't still wet from cleaning. We snagged some napkins from the table next to ours and dried off the table and the menus that were wet from the table. Our waitress Marion S obviously thought we weren't worth more than the meager half assed job she did. From top to bottom, this place sucks. I honestly think they just boiled it and added no seasoning. The side of sautéed mushroom was a black pile of poo. The only redeeming items in all this was the 2 measly rolls and the delicious butter cake. That stuff was pure bliss. It's been a long time since I have eaten at a Cotton Patch due to poor food. But I was hungry and needed to get something so I stopped. I got seated fast and the order was taken. Chicken fried steak with garlic mashed potatoes and Caesars salad. Sweet tea to drink. Starting with the tea, it was old. Had that tangy old stale taste. The salad was cut and not torn. It was so over dressed that the Romain was flat and wilted with brown edges. You could not pierce the salad with a fork just scoop it up. For the steak. The breading and gravy were great, but when you are given a serrated knife and you can't even cut the steak, the meat should not be served. Almost half of it was so tough you couldn't chew it. Definitely a surprise! I'm visiting Texas and didn't have anyone to tell me what places were good, so we tried this place out based on the pictures and reviews. We were very much satisfied with the service and the food! Our server was super sweet, Gracie checked on us often and our food was brought out very quickly. The fried green tomatoes and cornbread were fantastic and I was almost full before my salad came out, which was also delicious! If you have a small appetite like me, definitely prepare to have lunch tomorrow. I couldn't think of a reason to not give 5 stars, and Gracie was definitely a major reason for that. I got my food and it was not appealing what so ever. My mashed potatoes were so hard they could stand up on their own. Oddly enough, the club sandwich and fries I ordered with this were completely cold. A lot of the items I have tried from here just lack seasoning or has too much seasoning, no happy medium. Do not go here as customer service was terrible. First of all after calling curbside I waited for five minutes before going in and seeing my curbside food sitting on a to go table there waiters were standing around talking. After picking up a to go order I drove home only to find out I was missing a bowl of soup in our order. After calling back they were unapologetic and apathetic towards whether or not they got my order right. I'd recommend any place in Palestine at this point besides here. The Cotton Patch Cafe is a brand new building to replace the old locations building. To be honest they left the good food and the smiling faces at the old location. Inside is quite small and when you talk to the staff it echos. It's annoying and loud in there now. We went there to see the new place and enjoy some of the food we always liked. It wasn't the same. This was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences that I've had. We stopped here with 4 kids and 3 adults at 4pm on a Friday for dinner. The restaurant was not busy yet it took well over an hour to get our food. And they didn't bring out rolls for over 45 minutes. All 4 toddlers ordered Mac and cheese and these came out 15 minutes after the adults' food. We rarely seen our waiter and couldn't get drink refills. Stopped in with family. Took awhile for anyone to seat us although there were 4-5 workers standing there, we didn't get a greeting or anything. Just stood there unsure of if there was a host/ess or not. Kids meals weren't offered their dessert and when we asked they were out. They were also out of kids menus and all soda. Cotton Patch had really gone down before they built their new building, but I was hoping with all the changes things would improve. Not So!!! The wait staff has definitely not improved very unprofessional. I think they need to clean house and train a whole new crew. They definitely need new cooks who really know what they are doing. We had raw grilled chicken again today. I guess it going to take someone getting really ill from the meat not being properly cooked for the owners to finally wake up. I ordered online & had it delivered by DOOR DASH. I got a chicken fried steak (HUGE) and it was cooked just right & tasted GREAT!!! One of the best I've had in a while. Cream gravy & it was good. I ordered mashed potatoes but they were more chunky style. Not what I prefer but they were ok. I also got macaroni & cheese. It was bland tasting to me. Even though it was delivered it still got to me nice and warm. It also came with two large rolls & butter and they were very good. For dessert I got a piece of butter cake. My chicken fried steak wasn't bad. It wasn't anything to call mom about either. The fried okra was flavorless and stale. It tasted like it was prepared hours if not a day ago. The floors throughout the entire dining area and restrooms were really sticky. I just love leaving a place with a souvenir that I didn't ask for attached to the bottom of my shoes.
