Just moved here and visited today for the first time. 1. The restaurant needs a serious cleaning. Those floors haven't seen a broom in a while and I can't imagine how long since they mopped. You have plenty of people standing around doing nothing, teach them how to clean up the damn place. 2. The "cheesesteak" consists of a bucket of pre-chopped and pre-cooked up meat that they pile on bread, put some slices of cheese on it, cover with a little more meat and then throw the entire sandwich in a warmer. Pathetic. 3. There were about a dozen people there when we were. 3 TV's playing, no volume, no music playing, nothing. Total silence. Put a little effort into creating an atmosphere, it's not hard. i'm not surprised when you have children working the counter and making your sandwiches. No one was in that restaurant it was around 3 PM and it took 15 minutes for three people to make my sandwich. Finally I stood up so they could see me and they all stopped talking and actually went back to work. I got my two sandwiches and headed out. Got halfway home and opened up the sandwich realizing nothing that I had asked to put on it was on it. I get it, they were too busy talking and playing around like children do. They belong at nursery school not working behind the counter . The one girl with the long dark hair almost got the fuk knocked out. I was waiting for her to give me one more dirty look and I'd jump over the counter and beat the hell out of her. We've been here twice. Both times were amazing. I'm only 36 years old but I've not had a better sub sandwich anywhere ever. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and added mushrooms, onions, olives, tomatoes and lettuce. This was by far the best one I've ever had. My wife got the antipasta salad and she was impressed beyond belief as well. If you're in the area, or not, you need to try Subs and Such. You will not be disappointed. read more

This used to be one of our favorite places, and I will never be back. The new ownership has ruined this place. The staff is incredibly rude, loud, and childish. Before it took a while to get your food because it was busy, now you still have to wait forever even if you are the only people in the dining room because the staff does not care. Staff is constantly cussing and yelling. They care more about socializing than they do making the food. They stood around and would laugh and crack jokes. Also Staff were coughing all in the air without covering their mouth, washing their hands, or changing gloves. Another staff was running around as if he was on drugs. I am craving a Subs & Such salad. Then remembered that the last one I got was different than usual. The lettuce was not the usual shredded lettuce and diced cucumbers of the past. I have visited S&S many times for subs and never disappointed however I hadn't tried the salads in some years because I was very disappointed in the past. Well I can still say they are a waste of money. I ordered 2 Monterey Salads to go that was to have grilled chicken on them but when I arrived home and opened them I had been given what I think were supposed to be their club salads. Both had maybe 1 slice of ham and turkey and a sprinkle of cheese over iceberg and that was it. I could understand that kind of mistake IF they had been busy but it was very light due to the C-19 keeping people in. I paid 18 bucks for two really bad excuses for salads. S&S you really need to step it up on salads and get the orders correct. read more

One of my all-time favorite sandwich places. They make the best cheese steak I've ever had. Granted it's not your traditional Philly style.. but I wouldn't ask for it any other way. I used to eat here all the time when they were at their former location. I can't say what makes this place so good other than pure sandwich magic. On a side note...since they've moved their service has dropped significantly. The girls that man the front counter and take orders have always been fairly short(personality-wise).. but last time I was there.. they were really just rude. First time trying Subs & Such and all I can say is WOW!!!! I created my own wrap and it was beyond delicious! The food tasted fresh and was made exactly like I ordered. The restaurant was busy when I arrived, which was during lunch hour, but they were on top of it and I had zero wait. I ordered online, which was super easy. A friend got the chicken salad and she could not stop raving about it. Subs and Such is a great lunch time place if you are in Alcoa, TN. The service is really fast so have an idea of what you want before you go in. They have a huge sandwich board on the left hand side and usually a huge line to accompany it. I was a traditionalist that day and just got a turkey sandwich. The turkey was really fresh and I enjoyed it alot. I got a side of potato salad and it had a little twist to it. The potatoes were perfectly diced and not chunked. Subs & Such is the best sub shop ever, and I mean BEST EVER! Anyone who has ever been there loves it, and for good reason! If you like a hearty sub sandwich, on great bread, and great sweet tea you will love this place too. It's simple and just really great. They have a huge menu, so if you are indecisive when it comes to lunch there are lots of options with various breads, tons of topping and deli meat choices, served with a pickle and a pepper all on their bright orange trays, unless you pick up a sub to go of course. They have rotating sub specials along with there other standby subs, or you can create your own, but they also serve pretty decent soups and salads. This place has excellent sandwiches and a TON of different ones. It's nice they serve beer and the prices are great for the amount of food you get. The sandwiches are huge and they do not skimp on the ingredients. I usually have to get a fork to finish off all the stuff that's fallen out of the sides. The only con is the staff. You better know exactly what the fuck you want when the person in front of you rolls out or you get a nice helping of bitch to the face. They have no patience and are very rude even if you can fire off exactly what you want in world record time. There also seemed to be some sort of drama going on with the manager. She was bitching out someone quite loudly in front of a lot of customers. To me, that's something you handle off to the side. This place is a gem. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is so good. Menu offers several hot and cold sandwiches and there is plenty of seating. Don't let the location scare you off. This place is a definite diamond in the rough (really rough). For starters I stopped in during a particularly busy lunch rush and I received fast friendly service! That on its own makes this place worth a visit. I ordered the Turkey Ruben. This bad boy was overflowing with tasty turkey! The bread was soft and the veggies were very fresh. The pickle and peppers on the side were perfect. They even brewed me a fresh pot of coffee upon request. Flew in to KTYS and stopped by Subs and Such for a quick lunch. It's a 9 min drive from TacAir and the drive is easy. The subs were fresh and the service was quick. The price is reasonable- $6.50 for a custom 6" sub with chips/cookie and a drink. There's not much atmosphere but I don't really go to a brunch location for atmosphere. The restaurant appears to be in an old CiCi's pizza space. I will return here if I blow back through town. The staff was friendly and efficient. read more

I'm not sure why you would visit a chain sub shop with a place like Subs and Such in town. They offer a variety of subs, salads and soups. You can get them steamed or leave them cold, (I prefer mine steamed). My favorite sandwich is the Ol Smokey which is turkey, roast beef and smoked cheddar....the cheese itself is worth getting the sandwich. Their prices are great and they just recently started an online ordering system that is easy to use. read more
