The Heating Installer for an Albany based company incorrectly installed a wrong part that caused high levels of CO2 to be emitted. Steve at Blue flame used an analyzer and his years of experience to detect the serious issue and red flagged and shut down the new system. We called the installer, with Steve getting on the phone with them. After the heating company came twice more the problem was fixed. In the mean-time Steve on his own time called my wife and I, concerned for our well-being. Steve also showed up at our house after the problem was deemed corrected by the installer to make sure it was safe and properly setup. Now that to me is well beyond customer service. Steve and every blue flame rep carries a CO2 analyzer with them, even though the unit is costly, because per Blue Flame to properly check a system install without it is cutting corners and creates too high a risk for the customer. I wanted them to pick up their tank that I had been paying $81 per quarter for. They continued to charge me the $81 even though I asked them to pick up their tank because I had apparently agreed to lease the tank from them for 3 full years. Oh well, I guess that's my fault for not reading the fine print when I started buying propane from them. Then, when I asked if they would be refunding me for the unused propane in the tank, they said no. When I objected they again said that provision was also in the lease agreement. So my advice to folks is, don't buy the "we are family" balcony they give you when you sign up and review everything with a fine tooth comb BEFORE you sign anything.
