Burgers & Beer of Corning had about 25 beers on tap, half of them crafts. We had to have a Labbatt Blue, a 4% pilsener, mellow, lightly malty. A good old beer, easier to find here than in Baltimore. One of us likes sours, so we got a Rising Storm Berry Pomegranate It Was Written IPA - Sour. It was a pretty purplish color. The flavor was mostly tart-berries without much that was distinctively either pomegranate or hops. I'd ask the bar not to rely on only this as the sour on tap. But kudos for the adventure of trying a unique local brew! This was a pleasant casual semi-dark bar with as many brew choices as there are hours in the day. Food, too, if you like. Order at the window, pick-up when you hear the buzz. Get buzzed. Mission accomplished.

The bar was empty aside from one guy sitting at the bar. As we walk in we heard the bartender say "f*cking, of course." She then proceeded to stomp around banging things. A server was standing in the dining area And I asked "are you not open, we can go someplace else." She told me "no it's fine, we're open til 8:00 don't worry about that" and gestured at the bar. We sat there until 6:00 listening to her swear and complain that we'd walked in, with no one coming to bring menus or anything. My kids even were like "whys she mad dad I thought they were open." And "why haven't they come to take our order?" We finally just got up and left, as as we did the bartender was just standing staring at us the server who'd told us to come in was sitting playing on her phone,and what looked like the kitchen guy was sitting on a bar stool staring at us to. I thanked them for their hospitality and we left. Definitely wouldn't go back to that unfriendly place.

I love food trucks! I've tried food from a lot of different food trucks... from all over the…read morecountry. And I reeeeeeeally wanted to love the food at My Eva. But you know what? I just... didn't. I've been following them on Facebook for a while, and I finally timed things so that I was free from meetings and could drive over to their location to grab lunch that day (sidenote: I was also at my intermittent fasting window... which meant I was READY to get some tasty food!). I found the My Eva truck at the location noted on their Facebook page for that day, approached the truck, checked out the menu, and ordered a couple different items to sample: a chicken quesadilla, nachos with pork, and 3 al pastor tacos (not the combo, just the tacos). While it felt like service was slow, I'm actually not deducting stars for that. I had read on their Facebook page that they were understaffed and asking for patience, so I expected some delays. Also, a member of the team had asked what car I was in when I ordered and offered to bring the food to my car so that I didn't have to wait in the rain. Wanting to support (somewhat) local, I also provided a 25% tip on my order... which, having now tried the food, feels overly generous. Sadly, I've just never tasted any Mexican food that was so... lacking in flavor. The chicken quesadilla was more oily on the outside than anything (I only ate 3 bites), the pork on the nachos was super fatty/rubbery (couldn't finish the nachos), and there was very little *to* my al pastor tacos (why not throw some *actual* pineapple in there? Or provide different options for salsa... as opposed to watered down hot salsa, etc... and also, flour tortillas that didn't seem stale? That would help). Everything just missed the mark. So disappointing. Maybe something's gone awry due to the staffing issues? I have no idea. I just know that if my food today is indicative of anything, then I won't be back. While I appreciate the pleasant service, there are a lot of other restaurants out there that can offer both pleasant service + quality food. In my experience, My Eva isn't one of them... so I won't be returning. I hope other folks have better lunch with food from this truck than I did. :-/

Classic dogs and sandwiches. And hot dog shop for sale???…read more We got to Jim's Texas Hots in Corning NY (Jun 2026) for one of their great dogs. There's a sign in the window, For Sale? I hope it stays a hot dog place! They have a menu of seven varieties with meat-sauce, onions, sauerkraut, cheddar, even japaleños! Or request your oen set of toppings. The meat-sauce with onions makes a good chili dog. It's their Texas dog, without the mustard. They pile on the sauce generously! Good flavors. I also wanted the Greek Dog with Kalamata olives, pepperoncini, feta, and meat sauce! What a great combo! I love those! Get your dogs here! And if you play your cards right, maybe get yourself a hot dog restaurant :-)

I then picked it up to take the first bite, but something was wrong, i picked it up then the whole thing was completely sloppy and fell apart as a grabbed it, it even stained my brand new shorts, lady was nice but still the food was not fresh like a real hot dog place would have their foods. Either way i went to TRY and enjoy my food it was 10000° inside of the place and just dirty in general, outside the tables were rocky and every time i grab something the table would rock and even caused my brothers drink to fall down. I have been coming here since i was a little lad, it had completely fallen down hill since the main guy hasn't been here that much. Come to think of it, i came here last year, my strawberry shake, was just more like hard icecream in a cup! My hotdog was also grey.
