We're visiting. It's summer (Jul 2026). This place has "beer" in its name. After a drive down from Ithaca NY, we needed a little pick-me-up. Burgers & Beer of Corning had about 25 beers on tap, half of them crafts. We had to have a Labbatt Blue, a 4% pilsener, mellow, lightly malty. A good old beer, easier to find here than in Baltimore. One of us likes sours, so we got a Rising Storm Berry Pomegranate It Was Written IPA - Sour. It was a pretty purplish color. The flavor was mostly tart-berries without much that was distinctively either pomegranate or hops. I'd ask the bar not to rely on only this as the sour on tap. But kudos for the adventure of trying a unique local brew! This was a pleasant casual semi-dark bar with as many brew choices as there are hours in the day. Food, too, if you like. Order at the window, pick-up when you hear the buzz. Get buzzed. Mission accomplished. read more

I'd love to give a review of the food but we never made it to that point. I walked in with my 83 year old father and two kids on a Sunday around 5:40pm when they closed at 8:00pm. The bar was empty aside from one guy sitting at the bar. As we walk in we heard the bartender say "f*cking, of course." She then proceeded to stomp around banging things. A server was standing in the dining area And I asked "are you not open, we can go someplace else." She told me "no it's fine, we're open til 8:00 don't worry about that" and gestured at the bar. We sat there until 6:00 listening to her swear and complain that we'd walked in, with no one coming to bring menus or anything. My kids even were like "whys she mad dad I thought they were open." And "why haven't they come to take our order?" We finally just got up and left, as as we did the bartender was just standing staring at us the server who'd told us to come in was sitting playing on her phone,and what looked like the kitchen guy was sitting on a bar stool staring at us to. I thanked them for their hospitality and we left. Definitely wouldn't go back to that unfriendly place. read more

Big Disappointment! Just wanted a good burger and usually a local place is the place to go ! Not only did we order gluten free buns then have a fried mozzarella stick on it , which means we could not eat it ! Of course i address the issue and i did get a refund but he didn't really have a good reason . My daughter had a milkshake and it tasted off so bad didn't have her drink it . It was slammed for Wineglass Marathon weekend so it took awhile to get our food but once we did we were all very pleased with what we got. They had a lot of great beers on tap so my friends tried some local brews. We enjoyed the burgers and I liked the self-serve condiments so I could add as much or as little as I wanted to my burger. The fried pickle spears were yummy too. The inside was casual table and chairs and big booths seemed like a good place for families as there were many their and I liked that you could order easily at the counter and pay separately- that worked well for our group. read more

After being in the car for 3 hours to get to the Finger Lakes for the weekend, this was our first stop. Very very relaxed place to eat&drink, which on a girl's weekend, was exactly what we wanted. Of course I chose an unbaked Chardonnay to pair with my Mahi Mahi sandwich which was fresh and delicious. My friends got burgers & fries that weren't oily..SCORE! Little did I know this is some sort of chain, as we saw another in Hammondsport,which is where we were staying. Mediocre burger. All I wanted was a good burger and on the tray this one looked like it might fit the bill, but boy did it disappoint! Flat dining hall style patties and a middle of the road. And that was the best part of the meal. My side salad was an odd mix of greens, tomatoes, chickpeas, scallions and olives with shredded cheese. The fries might have been the most disappointing. I decided to stay in Corning, and was craving a burger so stopped in. I sat at the bar and the waitress was fast to take my order I chose a sloppy joe burger, no bun, with cole slaw! The meal arrived quickly, hot and aromatic. I really enjoyed the meal at atmostphere. There were plenty of TVs with the Watkins Glen race, football, volleyball, etc. and lively conversation. I think we've been here enough that it's about time to post a review! TLDR: Worth it if you're in the mood for good beer and a good variety of burgers. The vibe? Think of a pub. It's the best way to describe it... except that they have a kids' menu with reasonable choices and my kids are happy when we walk in. The selection of beer is outstanding. It's a great mix of local and others to choose from. The food? You go there for the burgers and other sandwiches. Poutine burger... yes, please! You order from the bartender and pick up your food at the kitchen window. You bus your own table, but with everything coming on what amounts to small baking sheets, it's a cinch and doesn't take away from the experience. There are fountain drinks and you serve yourself there. There's even a condiment station! You can sit at the bar or bar tables with televisions, or sit more on the pub side with tables and booths, which is relatively quiet. For what it's worth, I brought my visiting family here when we couldn't get a table across the street (different fare), and they quite enjoyed it. With the kids also enjoying it, we've been back more often than planned. Lastly, despite the overall lack of need for service, everyone I've interacted with there has been great. I think it's run efficiently and minimizes their costs so that they can keep offering good food and drinks in a pleasant atmosphere. This place is great. Passing through town on a Monday night with our dog on a trip. Looking for a place to eat they saw us looking in the window. Called us back and said please we are pet friendly!! Glad we went. Besides letting us have our VERY WELL BEHAVED dog with us the food and service were excellent. HEALTHY pours for sure and great food. Can't ask for more. read more

This restaurant was pretty OK. I ordered a chicken Parm and french fries with cheese and bacon bits. The fries were piping hot just the way I like it. The chicken Parm was well seasoned. Maybe just a tiny bit too crisp but overall the food was good. When you come in, you seat yourself and go to the counter and order your food, someone did bring the food out, but I'm not sure if that's the norm but it's pretty much a self service type place, at least it was for me that day. Ordered two burgers from the bar (no waiting staff) and after collecting them from the hatch myself and getting my plastic flat ware (really) I'd say they have shares in a salt mine! A group of 4 of us went for lunch here on a weekday afternoon, order at the bar, pay and pick up. One of our group was impressed by Allagash beer on tap! He is from Maine and really enjoyed it. The food was average, had the chicken wings, dry rub with half spicy chicken and half ranch, they were decent size and ok, a bit salty. The hot and fresh poutine fries were outstanding. One had a spicy chicken patty and it was ok. 2 had burgers, at that time of day they were being prepared med, and that was fine. $58 for all with 2 soft drinks, beer not included. Stopped for dinner on my recent weekend in Corning around 5:00 on Sunday, seat yourself and cool self hand washing station. Place is self service, order at the bar, take a pager then back to another window for pick up. My friend had a burger w/fries and I had the chicken sandwich with fries, both of which were fresh, hot & delicious! I think the total for both meals with my lemonade and her beer were around $40.00 which seems fair. The place itself was clean, kind of funky pub decor with these cool booths in the wall, but fun. So this place has a decent craft beer draft menu, but how hard is that to pull of today? If you are going to specialize in Burgers they should be amazing. These are notably average. Restaurant is self service. Ordered a cheese burger with sweet potato fries. Burger was cooked medium as requested. The meat was juicy and tasty. Fries were good, not greasy. Went on Tuesday, September 14th for lunch. Got a mushroom Swiss burger, with fries. Everything was delicious, seasoned perfectly, done to perfection! It's run a little differently, you go up to the counter to order and you're given a disc that vibrates when your order is ready and you go up to the window to pick up. It's a good pub burger. I've read some of the other reviews here and don't agree with the comments comparing their burgers to McDonald's and Burger King. It's definitely way better, imo. My wife and I are from Texas and in Corning NY on vacation. We stopped here, sat at the bar and had two of their burgers and the poutine fries, along with a couple beers. The hamburgers and fries were ok, about average, and the atmosphere was good, but the service was poor. There were two staff at the bar who were indifferent, at best, to any of their clients. If you connect with your customers they're encouraged to stay, maybe have a few more drinks and spend their money with you. If you don't, they'll leave and find someplace else to be, which we did. We tried the Iron Flamingo, which is next door and we recommend to anyone else that they do the same. read more

This sort of restaurant isn't for everyone--ordering at the bar, picking up your own food, service on metal trays and pretty much being left on your own--but it does have some advantages if you're just looking for a quick meal. I enjoyed the burger, which I dressed liberally at the condiment bar (it includes a variety of hot sauces, ketchup, mustard, mayo, ranch dressing and bbq sauce). The bun (the menu said the buns were brioche buns, but I guess I have a different idea of what that is than what I was served) was the weak point--seemed like just an ordinary hamburger bun, which was a bit on the stale side and was very soggy by the time I finished putting condiments on my burger. The handwashing station near the front door is kind of perplexing, but it was nice to have available after finishing my burger. read more

Hubs & I come to Corning often. I don't like to write scathing reviews but have to share our experience. After a long ride, we wanted a place to have a beer & something quick to eat. Stopped in at B&B since I wasn't as crowded as other places. We didn't see any sign as to when they close. We sat at the bar along with the other three patrons who were there already. The bar back (as a former bartender, I REFUSE to call this individual a bar tender) was busy cleaning glasses and talking to his two friends about the football season. We waited. And waited. And waited. Not even acknowledged. He then walked to our area to ..... put some of the glasses away, not to take our order. Didn't even make eye contact with this bar back. If it was time to close, then tell us. Tell us why we didn't even get a " We're about to close" or any kind of acknowledgment. *ssh*le said nothing except "Good night" as we were walking out. I guess if you're on his friend list you may get a "Hello" or maybe even a drink but if you're unknown you're taking quite a chance. I wouldn't even trust him to handle food. Skip this place and keep walking down Market Street to a better restaurant. Annoying order somewhere at the back of bar and try to get back through the restaurant to pick up. Basically no decor to speak of except a few tv's and music loud enough to make everyone talk louder over. So maybe good food makes up for a less than stellar environment.
