The food was amazing & so was the service. Thanks Hand & Foot for great evening.

But...we got there around 12:00 and there were several people in there but also multiple tables open. The hostess ignored us and went straight to the people that just walked in after us (it was obvious we got there first)- then she didn't even address us or greet us... so we picked out a seat and then menus were brought to us. The guy behind the counter came to get our order- he seemed kind of standoffish. I noticed we also got a different presentation of food with chips in a paper bag rather than plated with our food like the others? The food seemed to be good but honestly was overshadowed by the uncomfortable feeling we were being treated differently? We were the only people of color during that time- and all of us felt like that could've been a factor... Otherwise, I try to stay impartial- so the vibe was cute and the food was good- but the experience was not comfortable

So I have been on the hunt for the world's best fish and chips. My spouse and mother in law…read moreinformed me that in NY and PA, on Friday's, everyone has a fish fry. I decided to give this place a try given that I can easily walk there, and I am glad I did. I'll say, it's better than any I've had while I lived in Florida, and rivals some of the best I've had in backyards of Friends in my home state of Tx. The batter encased the fish and maintained its crunch, while the fish itself was stayed moist and flaky throughout the meal, which is a difficult feat to accomplish. Especially when you consider the mountain of fries cooked crispy just like I asked, and the plate of onion rings that had the most satisfying crunch. Everything was seasoned properly, and most importantly, they had Heinz ketchup. The service was excellent, and I wish I was better with names as I would thank them. The music was a little loud for my liking, but it was good music that listen to, however it's a sports bar and grill and it was a Friday night, if I wanted something with a cozier ambiance I should have went there instead. So, I won't let my personal volume preferences determine what a sports bar and grill should do. Despite the volume, I could still hear myself think and have a conversation on the phone with no problem. I myself am just sensitive to noise. So where do I rank the meal, I would give it a 4.2 of 5. Considering that I am an excellent home cook and rarely find a place where they serve something I couldn't prepare better myself, this is an excellent score. Also considering I've been on this quest for 6 or seven years now, this is one of the highest ratings I've given. I will definitely be returning, and will assess again to make sure that score was not a "fluke."

We sat in an inside booth but it was very sunny and there were no shades on the window so our friend had to wear his sunglasses at the table. Huckleberry is a more-tart relative of the blueberry, and is notoriously difficult to farm. There was so much fruit here that we couldn't really say it was the dominant flavor. Quite nice. Nice red hue, too. Wait ... "Berry Man"-ilow? Not sure of the intended implications. It seems to get sweeter as it warms up. I still don't get the name. Wachusett Blueberry Ale was a less-tart and more malty brew. This to us was more beer that fruit-punch. So one of liked the first, and the other liked this. There were maybe a dozen more drafts to choose from. The bar was pleasant, bright, and relaxing.
