If you're stopped in Fort Stockton and looking to eat, the smart money's on Tacos OJ. The food's delicious!! But we were trying to get from central Texas back to LA in under 2 days. So there wasn't much time for pauses and waiting. My youngest daughter took an $11 sandwich and with a little guac and some extra cheese accidentally turned it into a $17 sandwich. She ate half of it and set aside the rest threatening death or dismemberment for anyone bold enough to snitch a bite. She then forgot about it. And a couple days later and much soggier she offered it to me. Well thanks Baby!! At nearly $8 it felt like a waste not to eat it. These new owners care! We came in on Christmas Eve very hungry after a terrible experience at another fast food place in Ft. Stockton. They were kind, professional and just appreciative of our business. Apparently they just recently purchased this business within the last week and are excited to make it work. The food is very fresh, the store is extremely clean and they were so polite and friendly. This is what small town service is supposed to be! Thank you Subway! If you want Subway, and you are in a hurry traveling throughout the United States, don't buy it here. It's really really really really slow. It took 20 minutes for my family to get our sandwiches. We were THAT much in a hurry. hehehe Traveling from Texas to California is hard. Being in a car all day, you want to get to the furthest location possible going back home. I wanted my sandwich with avocados, but each tiny, minuscule scoop was 50 cents. Rip offs. But, I think they forgot to charge me. haha They also added too much mustard to my sandwich. There was a ton of mustard coming out of my sandwich. But, my sandwich was pretty good. At least I'm not coming back here. I'm not sure how the citizens in this city feel about this Subway. We were a big group walking into the restaurant, and I know that it's difficult to have a job dealing with customers. Though this one worker shouldn't have expressed his feelings so much towards us. He said racist remarks towards us and many other things that shouldn't have been said in front of customers. The other workers were great, though we could tell they were slightly frustrated with the great amount of customers. read more

I ordered a footlong BLT, all the veggies were cry fresh, quite crisp in fact. I eat at subway quite a lot actually, and I do so because I love Subway's fresh delicious food. The food was as fresh as i have ever seen at a subway, so I don't think these guys deserve the negative reviews that they are obviously getting -although it is possible it is now under new management. Everything about this place shouts five star except the bread might have been a tad stale, and when I stated I wanted it untoasted, they forgot or misunderstood, so it was toasted anyway, making it harder. Not sure what everyone is complaining about beyond them being a bit slow. I'd much rather they take it at a moderate pace to get my order right than make me feel rushed. Both times we have had delicious, fresh food and been served by friendly, courteous employees. Obviously they have cleaned house since all these bad reviews came in. Possibly the worst subway ever and that is saying something. Stopped in today for wrap that was disgusting. It was made so poorly and fell apart as soon as I open it in my car. Decided to stop in here for another try. We pulled in around 5:30pm, we were the only vehicle there. We walked inside and there was trash everywhere. We stood waiting for an employee to come out and help us for about 10 minutes. We finally realized the two guys working there were standing outside staring in at us while they took a smoke break. We finally decided to leave because they didn't seem in a hurry. That and the horrible state of the store and the flys crawling in the open food containers really turned us off! read more

The line was long, 20 minute wait to order, but that's to be expected when everyone was snowed in on the freeway forever. Family before me had to order footlongs and everything and it was obvious that they did not need them. I ordered a 6 inch meatball when I got it it was not hot may be lukewarm. No ice in ice machine and the water was not working in the dispenser. I asked for soup they didn't have any. Our family was passing through fort Stockton to get to San Antonio and stopped for some quick sandwiches. Apparently fast was a joke cause it took tenish minutes to get two foot Long sandwiches. Food was fine the first day, went back the next day and my flat bread was YESTERDAYS bread. It was stale and broke as soon as we picked it up. One (the skinny guy) of the 3 guys that was working when we went in was friendly and clean. The other 2 are a little rude (unfriendly) and sloppy. The chubby white girl that works there is a... lets just say She is VERY rude and treats the customers like crap, she should work at Dick's last resort instead. They, except the skinny boy were on their phone and snapchatting with their phones on LOUD while i and other people were ordering our food. As we ate i watched a guy (who must be her friend) come in the door and get the 5star treatment from the RUDE girl. Wow rudeness prevails I couldn't believe how rude the little girls were that made the sandwiches and the girl ringing it up wouldn't even speak she just stares at you the drink fountain was out of everything and spitting as you tried to use it rude girls didn't care. This place is a joke when it comes to customer service! The owner must have some type of training class that teaches the employee that the customer is never right and the customer is indebted to the employee for the hounor of them preparing there sandwich! This is the SLOWEST Subway in the world. You guys are on a fairly major road and on one of the most traveled holidays, you have three people working. I saw at least 4 groups leave; it took close to 45 minutes to get our sandwiches. We would not have waited if we knew you were fixing a large call in order. Shame on you. read more

Seriously, these bad reviews are somewhat unwarranted. My daughter and I stopped in for a salad and a sub. Completely satisfied. The restaurant is clean, the people were friendly, and they were diligent in their efforts. The speed of service in s subway is almost entirely dependent on the speed of the people ordering in front of you. Don't let the low reviews scare you off. Good food, good service. It's rare you see a Subway that stands alone not connected to a larger gas station or strip mall. Fort Stockton's got one andd it's a quirky family friendly spot with a cool laid back staff. However this particular Subway does not stand alone food wise. Stale bread, soggy spinach, and less than fresh avocados. Skip this one. read more

I've sworn off Subway a few times. But after driving around this miserable town and finding all the "top rated" places either closed or completely unappealing, we settled for sandwiches from Subway and beers back at the hotel room. At least the relatively cheap dinner tab helped offset the hosing we took at the local Hampton Inn. read more

I agree with what some of the others have said, given the area, this place was actually really nice. I was in and out quickly the employees were as professional as you can expect for the area and the place was clean. They even had the tables pulled out where they were cleaning behind them while I was there, I'm assuming because they were slow. It was a Saturday around 5 PM. Driving thru wanted something that compliments a hot summer day. This establishment had 3 young people working. I was very surprised how clean it was. Staff was not that personable but didn't care.
