Update 1/24/26: I can't remember the last time I gave a food establishment a 2 star rating. I ordered again via Uber Eats & the driver was really communicative about letting me know that they were out of the multi grain bread for my footlong tuna sandwich. Yet after I received my order, I opened my sandwich & found it to be sloppily done. Barely any pickles, olives & random TINY pieces of banana peppers... & NO provolone cheese! I had to go into my kitchen & pull some cheese out of the fridge to put on my sandwich! I did not pay $20 for this! At least they toasted it this time as I had asked in my prior delivery order, when they didn't. Excuse the darker photo. I wasn't feeling well today & had the curtains drawn at home. I rarely leave a 3 star or less review. But this review isn't about the food; food is always great here, no complaints there! This is about a KEY PART of the SERVICE. I was on the UberEats app yesterday in the process of putting an order together. I usually order the cookie box along with my sandwich & after remembering that they usually start to run out of cookies later in the day, I decided to give them a call to confirm whether they actually had certain flavors available. I tried to call in TWICE around 6pm & both times, the phone just rang & rang & rang... this is not the first time I've tried to call in either & there's no answer. Same thing has happened other times too & from there, I generally lose interest in ordering altogether, as I don't end up finding out UNTIL AFTER my order is delivered & I look in my bag, that they didn't have or were out of what I wanted. With that said, I know they're not the busiest of stores, because I've ordered at different times & I've even sat inside to eat. The store location is sort of tucked back in a corner of the shopping center with very low or slow foot traffic. Not answering the phone though, loses business & the only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 4, is because it's happened multiple times. read more

Made a MISTAKE going into this establishment this morning. I had just left an appointment at a Dr's office nearby and my mom wanted a BMT sandwich. Today there were 2 female employees there. The employee that my complaint is about had on a SUBWAY JERSEY WITH THE NUMBER 30, she REALLY had an attitude and seemed like she didn't want to be bothered! I have experienced attitude in the past at this same restaurant where the employees seem to not want to be bothered ! if it was my choice I would NEVER go back ! When I walked in I asked , what type of bread do you have available today? After repeating myself twice , she replied Italian and wheat. I ordered a six inch BMT sandwich then after she started assembling the meat and cheese , I decided that I wanted another sandwich. She started throwing the leftover meats back into the container like she was upset. I then decided I wanted another sandwich since it looked so good. She then grabbed a loaf of wheat bread and I asked her , what kind of bread is that? She VERY CURTLY SAID ITS NOT YOURS... ITS FOR AN ONLINE ORDER! Why would she start an online order when a customer is standing right there ?!? Then she started REALLY having a bad attitude! Rolling her eyes etc. so I asked her if she was the manager ? She said no, she tells me WHY do you need a manager ? So I told her because of her attitude! She then started mouthing off to me so I told her, stop talking to me . I could go on and on because it didn't end there! Please if someone knows the owner/ manager , please inform them! THEY ALSO DON'T CHANGE OUT THEIR VEGETABLE CONTAINERS. I SAW THE EMPLOYEE JUST ADD A NEW BAG OF FRESH LETTUCE TO WHATEVER WAS STILL IN THE CONTAINER! THEY ALSO TRIED ADDING OLD.. ( SO OLD THAT YOU COULD SEE THROUGH) CUCUMBERS ON MY SANDWICH!! This review mainly pertains to the service at this particular location, as Subway is Subway...so, it's expected that the quality of the food would be the same at every location. The service here desperately needs improvement!! My brother, his GF, and I walked in wanting to order 3 sandwiches: a footlong BLT, a 6-inch seafood, and a child's turkey sandwich. However, we only ended up leaving with the BLT & the child's turkey. The ladies working that day were not only rude, but also incredibly slow. We had to repeat our order about three times. And after ordering the turkey sandwich, my brother intended to order his 6-inch seafood sandwich. But, they immediately ran to the back for what I assume was their lunch break, and pretty much refused to take his order. Not to mention, they made 2 workers in training finish off our order...So, you can imagine how confused the 2 of them were. They weren't even sure who the sandwiches belonged to. In my opinion, whether it's time for your lunch break or not, you should always complete the task at hand first before you leave & not let someone else finish it for you!! read more

When we vacation, we really prefer to avoid chains and hit spots unlike anything we have at home. However, there are several great things about the Waimea Kauai Subway: prices are about the same as the mainland, service is fast so you don't waste much vacation time on your meal, and it is easy to take a good lunch with you to the beach. We had $3 sandwiches here that we took to the beach and on our kayak trip. We were intentionally trying to not spend too much on our trip and Subway helped us do that nicely. One interesting note, the island uses paper, not plastic, so bring your own cooler or plastic bag if you need to keep your sandwich from getting wet. This one was hard to find, as we were routed near the river. It is in the Safeway center, just north of Foodland. It is near the Starbucks and ABC store. read more

Seriously. The absolute WORSE subway on island. 1/2 the employees can't read your orders on the app... how hard is your job? seriously... I order on the app and 9 out of 10 times. They mess it up. I have no clue how when it's printed out on paper. I order the chicken salad which is such a joke but because I work from home, I can't always go pick up lunch elsewhere. I have to have people pick up my food for me. Ordered a salad today. Said EXTRA LETTUCE. I had MAYBE 5 bites of lettuce. The rest of this shitty $10 salad was chicken that wasn't chopped or cut. I ordered a flat bread with cheese which I do at all subways. They put such little cheese on it that it was mostly flat bread with a little cheese sparsely spread around. When I asked for a little more cheese they said I must pay $.50 more. I agreed to the $.50 and argued with them a little bit about it. I cannot believe how little cheese they put on the sandwich. We all come to Subway because we know exactly what we're going to get: a predictably mediocre sandwich which is healthier than eating other fast food options. Let's be real about this and give a nod to a chain restaurant that offers a quick option on those days when you don't want to be adventurous. It's super hard for us to eat healthy when we're traveling or in a rush, so Subway is the obvious choice for me and my hubby. The store was clean, they got the job done quickly, but I docked two stars because they gave me the wrong cookies with my meal. I love, love, love their oatmeal raisin cookies! They're the 200 calorie reward for eating a boring healthy turkey sandwich filled with vegetables. When I opened up my cookie bag to find white chocolate macadamia nut staring back at me I cried in anguish. My husband was stoked but I was furious because I felt like I got completely gipped. It's really the little delights in life that truly create our happiness, and that oatmeal raisin cookie was my little delight. Your typical subway but the service was friendly. The ingredients were fresh and right now they are running a 2 footlong sandwiches for $9.99 after 4pm (or is it 5pm?). That makes it an easy and cheap eats for my husband and I cuz we stay really close by and it's something we can grab easily to take back to our hotel room. read more

When I reached the register to pay for our meals, and pulled out my debit card the cashier picked up the tip jar and shook it in my face. As far as Kauai Subways - this is the best one! They are good to their customers and don't charge extra for vegetables (like Lihue). They also make their sandwiches like what you are used to and expect. Clean. Good mainland chain kind of cheap grinds! read more

So we went in to get a subway sandwich while staying in kapaa. The person that took our order was veeerrry slow. I askew for roast beef in my 6 inch and the person put in 2 small slices (she said that's how much they give). Then my friend asked for olives on his salad and the employee put in 2 pieces!!! Yes!!! 2 pieces! He then asked if she could put in a little more and she said that she would charge him $1 extra. He got mad but then agrees. The employee put in 4 more pieces. Then when my friend asked for egg white on his salad she gave him half a piece when on the mainland they would give I'm a full piece. Horrible service and Alamo more expensive than the mainland and I love subway. Never coming back again!!! I give it 2 stars because subway is subway and its good. read more

Terrible service. They only had Italian and flat bread. The lady had like three teeth and I couldn't understand a word she said. I asked for my sandwich to be toasted and they looked at me like I was nuts. I asked for pickles, and the lady out literally two little pickle slices on my sandwich. I asked for more, and she put one more slice. I asked her like three more times to put more on before she finally had a decent amount of pickles on the darn thing. read more

Food quality is on par with all other subways. The problem is that they keeep running out of bread and other important ingredients. Today only two types of bread available and no avocado ("still frozen")-- which was whole reason for the visit thanks to the advertising campaign. We stayed at Plantation Hale on Aleka Loop so this place was close. We had 3 vegetarians in our group and since its difficult to get veggie food in Kauai we ended up here twice in our 10 day stay. The service was okay with some ladies not speaking or understanding proper English. They loaded enough veggies as we asked for more on some of them. The second time we visited was the morning of our flight. Since flight food is expensive and crappy we got 2 sandwiches to go. I got the Tuna and had it in the plane. It went a bit soggy but that was expected. Prices were decent as mainland ones. read more
