Jersey Mike's subs are among the very best despite them being a chain. They slice the meats and cheese as they prepare you order. This particular location consistently has great service. I've tried a number of their subs, but my favorite is the Mini #13 The Original Italian - "Mike's Way", with the addition of sliced green peppers, banana peppers, and the "Juice" (oil and vinegar) on the side. I always get the juice on the side to keep the sub from getting soggy and dripping all over everything!

Great customer service, nice clean restaurant, Got the Cheesesteak sandwich nice and seasoned and good portion 8 out 10

Jersey Mikes is my favorite sub chain. This one tends to miss more than most, though. We've ran into long waits, the mobile orders take a while, and often the orders are wrong. Last night we had a to go mobile order...unfortunately they skipped the rosemary parm part of the order and gave us plain white bread.

The GOAT of all subs is jersey mikes. It's expensive but it's worth it and you're getting what you pay for. I always get the Italian. This location was friendly and clean !

Fast & friendly service. Folks got mini #8 Mikes Way. They loaded them with meats & toppings. I got a #17 add jalapeños. Super fresh bread. Sorta pricey even with a free Philly with points. Wish i could stay longer in NC to decompress for deployment & eat at delicious local owned joints like JM. I'm a fan.

Very clean location with an awesome and friendly staff! The sandwiches are always served with the freshest bread and possibly one of the largest sandwiches, if you order the big boy! I am very fond of the cheesesteak that due to the flavor and freshness! This is a smaller restaurant but definitely not a location to pass up if you want a fresh sub. They do have TV's if you are wanting to sit for a bit while you eat and also found the restrooms to be very clean.

Every time I get a sub from here my bread is mushy from all the vinegar on it. They put way too much on there that it becomes overwhelming.

It's a small space - a few tables inside and a few tables out - but don't let that or the line you are likely to encounter deter you. They crank out sandwiches quickly here. Said sandwiches include about two dozen hot and cold offerings as well as the ability to build your own. The meats are Boar's Head, but the desserts and soups are made fresh in-house. Check out the display case for salads and sides that might catch your eye. O'Brien's prides itself on its Reuben, and so I went with the "mini" version (a quarter rather than a half pound of meat) with a pickle for my first visit here. Ordering at the register was a breeze, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of the tables for dine-in. Though I was a bit skeptical that the Reuben would match the hype, it delivered. I don't know that it is without a doubt the best version I've had, but it is definitely up there. The grilled rye was nice and crisp, and I appreciated that they used both mustard and Russian dressing. That, plus the meat, kraut, and melty cheese, made for a very satisfying bite. At $10, the sandwich proved a good value, too. Unpretentious and nostalgically comforting (for Northern transplants, at least), O'Brien's is a well-oiled sandwich-slinging machine. Though that Reuben will be hard to top, I look forward to giving one of their other offerings (maybe a Cuban, maybe a Spicy Italian) a try.

When anyone asks me where to find the best reuben in Winston, I tell them go to the place that proudly proclaims in their window that they are "The Home of the Reuben" and can back it up... O'Briens! It's a small place, a few outdoor tables, and probably 6-8 inside. They do a lot of to-go business, for good reason. The lunch crowd will never shy away from a sandwich here... of which I have had several. But the reuben indeed stands alone. One of the keys to their success is a happy and engaged staff. The owner, Josh, realizes this and takes great care of them. He believes his success should also be theirs, and that is evident in their demeanor. On to the Reuben. Why is it so good? The pictures really say it all. Corned beef stacked high, with a good ratio of kraut, swiss cheese, deli mustard, and grilled Jewish rye bread. Visually impressive, leads perfectly into orally outstanding. You'll be full and happy, and wondering why you'd order it anywhere else. Not to mention, check them out around St. Patrick's day for traditional Irish stew!

It was a busy lunch hour when we pulled in, but still able to find parking without difficulty. Several copies of the menu are taped along the booth partitions that create the order line walkway. Lots of options, and I went with the TJ's Club Special. Order taken and paid for at the front counter, and we selected a table near the front window. The place was definitely busy with both takeout and dine-in orders. Restaurant was well-lit, comfortable, and clean. Mishap #1, we noticed a lot of other order numbers being called besides ours so my wife went up to inquire and it somehow got labeled with a different patron's name and put off to the side. Hey, mistakes happen and the order contents itself were accurate. My wife got the half-sandwich and soup and made the comment that the soup was nice and hot. My Club sandwich was PACKED with meat like you'd expect if your grandma had made it. I got my sandwich with their pasta salad and it was delicious. Mishap #2, we were hoping to use the restroom before leaving but it was labelled "out of order". For all I know, a plumber might have been dispatched, but this is one of those things I would think you need to take care of ASAP when offering a dine-in option. TJ's is definitely a must-try for a great deli sandwich.

It was hot and delicious although I felt the tortilla wrap was a little stiff like maybe they didn't warm it before adding the ingredients. My husband got an Italian Hoagie. He had them take off the 1000 Island and add mayo instead. He enjoyed it a lot. We also got a side of Onion Rings to share. The first thing we noticed was how dark in color they were and also the abundance of seasoning. My husband took a bite of one and immediately started coughing because of the super salty flavor of them. Having a long history in the restaurant business, we could tell they were re-fried and obviously re-seasoned. He returned them to the counter where they gave us a fresh batch without a problem. The new ones were visibly much better however, as long time customers of TJ's we noticed how much thicker the breading was than it used to be. I was disappointed the batter was so prominent I couldn't really taste the onion. I think they either changed their breading or changed the way they bread them. I wasn't a fan though so I will hesitate to order any breaded items from now on. The dining room, as always was bright and clean bustling with customers eating lunch. The service is nothing but friendly there every time we visit as well. I will continue to frequent TJ's Deli.

Sadly, they were not good at all. We requested them crispy but they weren't deep-fried enough to be crispy when we got them. We ordered both the Greek and Jerk flavors. The Greek wings were covered in what seemed like Greek salad dressing, making them very watery when we opened the container. They also lacked the bold Greek flavor we were expecting. We actually ended up sprinkling some Greek seasoning we had at home on them to bring out more flavor. The Jerk wings were better and did have some flavor but they still weren't bold enough for our taste. Since we really enjoy the restaurant's Greek dishes, we had high hopes for the Greek wings in particular. Unfortunately, neither flavor was a hit for us. We'll probably stick with our usual menu favorites next time.

As the name suggests, this is still an operation focused on takeaway dining, though there are some tables available on the sidewalk outside. I'd end up taking my food home on this trip though. Once again I decided to sample the Chicago-style hot dogs offered here. And there have been improvements since my first visit. The product now comes on an actual poppy seed bun, as it should. I don't think the bun was steamed though and that hurts the texture. The hot dog itself had a good snap and taste, and the through-the-garden toppings were loaded well onto the bun. Something's still missing about the overall taste though, as these simply don't measure up to other Chicago-style hot dogs I've had -- including many far away from Chicago. The build of the sandwich looks closer to being correct than it did five years ago, but the flavors are still wrong, and I wish they'd work to figure out what it is they're missing. I placed my order on site rather than calling it in, and the young lady at the counter was pleasant. It took a little longer than I'd expected for the kitchen to prepare my order; maybe they just don't get many requests for the Windy City dog and they're just not well versed in putting it together? This latest experience leaves me scoring Joe's somewhere between two and three stars, and though the food was better than last time I still lean towards the lower side of that range. Maybe their more Carolina-themed food would be better and result in a higher rating, but there are already plenty of places I can go locally for a hot dog fixed "our way," many of which would be at a more competitive price point and with better options for drinks and seating. I wanted to try Joe's because of the hot dog options they have that aren't widely represented elsewhere in this area, and in those respects I still can't find much to love here.

I especially like the Chili Dog with mustard and onion, the Chicago style dog, and a simple dog with mustard and kraut! The Ribs are very nice, tender and loaded with flavor. There are plenty of tasty sides, and I love the Street Corn, the Collards, the Fried Okra, and Mac & Cheese. Joe's is the type of locally owned restaurant that I love to support. The food and service are first rate. Because it has little street visibility, it's location, is small with no inside seating, and is take out, a number of folks will never give this place a visit, and that's a shame. The burger here is as good as those at Alex's, Bobo's, Mr BBQ, and Dairi-o. The hot dogs are as good as those at Dairi-o, Mr BBQ, and Kermit's, and very close to those at PB's. The Beef Brisket is as good as any in the area, and far better than the vast majority. I highly recommend and hope you will visit.
