The white bbq sauce had zero flavor and the overall sandwich was dry. The bacon was obviously made hours ago, all you could taste was the congealed fat. The garlic fries were lukewarm at best and definitely not made to order. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak, that had more flavor from the peppers and onions at least but the tri tip should have been the star and it was just ok. He got the sweet potato fries and they weren't fresh either. And the soda was flat also. $51 mistake. The first time we went here, it was better.

I wanted to keep it simple, so I went with turkey and provolone on a multigrain footlong bread, lightly toasted. While everything tasted as expected for Subway, I gotta say the bread wasn't smushed and held its shape better than most subway's I've been to in the Bay. I do have to say though, the veggies didn't look fresh. The lettuce and spinach looks a bit sad, but it did what it needed to do. $13-14 for a footlong turkey sandwich, I guess that's just what it cost nowadays. Far cry from the OG $5 footlongs but at least they have daily specials which are the best way to get the most for your money.

The pickle lemonade was a bit much for me flavor wise, but we ended up crushing some strawberries at home, and making cocktails with it. Really tasty and great summer drink. Talk about a hidden gem! The Grove is one of those places that if you know, you know! There's nothing particularly fancy about the interior of the restaurant, but every member of the staff makes you feel like a guest at their table. Steaks are their specialty at The Grove and are procured from a local cattle rancher. Each piece is specially hand-cut. My husband and I each had the ribeye special and it didn't disappoint.
