The pickles are not like other pickle brands I've ever had. The brine taste isn't powerful but just perfect. The meal came with fries but I passed on that because my husband dumped the sauce that came with it and I hate that. But the sauce is definitely worth the dipping, i can't compare it to anything but ask for extra . We took it home because we had been out for awhile and it was still delicious. It was well worth navigating the detours. I ordered my go-to: a Double-Double Protein Style, crispy fries, and a strawberry shake. The burger was everything I expect from In-N-Out--fresh, juicy, and loaded with crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, onions, and their signature spread. Going Protein Style lets the quality of the beef really shine. The fries were cooked just the way I like them--crispy on the outside while still hot and tender inside. I even managed to finish every last fry, which doesn't happen very often! The strawberry shake was thick, creamy, and the perfect way to finish the meal. One thing I appreciate about In-N-Out is the consistency. Whether I'm stopping in Texas or somewhere else, I know exactly what I'm going to get: fresh ingredients, friendly service, and one of the best fast-food burgers around. In-N-Out is simply awesome and they now have some 40 locations across Texas. Mrs. K. and I stopped in because I saw the big neon sign tower from the highway and could not resist. After parking (because the Sprinter won't fit in their drive through), I ordered at the counter. it was busy at 6:30pm on a weekday so it did take about ten minutes before my number was called. That gave Mrs. K. enough time to drain a first cup of sweet tea and send me for a refill. I picked up my burger and brought it back to the table. A "double double" which comes with two burger patties and two slices of cheese plus the other great stuff, along with a small basket of fries. Mrs. K. isn't eating meat these days so while I enjoyed the heck out of this hot and delicious burger, she consumed about half of the fries. A couple of things to keep in mind, that I had forgotten. In-N-Out has a great secret menu. You can order our burger "animal style" which adds mustard grilled beef, extra pickles, extra grilled onions and extra sauce (it's like Thousand-Island dressing).
