One of the best subways that I have ever been to. Extremely clean and the food was very fresh. Friendly staff. The cheddar and broccoli soup was awesome.?

This place prepares Subway meals as you would expect. The bread and veggies are fresh. The staff moves at an efficient rate, although the ladies behind the counter lack a bit of charm. This place is run by East Indians, and they don't have an interest in running the air conditioner. They use fans to keep the air moving. But on really hot days they really should run air conditioning.

This is the cleanest Subway I have ever been in! Our sandwiches were made well and she was patient with our orders.

They offer a variety of sandwiches with ingredient combinations that will please any sandwich lover. I love their Italian and especially that you can add roasted red peppers, olives, and pepperoncini to them. My husband typically gets the Italian or their Buffalo Chicken sandwich. The large may seem expensive, but it's huge and definitely enough for two meals. They also offer salad options and soups, along with cookies and a great tasting pasta salad. There's plenty of tables to eat inside, but we typically take ours to-go. We always stop at the convenience store that's attached for more drinks and snacks.

I'm here to tell you the reviews are absolutely deserved because this is now our go-to sandwich shop! The bread is always fresh, they don't skimp on the meat or toppings, and they can melt the sandwiches, which takes them to another level. My wife loved the avocado on her sandwich, and I personally can't get enough of the Chicken Bacon Ranch and Chicken Pesto. I'll admit, it's in a location I probably would have overlooked since it's connected to a gas station. Never thought I'd be raving about food from a place attached to a gas station, but don't knock it until you try it! We've been back multiple times already and are officially hooked. Highly recommend!

I'll be honest: I haven't even been inside the shop yet. I ordered the first time just based on Yelp reviews, grabbed a sandwich for me and one for a coworker, fully expecting the usual "pretty good, I guess." Instead? Both were fantastic. Like, "wait... did we just get lucky?" good. So next week, we test it. Different sandwiches, different combos. Still fantastic. Third time? Still great. Fourth time? Still great. I'm at about my sixth order now and the quality has never dipped. That just doesn't happen these days. The bread is fresh, the ingredients actually taste like something, and the sandwiches are put together like someone back there actually gives a damn about what they're serving. You can tell when a place phones it in. Beach Hut Deli does not phone it in. Somebody there clearly loves their job, because it shows and it is DELISH. In a time where customer service and quality feel like they're going downhill fast, Beach Hut Deli is a straight-up exception. This is absolutely a TOP sandwich spot in Sacramento. If you're scrolling through Yelp trying to decide where to order from -- stop. Order from Beach Hut Deli.

So that's exactly what we did. For my sandwich I chose the Corti special. Basically you're able to choose your bread the toppings and some of the other condiments but you are not able to choose your mean. The person making your sandwich decides what they're going to put in it based on the different toppings and condiments you add to your sandwich. I will say that the service was quite quick there were four other people ahead of me and I will say I probably got my sandwich within 7 to 9 minutes. This was perfect time for me because I had never been to this specialty store before so I took that time to browse the area and the different aisles to understand what were some of the things sold there. I will say the space was surprisingly filled with items that were extremely high quality but reasonably priced. Also all the individuals working there were quite friendly they said hi and asked if I needed any help or assistance multiple times from different people. Now the sandwich itself I will say it did live up to the hype that was being tossed around all of Instagram. It was just so high quality when it came to the ingredients the bread was super fresh and each bite just had the perfect balance of meat to bread to condiment ratio. I highly recommend coming to try one of these sandwiches and one thing I didn't say earlier was at 9:00 a.m. it is not that packed so you definitely can get it early and again have it for your lunch later on.

The deli sandwiches is where it's at though, and there's always a long line. The sandwiches are so loaded! You get the order sheet to the left side of the deli and put your form in the basket. Then walk around the store and pick up delicious cheeses, charcuterie meats, snacks, and fresh pasta. Their ravioli is pretty famous and reminds me of an upgraded version of the nostalgic soft, square beef raviolis that I grew up eating. If you don't want to commit to the entire box of take-home ravioli, you can buy it by smaller tubs from the deli. After 20-30 mins, your sandwich should be ready for pickup. The workers there are so friendly and provide great service. They genuinely seem to like their jobs. We got one guy helping us out from one end of the deli to the other end and he was so patient and happy the entire time. There was a sweet lady handing out cheese samples as well. Everything I tried was so delicious. I especially loved how thin they slice the charcuterie meats where they are translucent when held up to the light. Can't wait to go back for their fresh pastas and homemade sauces.

I automatically think about Duo Huong when I think about banh mi. Their grilled pork never lets me down. It comes in a huge serving size with carrots, onions, parsley, and jalapenos (optional). Bonus points for the customizable garlic butter spread that can be added to the bread. Out of all this shop's positive traits -- portion size, taste, authenticity -- the most head-turning of them all lies in their menu prices. $6+tax for a large sandwich ($3.25 for small) is unheard of, particularly in California. Even with Doordash's greedy middleman antics, the all-inclusive total with the DashPass comes out to slightly more than $10 per sandwich. I doubt that there's any contention about Duc Huong serving the best banh mis in Sacramento. With its consistent taste and absurdly cheap prices, I'm hard pressed to try another establishment.

On Sunday (6/21), I ordered four sandwiches and ate half of one right away. I actually remember thinking to myself, "This is really good." I saved another sandwich for Monday, and as I was getting toward the end of it, it started falling apart on my plate. That's when I noticed a piece of hair inside. Needless to say, I was completely disgusted. Finding hair in food is one of those things that's hard to get past, especially when you're almost finished eating and realize you've already consumed most of it. It's incredibly disappointing because I had just started to become a regular customer and was genuinely enjoying their sandwiches. Unfortunately, this experience has completely turned me off, and I don't think I'll be coming back.

While I make it a point to grab some banh mis to go whenever I'm around, I've never eaten in the restaurant until this weekend. HL is a sleeper because their menu options are big, portions are BIG, AND the food is still decently priced with most entrees being $14. This is getting harder and harder to find, due to cost of living and inflation. Bun Bo Hue (BBH) - Really good! Nice big bowl of noodles with all the usual suspects. Can get this with or without blood cubes. They serve this with a lot of veggies and herbs which is nice because some places are so skimpy. The flavor of the broth is delicious but not spicy. You'll need to add more of the chili oil and other table condiments. Banh cuon - It only said it was served with cha lua (vietnamese meat loaf) but I was surprised to see it came with a shrimp and potato fritter, as well as a good serving of bean sprouts, cucumbers and pickled daikon/carrot on the side. They give you a small side of sambal as well fish sauce to dip or pour over your banh cuon. The portion is huge for $14 and I really loved the taste of the cha lua, which I'm pretty sure is house made. The rice rolls could be a little thinner but they were filled well! The shrimp fritter was okay... two shrimps with shells on btw. It added a nice crunch to the meal but it was pretty greasy with a thicker batter. My fav shrimp fritter comes from Tay Ho but can't complain! Nem Nuong Spring Roll - I was expecting a couple small spring rolls for $5 but these thangs were long and thicccc (thats what she said). The nem nuong inside isn't overly sweet, but its a long thin slice that spans the whole roll so every bite is the perfect bite :) The eggroll wrapper was nice and crunchy, and the the roll not overly filled with noodles. Very shareable, but ask them to cut it in half or thirds! Was a hot day so we got Soursop smoothie, no pearl and a fresh OJ. Vietnamese OJ hits different. It tastes exactly the way you imagine an orange should taste, but so much better. I'm pretty sure they add some kind of syrup and sugar to it to enhance it because no way is it just fresh squeezed oranges only. Slightly pulpy but not too bad. Soursop is usually my fav but idk if they messed up and gave me the wrong one or what. It tasted very limey lol Only took a couple sips before trashing it. I've never had their shakes before but I found it was very icey, and less creamy than other places. Service is so so. If you want to eat in, just sit at a table and somebody will bring you a menu. The food comes out quick but they won't check on you again after that. If you need anything extra like water, napkins, the check, you'll need to wave someone down. They take CC though, so that's a plus! Parking lot is big, shared with SF market and all the other stores in the plaza so it can get pretty hectic. HL side has a small side lot, so try your luck there otherwise it'll be a walk as they're the corner store.

I stopped going there about a year ago and was getting my son his banh mi across the street at Duc Huong. Well, the line at Duc Huong was soooo long today and I hadn't eaten anything all day and it was probably almost 1pm by that point. We went to the Filipino Fiesta of Sacramento this AM to watch the live entertainment but I didn't want to wait in line for any of the trucks. I got one bánh giầy - $2.75; two fried spring rolls - the ones fried in rice paper - $.95/each; one regular egg roll - traditional kind filled with cabbage and pork - $1.50; and, for my son, a bbq pork bánh mì - no butter, extra onion - $5.75. I know the coffee drinks there are too sweet for me so we headed to the Starbucks down the street for me to get my drink there so I could sweeten with Stevia. I liked everything except for the regular egg roll. The filling was very salty. The bread for the sandwich was a great texture (from what I sampled) and the filling was ample. My son seemed to like it. Huong Lan's is the only place I know that puts onion in the sandwich. I liked the simplicity of the one bánh giầy. It's just mochi and pork. Mini-sammich with the fried rice paper spring rolls is a nice combo of taste and textures. :) Duc Huong was my first choice because I like the bread and they really are generous with the filling - so the price is ok considering - but in a pinch Huong Lan works.
