All menu items and ingredients are in stock when I visit. 4. Even if there is a line in the drive-thru, it goes quickly. I can't believe anyone would give this location less than 5 stars. Okay, maybe 4 as it IS a chain. Seriously though, I hope the management staff reads this review and gives their employees a raise. They are doing a great job amidst the calamity that is 2020. Greasy delicious butter burgers (get the deluxe for at least some semblance of vegetables), good custard / shakes / malts, the BUFFALO CHICKEN TENDERS, etc. Overall I am normally somewhat disappointed by their flavor of the days - they are mostly something you could create on your own with their available mix ins with a chocolate or vanilla base. I want that flavor to be more special, you know? The custard is not as good as one of the more "local" places around, but really it is so (some might say TOO) convenient. Lately though, the service has been sooooo slow at this location. I don't know if they are just short staffed or what, but around dinner time you can expect a 30-45 min wait for your food. I have tried to get around this by preordering online, which seems to help. But be wary if you are ordering during prime time without that.

One of the male employees, to his credit, acknowledged me and said someone would be right with me. There was food, ice cream, and condiments all over the place. It looked like a tornado hit the kitchen. Two guys were in the kitchen not doing much of anything, while the other two employees were frantically running around trying to prepare ice cream, but not really accomplishing anything. They were clearly overwhelmed. Understaffing is this location's downfall. This and cleanliness. It's always dirty, and it kind of has a wet dog smell. I waited for a little over ten minutes. The two women waiting for food didn't get it. Another guy walked in for a mobile order he placed, and he stood there. A few more minutes passed. I looked at the staff covered in food, the filth of the restaurant, and all the food and ice cream on the floor behind the counter and decided I did not need a cone that badly. I left, and noticed a bunch of cars pulling up to the drive through. The last time I visited, a sign on the door said they were closed because they didn't have anyone to work. I live in Cedarburg, so when I want DQ, I'll probably just go to the one in Jackson.
