Our friends highly recommended this spot so we made a point to stop here on our way into Portland…read more The scenery was beautiful surrounding the drive-in, which also has some indoor and patio seating. They have a nice big parking lot and it was free to park when we went on a Monday. There is a trail and playground nearby so it was nice to enjoy our ice cream after over there. I loved how they had coloring pages and crayons at the counter for the kids to kill some time while waiting for the food! I loved that they had some Asian inspired flavors on the menu which I was not expecting! I kept it simple with a grilled cheese which they serve on a waffle and I also added pulled pork for a small upcharge. The tomato soup pairing was so delicious and it was such a comforting meal in the foggy overcast weather. For dessert, we tried the rainbow brite seasonal sundae, which had these ripe mangoes and ube swirl inside. It was so cute with the little rainbow jellies! The vanilla soft serve itself was really good so I think I would've been happy whether it was a plain sundae or completely loaded like this one. We also tried the guava cheesecake cookie, which was huge and I loved the guava cheesecake filling. Sugarpine did not disappoint and it definitely lived up to the hype. It's a little bit outside of Portland, but definitely worth the drive for the scenery and the food!

Food: The regular price of their sundaes are about $10 but really $12 once you include the 20% tax…read more The flavors were good though. We had the Chery Colada parfait which was a vanilla with cherry and pineapple and the Once in a Blue Moon which is a blueberry ube mix. The cuban pork and boriqua bbq chicken sandwhiches were approx $18/$22 with tax and $17/$21. So you can easily spend over $100 for a family of 4 stopping for lunch. No judgement, just letting you know what to expect and you can decide if it's worth it for you. Service: Non existent in the sense that you stand in line order at a window and seat yourself if you can find a spot, your food comes up at a window, and you throw your own trash out afterwards, but they charge you 20% extra on every items. Why not just raise your prices 20% and put a sign that says no tips? I guess employees would earn more money when it's busy on a Sunday but make less when its slow? To each his own. I'm just letting you know what to expect. Ambiance: It's a walk up sanwhich and soft serve ice cream food place in a great location by the Sandy river. We came on a Sunday and it happened to be their Anniversary celebration so they had a dj and they were doing a collab with some burger place. On this day, it was either pulled pork or bbq chicken sandwhich options or the burgers and the sign said food could take as long as 55 minutes in addition to the line that was over 30-45min long. So we opted for their sundae specials for $8 and burgers because we assumed the burgers would be cooked faster while we were still in line for the ice cream. But NO! Despite no line and nothing being cooked when we ordered, the burgers weren't ready until long after we got our ice creams and finished. Burgers were actually a bargain! Only $48 for 3. So that was only $16 each. Parking was awful. Seating was not much better, we were able to find a table to share with others. I had been wanting to come here for years seeing them on IG and here on yelp but don't make it out to Troutdale very often. So I was happy to finally try them out. Unfortunately I don't know if it is always a 1-2hr commitment. I probably wouldnt make a trip just to come here, but if you are on the Sandy river next door, an ice cream to share is probably not a bad deal.

The burger was cooked so well, and I'm glad I got the extra patty. It was so flavorful I couldn't have stopped with just one. The fries were great too, cooked well and nicely salted. It's definitely worth coming in to try! Great good!

Consistently great food, top notch service, no matter the day or time. Honestly, just make the simple decision to keep your hard earned money and skip Goon Burger / Irrelevant Beer. This "goon" burger only qualifies as a burger in some chaotic South Park fantasy. It looks like they really dropped it on the floor and called it a concept. The fries? Sad, soggy, barely seasoned, and completely forgettable. Now the best part: the hipster staff at both places. They take themselves very seriously. One of their newer employees, clearly aiming for Employee of the Month, decided to stop me while I was literally grabbing my food and leaving, just to tell me, in a smug tone, that next time I can't bring my dog. The funny part. I was already outside waited for my food away from patrons, then I grabbed my food, and was leaving right away. What exactly was the problem? Did my calm, happy dog disrupt the sacred burger experience? I laughed and said we'll see about that. You don't just randomly enforce a rule like that and talk to customers like that. I've been there plenty of times before with no issue. But apparently, after a very important team meeting about dogs they had just yesterday, they have decided that, even "pickup customers" can't have their dogs with them. Mate, you could have just said "hey, can you tie him outside next time?" Easy. Human. Instead, you went full authority mode over a mid burger spot. I won't be going back, not because I will miss anything, but because of that attitude. When people blindly follow rules without basic common sense, it just gets sad. Anyway once again, Brothers Cascadia Brewery. Two minute drive, ten minute walk. Just go. Also adding photos for reference. The majestic burgers&Fries and also sharing a photo of my dog that possible triggered the employee of the month to warn me not to come again if I have my pup. We will not.

I went through the drive-through to pick up an order that I had submitted through the app. This location almost always hits the mark but this time I'm leaving a review because the gal at the window was really really nice to me and also made a point to let me know that she remembered my sauces and that they were at the top in the napkins. That kind of service and detail is really appreciated!

Customer Service Food…read more Incompetence Story time! Me and my friends made 3 mobile orders due to us not wanting 1 person having to pay for it all. We rolled up into the drive-thru, they asked "do you want to use your app to earn rewards"-- we replied "we have 3 mobile orders". The one lady said back "I can only do one of those" so we said 1 name and went to the window. When at the window we asked if we were able to do any of the others. She said "One at a time"....and gave us one order. We drove around, walked ourselves inside and asked if we could pick up the other two (Save our self two more rounds of the 6 car line) One lady turned to another and asked and the one lady said "no you said drive-thru so has to be drive-thru" In which I replied "so we have to go through the line two more times?" She said "Yes you have to go back thru TWO more times, don't gotta be rude" Then whispered to the other gal "we're not going to serve them" We got back in our car and drove around again-- they asked the same opening question which we replied "we have a mobile order". *25 second pause* "We are not serving you" which we ask back "well we paid, what can we do?" And a guy came on and said they didn't check it in so we would receive our money back my 4 am. I understand that people can have off day's, but to be refused food that was paid for over being "rude" in which we were not-- we were very calm and just asking questions to confirm isn't right. We have gotten more than 1 mobile order before, therefore we wouldn't understand why this would change now.
