Cheesy Breadsticks and House Made Ranch
    Alyson C.

I'm a Michigan native, so I was a bit skeptical of a Detroit Pizza place whose website photos only include rounds and that up-charges $1.50 for Detroit crust. All that to say, the pizza and service are both great at Detroit Pizza in Camas!! Fresh ingredients from the veggies to the cheese, great crust, and house made ranch. We were ordering takeout as first-time customers on a Friday night and there was only a 20-min wait time and the server on the phone provided recommendations and offered free cheesy bread because it was our first order. We ordered the Veggie Gourmet with Detroit Crust, Cheesy Breadsticks, and a side of ranch. All were delicious! We will absolutely be back!

Taco pizza was an awesome recommendation from Ivan--super flavorful and definitely worth trying. Cassidy made a great Bloody Mary, and Ivan also hooked it up with some free cheesy bread for our first visit, which was a nice surprise. The whole team was super friendly, and the service was excellent. Great food, great vibe--Detroit's Pizza did not disappoint!

Half Hawaiian and half pepperoni and sausage pizza.

This is the saddest pizza I have ever purchased for $30.00. 7 slices of pepperoni, 9 pieces of sausage, and 6 slices of Canadian bacon. First and last time going here.

I would probably rate this closer to a 3.5 but because of service I went to a 4 since it didn't let me. Pizza crust was good and crunchy, flavor was lacking. We ordered the combination (can't remember the name) impeccable customer service, marinara for bread sticks was served cold, large salad was crispy and good.

Great vibe overall. We came in for a large group lunch and had made a reservation, but it wasn't written down on their end. They accommodated us right away and had a table ready after just a few minutes' wait. We ordered a bunch of starters to share, the Brussels sprouts were delicious, the pretzel with cheese and mustard had the perfect texture, and the fries and Caesar salad were both really yummy. Honestly, the starters were the highlight of the meal. The entrees were decent but didn't quite live up to the appetizers. Service was quick and orders came out accurate. I got the hot Italian grinder, and wasn't expecting the large slices of meat inside, it threw me off a bit since it's different from other grinders I've had though the flavor itself was still good. Overall a solid experience and I'd come back, especially for those Brussels sprouts!

The "Shoug" needed a new microbrew with a good food menu since Amnesia Brewing closed in 2017. Better yet 54-40 is brewed in Clark County. The Columbian ran a nice article on the co-owners Bolt and Amy Minister and we decided to check it out. https://www.columbian.com/news/2025/feb/01/54-40-brewing-opens-second-pub-with-full-menu-in-washougal/ It's in the Washougal Safeway strip mall close to Hwy 14. It's got a Sports Bar look and feel with enough room for medium large parties. Can't wait to try the pinball machine. :-) We got the large (16") supreme pizza $30 and the Yacht Rocker IPA $7.50. My oh my, that was an awesome pizza. I have a wood fired pizza oven in my back yard and make Napoli style pizzas frequently. Their pizza is made in a gas oven with a ceramic floor so doesn't have char and smoke that a wood oven gives you but the pizza crust is thin, crisp, and tasty. They really cut and timed the onions and bell peppers well with a little crunch, not the usual mushy. Yeah, the IPA was good too but the pizza stole the show. The wait staff was great... really nice and attentive and the manager was friendly and informative. The only downside is the pricing. It's average priced for these inflationary times but too expensive for me to eat here frequently. All that said, it's on my rotation for entertaining out-of-town guests. Highly recommended. Check it out!

Kascadia Brewery & Public House - Great Pizza, But Not Quite a TravelValue™…read more Kascadia may call itself a brewery and public house, but unless you're there for pizza or beer, your options are going to be a bit thin. Sure, they have burgers, but this is clearly a pizza-and-pint operation. I ordered a 16" sausage pizza ($24) and, to be fair, it was really good--crispy crust, flavorful sausage, solid execution all around. That said, $24 for a pizza? I've been living in Europe for the past four years, and over there, some of the best pizza on Earth costs between $5 and $10. I get it--I'm not in Naples anymore, Toto. But still ... it stings. It's a welcome addition to Washougal's food scene, no doubt about that. But here's a suggestion: offer delivery. I only live five minutes away, but I had to drag myself out of the house to pick up my pizza--and I'm sick. If it's not an emergency, I don't go out, and believe me, this wasn't one. So while it's not a CombatCritic TravelValue™, it is a solid, tasty pizza conveniently close to home. CombatCritic Gives Kascadia Brewery & Public House 6 Bombs Out Of 10 ... More Bombs Are Better!

Lovely. We could see a fountain. There was also a fireplace near us, which was a nice touch. Service was OK. A little bit slow, and in my opinion, the server was not well trained in basic table service. I would expect a bit better in such a nice location with a lovely restaurant. We both had coffee with plenty of cream. We asked what the soup was, the server didn't know if they had soup. A few minutes later, she returned to say they only had clam chowder. Which is exactly what my friend had had there before and wanted. After a long wait, a very nice bowl of clam chowder was served. It was a healthy portion and came with some oyster crackers. Very tasty. I ordered the roasted beef salad. The beats were on top of a bed of totally overdressed spinach for my taste. The beats were nicely roasted, and there were plenty of them. Candied pecans as well. Not a lot of feta. Pickled onions on top. It was OK only I would not order that again. My friend got the Caesar salad, which was very nice. The croutons were light and crunchy. We also had some bread that came with olive oil and vinegar. This item was fine, not great. The clam chowder was $10 for a bowl and it was the best thing that I had. We had to ask for a refill on our coffee, and also to clear some plates away that were finished. We did stay for a very long time. My friend felt relaxed there and was talking to me quite a bit. I do appreciate that we were not rushed out, however, it was not busy. We were never offered dessert. Perhaps we would've enjoyed that. I see myself returning, if my friend would like to.

My parents had been here before for happy hour and really enjoyed sitting out on the deck, overlooking the beautiful golf course. So of course, we had a perfect table with a lovely view on a relaxing Saturday afternoon. We got there at 1:30 PM and lunch service starts at 2:00 PM. Our server Rory, was very professional and attentive. He seemed to sense whenever we needed anything. I had a particular request, I ordered the prawn shrimp Louie salad, and my request was that the kitchen take the tails off of the prawns for me. I just really hate having to do that myself at a restaurant and getting my fingers all messy. Plus I was wearing white. So you see, diva treatment was necessary. Everyone at the table except my mom ordered salads and got their food first. Ta da! Rory and the kitchen totally came through for me. No tails on my prawns. The salad was beautifully presented. I don't know why my dumb Yelp brain didn't take a picture of it but at least I got a picture of it before I gobbled it down. I will say this, the service at the Hickory, the ambience overlooking the beautiful golf course and I confided in Rory that the prawn shrimp Louie was the best salad I've ever had. Seriously, the best. I hope the weather is nice towards the end of September so we can take my dad there for his birthday. Fore! now I'll just daydream about that awesome salad. Thank you Rory and staff! 2024 - Review #13
