Everyone coming in gets a welcome, even if it's a bit too quiet and from a bit too far away for most folks to hear it, as most of the patrons I observed come in from my spot by the door seemed oblivious to the greeting. Bonus points for single occupancy bathrooms, too! The Texas toast and chicken was as good as always and I am not a big fan of their fries, the Cane's sauce helps me get them down my gullet. I wish they were a bit more crispy, but that's just my taste. The sweet tea was on point as always, and really the only issue we had was that we asked for our order to be dine in but we still got it in a foam container and a plastic bag which is such a waste. The toppings were being added manually because they needed a new batch of the FOD and they even skimped on those. For how much they charge, it would be nice to get at least what we paid for. We can get better quality, and appropriately portioned custard from other local custard places. Don't recommend this location. I've enjoyed their burgers and sundaes mostly, but I'll occasionally get a shake or other treat, such as their famous novelty item called "Those Things." The Jameson flavor was minimal at best. We were not looking to be knocked over by our custard or choke on it because it was boozy. But having more flavor would have helped a lot. AND it is $18 a quarter, $6 more than a regular flavor! Gilles Jamo custard can't come close to Kopps Baileys custard. And Kopps doesn't raise the price on a specialty flavor. Gilles food is always good tasting & quality. The regular flavors of custard is good. But Jamo isn't worth it in my mind.
