Visited this Potbelly for a lunch and I didn't feel very welcomed u till I got to the gentleman adding toppings to my sandwich. The First Lady asking for the sandwich topping was not welcoming and appeared bothered she had customers. I also had to repeat my order 3 times and she got mad when I said it louder the third time. The gentlemen adding my toppings was very attentive and engaging and even apologized for the other co worker. At the register the cashier appeared mad I asked her to look up my rewards and for a bag it simply was an unpleasant experience to say the least. It's always a hit or miss experience ordering from this potbelly's, they have gotten my sandwich orders purchased through DoorDash wrong on multiple occasions, however, the food is always good. I know this chain has been around a while but somehow I had never tried them until this past weekend. I had a few people at my house and we decided to order in instead of going out for a late lunch/early dinner. Everyone seemed pretty set on sandwiches and one person in our party was set on a Cubano and another was hopeful for soup. With the varied taste of our group of four, this spot seemed to best fit the bill. They temporarily have an Cubano on the menu and they have a variety of soups. I was in the mood for a turkey sandwich and went for their turkey avocado, which comes with cucumber, avocado, swiss, turkey and your choice of other toppings/condiments. I had a little mayo, mustard, lettuce, and tomato added. I got it served on their multi-grain bread. I somehow missed the memo that all of their sandwiches are toasted. So, something to note--the bread is toasted! All in all it was a good sandwich. Oh! Once final note: one of our group was hopeful for a milkshake--they also have those! I was just at the potbelly in oat creek. I had never been before, but always wanted to try. I ordered my sandwich and told the girl I wanted lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. She told me I had to go in the middle to order that, not in the nicest way. I apologize and said oh I've never been here before. She got a bit nicer. So I waited in the middle. Guy ask me if I hade the turkey I said no I have the roast beef. He tells me it already at the checkout. So I go to the checkout and ask the girl if I got what I wanted on my sandwich, she proceed to tell me I was supposed to wait in the middle and ask for that in a are you stupid way. I tell her I did wait in the middle,.she tells me that I didn't wait till it was done. Can someone tell me how it wasn't done if it was at the checkout? I told her to keep it. I guess this may be a one off... It was one of those in a hury days, and I popped in for just a bowl of soup. One person in front of me and at least 4-Employees... I went to the cashier to ask for a soup and the 3-employees were engrossed in conversation. So much so they didn't even look up to acknowledge me... As I was in a hury and waited about 3-5-minutes total, and then just left and went to the Subway across the street. Probably should've just done that in the first place. We had Potbelly where I used to live, but I never ate at one until I moved here. Since then, though, it's become one of my favorite sandwich chains. It's no fancier than most of them, but the decor seems a little cheerier, the small details a little more on-point. And they seem to really value friendliness in their staff. I could just as easily write that about either this or the Prospect location. Their employees are really quick with a smile, but in a way that seems genuine and not forced or fake. I even hear tell that the downtown location has live music on occasion, though I've never checked it out. Plus I really like the food. I like the toasting on the sandwiches. I really like the hot peppers. I like how the soups are steaming-hot when they come out (particularly on a cold day). They also have shakes and desserts that look pretty promising. The only thing about the downtown location is I wish they didn't close so early. But it's good for a tasty, budget-friendly lunch when I'm downtown shopping. read more

I really enjoy eating here. It's good food that is fast. Apple walnut salad is great as well as the turkey avocado sandwich. Yum!

Staff was friendly but quality of sandwiches was a bit disappointing. We had ordered the cuban and the pulled pork sandwiches to split. The cuban was just okay. A little light on the sandwich toppings compared to other location. On the seasonal special pulled pork, way too much BBQ sauce and also it was served cold even though it was ran through the oven to warm. Weird. Finding parking to get to this Potbelly location proved to be a challenge as well and we didn't have any luck finding street parking nearby. We ended up pulling into a parking garage for hourly parking starting at $5 an hour. Sheesh. We decided to call the shop and they said they do validation for the mall parking lot so we moved the car over there and walked over. But upon exiting, when we pulled out of the garage with our validated ticket, we still owed $3. Sigh... I guess better than $5. Too much adventure just to get a dang sandwich. The assembly line configuration with the toaster was a lot like Quizno's. Chicken and cheddar on a wheat bread with the usual toppings including tomato and lettuce and cucumbers. For some strange reason I have avoided Potbelly, assuming it was just another Subway/Quiznos-style chain. I was so wrong! I have wasted months of lunches by my blind stereotype. I have only visited the shop on Wisconsin Ave across from Mo's, but there is another in Bayshore Mall that I will now need to try. So, what did I like about Potbellys? Let's start with the service. Noon on Wisconsin gets very busy and the line starts to snake through the shop, so a person appears from behind the counter and starts taking our orders in line! Despite a dozen people in front of me, I got through the checkout line in less than 10 minutes. The atmosphere! Everyday at lunch (from my 2 visit experience, anyway) there is a musician seated on an interior balcony playing music. What a relaxing break from the busy workday! Although there are a lot of people in this small shop, it is not noisy because everyone is enjoying the music. Way too cool! The food! I have to admit that I ordered the same sandwich 2 days in a row because it was so good (the mushroom melt "skinny"), but both days I was with a large group of friends and everyone raved about what they had ordered. There are 4 choices of "skinny" sandwiches which I love because I don't like to stuff myself at lunch. There are many topping choices including delicious spicy peppers which really set the mushroom melt skinny to the absolutely fantastic level for me. They have Zappo's potato chips (which are the best in my opinion), large deli pickles, homemade soups... I will definitely become a Potbelly regular! read more

I'm currently staying at the Hampton Inn and this place is just right across the street from it. I decided to grab a sandwich here instead of Subway and I'm glad I did. They have great toasted veggie subs at a reasonable price. I ordered the BIG Vegetarian sandwich with everything on it except mayo, onions and pickles and I was very satisfied. I love that they toast the sandwiches much like Quizno's, but Potbelly is better in my opinion. They also have unique drinks in the fridge and zapp's chips which is my favorite. It's a nice cozy place. Someone mentioned that they have a musician that plays during the lunch hour, but he wasn't there when I got my sub. Maybe he took the day off. read more

My friend and I stopped in here for lunch after a fabulous event at Stone Creek Coffee in the mall. All that coffee left our metabolism revved up and man were we hungry! Potbelly took great care of us! What a nice variety on the menu, with salads to health it up amid rich, full fat delights. I'm opting for more health conscious choices these days as I'm doing Weight Watchers. The staff were great. Unbeknownst to us, the romaine lettuce scare had hit the news a few hours before. When I ordered my sandwich they simply said they had run out of romaine and suggested spinach for my side salad choice. It was delicious! Wonderfully fresh and colorful with a lite vinaigrette choice. When I got home and heard the news I was especially grateful to the staff who had been so proactive.
