Note the fun assortment of fries!
    Steve G.

We've gone by this place countless times, in part because we are regulars at Ray's liquor store. For whatever reason, we'd never given it much of a thought. After a trip to Ray's a few weeks back, we couldn't decide on a place to eat and thought, let's go there. What a fun place. It has that little diner vibe. We got sandwiches but I imagine it's also a great place to get breakfast. I think my favorite thing is the "kitchen sink" approach to the French fries. It's an assortment of different shapes and kinds! Great place. Glad we finally gave it a shot.

Great little diner in Wauwatosa midtown area. Bright & clean small dining area 2 & 4 top table & counter seating. Very attentive staff & excellent food! Fish fry was delicious! Definitely going back to try the breakfast!

Great spot for breakfast food! The feel of a diner with a more modern menu, but with classic options as well! Nobody at our table got pancakes or waffles but everyone around us had them and they looked amazing so they're for sure on our list for next time!

I missed taking a photo of the pancakes as my kiddo ate it too quickly!

We have returned many times to this restaurant and every time we are wowed by the food we order. We brought the kids and my youngest told me he had a "five star" meal . Service is consistently friendly and the vibe is relaxed and friendly. Thank you! (Also, the corned beef is SO GOOD).

Very nice cozy diner for brunch. Great service and coffee. Had the beyond the border burrito which was very tasty. My friend had a pancake (not pictured) and it was very huge and she loved it. Def coming back!

Was in the area after an early AM appointment and needing coffee and breakfast, was heading towards NAG, then remembered that I'd been wanting to check out MidTown Grill! Menu looked nice with some standard breakfast items and many just outside of standard. I got Huevos Rancheros and they were really good. Place is smallish, service was okay, and I would definitely return again for breakfast lunch or dinner!

Cute little place that was very busy when we arrived, so we took that as a good sign. We sat at a table outside since it was a gorgeous morning. My guy had the crème brulee french toast which he practically inhaled and he did give me a taste and it was as good as he claimed. :) I selected the make your own omelet option with crispy hash browns. The omelet was so flavorful and really well made so I was happy with my choice. The hash browns were not crispy at all, which my husband pointed out before I even tasted them. All in all though, great service, affordable, clean, appealing vibe, with tasty food!!

Date of visit: 2/13/23 I have a monthly-ish lunch date with a co-worker and we wanted to hit up somewhere we had not been before that wasn't too far away from the office. She stumbled across this place on Google and decided to take a chance--so glad we did! This is the epitome of hole-in-the-wall diners, from the small seating area with a substantial counter to the open kitchen where you can see much of the food being made, to the unpretentious and respectable coffee being served. And I loved everything about it! They are only open from 8 to 2, which means no early pre-work breakfasts for me, but that's okay. I had the chicken and waffles, and it kept up with some of the heavyweights in the area such as Tupelo Honey and Crafty Cow! It was served simply, no room or time for silly frills here, this is serious eating. I almost--almost!--felt weird snapping a pic of my food, but as they say at Yelp, "my phone eats first." Definitely recommend this place for its great food and service.

Another 5-stars as I work ky way through the menu...this time ? Huevos Rancheros and it was amazing. There's yet to be something I've ordered here where I haven't said "this is the best _________ I've had." Service is always great, love the nitro latte as well and my 5yr old said the chocolate chip pancake was almost as good as mine (it's big too!). My fav spot around....

Their website has a popup on the home page saying it comes with fried haddock, potato pancakes, applesauce, and rye bread, but the popup doesn't list the price and it isn't available through the online ordering function. I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.

The food and service has always been good. Today, we ordered Chilaquiles with Carnitas added in a verde salsa, Corned Beef Hash, and sides of hashbrowns and 2 pancakes (instead of toast). The Chilaquiles were very good and the over easy eggs were perfect. The carnitas were tender and nicely seasoned. The housemade corned beef cubes were tender and the diced pan fried potatoes had a nice latin seasoning blend. I just wish the hash had diced bell peppers and onions. I also wish the poached eggs I asked for with the corned beef hash were cooked properly. I was expecting the type of poached eggs that are like small balloons waiting to be popped so the egg yolk oozes out over the corned beef hash. These poached eggs were over-cooked and looked un-appetizing, but tasted fine. The hashbrowns were perfect - crispy and tender and properly seasoned! The side of pancakes were fluffy and absorbed the syrup quickly. Overall a good visit. The food was mostly on point, except for the disappointing poached eggs and lack of onions and bell peppers often found in a hash. If I go back, I'll stay away from their benedicts (since poached eggs are not executed correctly, and corned beef hash, and instead stick with the Chilaquiles.

I saw a picture of their breakfast burrito on social media and made plans to stop the next day. In addition to the breakfast burrito, which came with a side of hash browns, I ordered cheddar broccoli soup and was gifted a brownie for visiting. The breakfast burrito is build your own with a bunch of different options for meats, cheese, and veggies. I went with bacon, American cheese, and spinach and wasn't disappointed. The burrito was hefty and every one of the ingredients stood out. This is something I would definitely come back for. The three hash brown patties tasted as you'd expect and I appreciate that they weren't cold in the middle or bland. You can definitely notice the freshness in the soup. It was thick and used actual florets of broccoli, not just the stalks. Given the size of the burrito I had just eaten, though, I wish there was an option for a smaller portion of soup. The bowl was large and if you just plan on having that as a meal it's fine, but I would have preferred buying a cup as compared to a large bowl. Hopefully that's something they consider as a menu tweak. I'm not a big brownie person, but I enjoyed it. Like the burrito and the soup, it was a sizable portion, so worth the price if you're buying one. I'd be interested in trying their lemon bar or coffee cake on a future visit as those are more up my alley. I enjoyed talking to the woman who was prepping the dining area while I was there. She mentioned that Senor Luna's next door is their sister location and that Miss Daisy's has such early hours (currently 5am during the week) so as to cater to the nearby business park. I appreciate the early hours because I can easily make it there and back over to where I work in plenty of time.

The restaurant has a huge selection of beers and drinks, in addition to the delicious selection of dishes. I had a local beer, which was recommended by our server. He explained the two beers I was choosing between, even offering a sample of for both (which was a huge plus). I ended up going with the Lowlander Oranje (which is a local beer). The beer starts off a bit bitter but settles into a clean taste that really paired well with all the dishes we ordered. They also have a happy hour during the weekdays from 3PM - 5PM, which gives you 50% off local beers. So, if you have the time, make sure to check that out. We ordered the Buckatabon Cheese Curds (a must in WI), which are made from Meunster cheese, Bruschetta Flatbread (which includes goat cheese spread), and the Mussels (served with a sliced toasted baguette). Everything was absolutely delicious. The flatbread was definitely a pleasant surprise, while the mussels were a show stealer. The baguette definitely pairs well with the mussels which sit in a delicious "broth" that is extremely flavorful. As for parking, you will have to look for street parking (2-hour parking), but if you're going during the weekdays, it shouldn't be an issue. During busier times, they do have a public parking lot a few doors down from the restaurant, which charges about $10 for the first hour and an additional charge after that. When I visit WI next time, I will make sure to stop by again to try the other local beers and dishes. 5 stars all the way!
