When I first talked to them for a quote, they made it very easy as they walk you through the whole moving process. The person giving the quote makes you go room by room and list all the furniture that you are planning on moving to your new place. They then explain what's included in the price and email you a copy for your records. A $50 deposit is required to lock in your date and is credited towards your total at the end. Adil and his team works super fast and waste no time at all. They are very knowledgeable and work great together as a team. They finished our move 2 hours earlier than what was quoted! Amazing! All our furniture and belongings were packed wonderfully in their truck and all made it to our new place in their respective rooms without any issues. I highly recommend using Move4U the next time you need movers. Their pricing is very affordable and hiring them was one of the best decisions I have ever made. We have been on the road for several years and couldn't move out of this location, otherwise we would have. The staff cost us a LOT of money! We moved from a small unit to two larger units, then had relatives come by and take things out while we traveled. When they got us down to one large unit, we asked staff to make sure that we had the same gate access code. The person we talked to (Leo?) assured us that would be the case. A family member rented a truck and brought a friend out from Chicago to pick up some things. They couldn't get in, and since it was the weekend, nobody was in the office. So they wasted the cost of the truck rental and their time. Then after we got that straightened out, we were able to downsize to one smaller unit. I called Leo again, and he assured me that the gate code would be the same. Again, the relative rented another truck and got a helper - guess what, the gate code had been changed again, even though Leo promised us it wouldn't be. Asked point blank, Leo said he had no idea that gate codes changed automatically when renters moved into different units. It wasn't until AFTER this that we were told about the kiosk in the office entryway, but that might not have helped because when our relative arrived, we were out of cell range and couldn't have provided login info. Then when we finally left the facility completely, they wouldn't pro-rate the month's rent (we left on the 3rd). "Company policy!" I guess company policy overrides the money and time we wasted believing your staff when they said we could use the same gate code. And again, they had raised the rate on us. The new place we rented with a competitor cost us less than half what we were paying at Global Storage, and it has far superior carts for moving items into/out of storage. We often had to go hunting for carts because there aren't enough spread around. Also, the exterior doors have door stops on them, to prop open the doors - and most of those door stops are broken! The last day, when we moved out, a man was cleaning fishing equipment and other stuff right in the main entrance near our unit. He blocked access for about 45 minutes, so we had to go the long way around to our stuff. Staff should have noticed this on their video system and asked him to move. Currently, there are a lot of empty units at this storage facility, and now I know why.

We hired College Hunks (Naperville, IL) for a local move between two homes that were only about five minutes apart. Before the move, we answered detailed questions about the size of the homes, the number of rooms, and what needed to be moved. Based on that information, we were given an estimate of approximately 6 hours of work and an expected cost of around $2,000. The reality was very different. The move ended up taking approximately 13 hours--more than double the estimate--and our final bill was nearly $4,000. We were told the extra time was due to a two-story walk-up and a blocked alley entrance, but these explanations do not justify such a massive difference from the estimate we were given. The men on the team also did not inform anyone that they were going on break and we have no idea when they started/stopped their break. To make matters worse, several items were damaged during the move: * The back panel of a dresser was damaged. * The center support leg for that dresser was lost. * A small piano was broken. We submitted a damage claim during the first week of May and have repeatedly attempted to follow up. Despite numerous calls, we have received no meaningful update or resolution. At this point, the lack of communication has been just as frustrating as the damage itself. I understand that estimates can change and that moving is difficult work. What I do not understand is how a move can take more than twice as long as estimated, result in damaged property, and then be followed by weeks of silence when a claim is submitted. All we have asked for is a fair resolution regarding the damages and a reasonable review of the charges. Instead, we have been left chasing answers. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to get every detail in writing, ask detailed questions about how charges are calculated, and carefully document the condition of all belongings before the move.
