Super relaxed sports bar in Covington. I stopped by for a snack while I waited for an event to start. The bartender was super sweet. I ordered fried okra and they give you a TON of it. It came out hot and crispy and wasn't bland. I also got a frozen margaritas which I didn't love because it was missing something that I couldn't quite figure out. Here we go, I usually dont give bad reviews but this experience all I can do is shake my head. Horrible, horrible. So my sister and I decided to visit this restaurant located a mile from my daughter's house. Wrong decision. So when we arrived there were people standing everywhere. We called to see if we can place an order to go since the restaurant was so crowded. The representative who answered the phone was so rude. Wasn't helpful at all. We tried explaining that we were outside ,but since it was so crowded we would place the order to go. She asked us to come inside and place the order. We walk into the restaurant/bar and we were asked to pay $10 just to come in the restaurant and place a order to go. It was totally ridiculous. Didn't get the chance to see the ambiance of the place because we were so busy trying to get food. Security approached us asked if we paid to get in we explained we were told to just come in and place order to go. We were not made aware to pay to pick up food. After the back and forth with security we were disgusted. We ordered food anyway. There food was so disgusting it wasn't even worth posting . The energy from this place is horrible. Where do I start.... Our waitress, Gabby, was sweet and honest. She informed us that the kitchen was under a new chef early so I tailored my expectations to that. We ordered French fries were perfect freezer bag quality fries. The wings were fried a bit too hard. The hookah was fine enough. The DJ WAS super fun! The drinks were slow to receive but the taste was consistent. When I went up to the bar for water, the bartender took a while to notice me and a few minutes longer to get my water. It wasn't that busy honestly. My cousin ordered loaded fries but they took nearly 2 hours to arrive. They basically just had white sauce, shredded cheese, and bacon bits on them.... Eh. I used to go there at least 3 times a week to eat or chill, spending well over $100/week, but that janky gratuity policy drove me away for over a year being that the only real way to protest is with our pockets. Now, I go there maybe once a month, because it is a cool spot, but please let me decide how much I want to tip based on the service. I enjoy Sudo. It's a simple down home place for good bar food, especially the wings, strong cocktails, karaoke and random dance moments. People are just there to have a good time without spending a lot of money and for that Sudo can deliver. Everyone from the in house staff to doormen to customers seem friendly. When I tell you whoever made my food needs a raise! They need it right now! The honey bbq jerk sauce on the lamb was perfection and I am not a sauce person so that says a lot. The mozzarella sticks tasted like frozen bread I didn't bother to ask for my money back or didn't eat them The Salmon Alfredo wasn't bad but nothing special at all the garlic bread tasted freezer burned or frozen at some point in the day and reheated. 3* for the waitress she tried but made no attempts to make it any better tipped her anyway not her fault about the cooks. 6* for that female DJ with the long dreads she was awesome. She was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was very tasty (especially the quesadillas). It is a tight spot and there is no dance floor so you gotta get in where you fit in if you want to dance. The drinks were not strong at all.
