We were looking for a self-wash closer to our new home and decided to give Suds a try today. Booking an appointment the first time requested a lot of form filling online - I wasn't prepared for it but it appears it's much easier once you're in their system. Had to scramble to get rabies info for them, even for self-wash, but figured it out. Upon arrival you are escorted to a tub - the only items at your disposal are the tub, water, restraint, dryer, cotton and solution for ears. Everything else they bring to you. You select the type of soap from a list and it is "fresh mixed" and brought out - so you're left waiting for it. Also if you want gentle face soap, perfumes, paw balm, it's extra. Conditioning rinse? Forget about it. Brushes? Few kinds and none were clean, all contained other dog hair - which makes me doubt they're sanitized during this pandemic. Quite a different experience from the other dog washes in Seattle we are accustomed to where you grab everything you need as you need it and they clean and sanitize it all in between clients. Places where multiple shampoos, rinses, fragrance, brushes, shedding tools, clippers, scissors, nail clippers, and frankly everything you could possibly want is there for you to use if you want. The tub is low which provides back ache, the water temperature dial is sensitive and my pup accidentally hit it to cold twice in her short bath. They appear to be new...all the above other than tub height are easy to work out kinks...not writing them off completely but as long as the other shops offer more for less I won't be returning for self wash. read more

Not only did he come out looking perfect, clean, happy and calm but you could just tell from interacting with his groomer, Angela, that it's a happy place to be. She was delightful. I was also impressed that when I asked they were willing to do the hand off and pickup outside and distanced and take payment over the phone. They did such a great job, the one-on-one attention they gave to Sophie made both of us feel more at ease than I had expected. For the last few months I've been driving by this location and have been super excited that a new full service pet grooming and wash place is opening. Now that COVID rules are more relaxed, it's open and I finally got a chance to use the self-service pet wash bay for my Riley my Golden-Doodle. The provided everything I needed to wash my dog in the stall. You can even brush your dogs teeth which is way cool! The blow dryer worked like a charm. My only complaint would be that they need to increase the pressure of the water hose and up the temperature just a tiny a bit. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I brought Riley home all fluffy and clean to my wife and she was thrilled. Thanks Suds!! P.S. make sure you bring your pet's rabies vaccination records and show them to the staff. read more

We have a four month old puppy that needed his first experience at a groomer because he could barely see due to so much fur in his eyes. He is an anxious puppy that usually doesn't like new people. McKenzie greeted him and he immediately was drawn to her. I have actually never seen him react to a new person so positively. He just had a puppy wash, and trimming of the important parts. Edit to respond to the owner: I told her and showed the groomer multiple times on my actual dog how long I wanted the length to be. She mentioned she knew my dogs specific coat the length I chose would turn out much shorter and would NOT look like the artificial hair length I chose AFTER THE CUT. This is absolutely unacceptable excuse, you are the professional and if you knew it would be shorter based on my dogs coat you should adjust accordingly. The length I chose did NOT match what I received. Using that as an excuse to get away with a horrendous hair cut. They take no fault in their actions, if I am paying $136 and extra money due to my dogs breed being a doodle you should make the adjustments to the clippers. She knew it wouldn't look like the artificial hair. Take some responsibility... stay far far away if you have a doodle they will charge you an extra $25 just to get it WRONG! If you are not picky about how they cut your dog, then this is the perfect place for you. Not only did I fill out my own notes on the online portal to ensure they knew what I wanted, I showed the groomer 5 photos of what I wanted. I told the groomer multiple times I wanted his hair kept LONG and to trim it. I told her multiple times I did NOT want him shaved and wanted him to still be fluffy. To my surprise when I go to pick him up, he is completely shaved down, I didn't even recognize him. When I discussed my dissatisfaction with the groomer, there was no apology just attitude. STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE A DOODLE! Second, I had booked my appointment for a Friday at 5pm. Wednesday at 6:30pm I get a phone call saying they weren't able to accommodate our original appointment and they only had availability for the next morning at 10:30am. I was super accommodating and flexible, the least they could do was listen to my request of what I wanted done on my dog. read more

I also appreciate that they check for vaccines. I took my dog in today for a nail filing and paw pad trim, and they did an excellent job. We have been bringing our dog here for the last year and a half. The groomer Stevana was amazing but the owner and staff were completely unprofessional and unfriendly. We had asked multiple times at drop off for them to contact my husband when our dog was ready and gave them his number. Every time they would still call or message me (my number was on file) and due to their incompetence in a simple request like calling a different number, we would be delayed in picking up our dog and then they would secretly charge us a "boarding fee" without notification. Then, they suddenly more than doubled the cost of our groom at our last appointment. When we called the owner Susan to inquire she was really rude and said their prices had changed (more than doubled) and now doodles have a separate pricing than other dogs. The least they could have done is notify us of such a steep change but nothing. No communication. Then Susan said we were being charged the wrong price anyway. So I guess that was our fault. Like I said - incompetent. Susan also refused to refund the boarding fee or do anything, even though they are the ones who called the wrong number for pick up. We will definitely not be returning here. Our credit card company is disputing the charge with this dishonest business and I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Save yourself the trouble and don't go here. read more

This is, hands down, my favorite dog grooming/bath place. They have both self wash and groomer wash. They also allow appointments via online (be sure to wait for a confirmation though). When I drop my dogs off, they give me a solid pick up time. They don't kennel the dogs or use kennel dryers. When I show up to get my dog, he's chilling in their open area. They never have too many dogs in at once, so it's never chaos. To top that off, I always get a fancy report card on my dog! It gives me insight into how they behaved, what their coat, skin, teeth, toenails, etc look like and a recommendation for next appointments, as well as stuff I can do at home to help my dog with crazy skin allergies. No upsell, no judgment, no haughty overbearing "advice" - just friendly input. The self wash is also great. They give you everything you need and don't hover to nag you. They're just on the other side of the room though, so easily available for questions or assistance. Again, they never have too many things going on at once, so no chaos, no waiting for help. They have everything I want in a dog washing/grooming place. It's professionally run, looks fantastic, always spotless and clean, the people are helpful and they treat my dog how I want him to be treated - like he's the best dog in the world! From all the positive reviews here it must be lovely to actually have your pet seen at Suds. Unfortunately we had such a terrible experience with scheduling and the very rude staff that I can't give this place a positive review. For context, we scheduled for our dog, Lucy, to have a haircut here a couple of months in advance. My partner and I have very busy schedules (Im a healthcare provider and he works for the fire department) and so we appreciated being able to schedule out. A few days before the appointment they texted and asked if we could shift her appointment to several hours earlier. We really wanted the appointment for her and so we agreed. They then sent a couple of reminder texts to come in for an appointment at the wrong time, and I had to verify the correct appointment each time. They also sent us a reminder to bring in her rabies vaccine records. I had tried to upload her records to their website a couple of times but couldn't upload the document for whatever reason so I sent my partner to drop Lucy off with the records in hand. I will say, the records from our vet are a little difficult to read because of the formatting but it was very clear that her vaccinations were up to date (I attached a photo). When we brought her in to her appointment they spent 30 seconds looking at her records and then said they wouldn't accept them because they weren't clear. They attempted to call our vet's office, but it wasn't open yet (because we came in for their earliest appointment at their request!) so they turned my partner and dog away at the door. To top it off, the staff were rude in person and over the phone later when I called to clarify what was wrong with her records. It was such a negative and frustrating experience, since we had booked so far in advance and accommodate their schedule change requests (to our detriment) that I can't recommend them. I'm sure their grooming is great, it's a shame that their admin staff is so difficult to work with. Best of luck to new customers. read more

I love suds!! Having a doodle means that they need a haircut more often then most and I've heard horror stories for how some look after at other places. After reading reviews I gave this place a try and it was our third time here and i still love it! I know Murphy gets treated well for how excited he is to go in. They were GREAT! Definitely found a new place to bring my 3 dogs. Place was clean, bright and plenty of parking.

In October, got a toy breed puppy who by November, with in need of facial grooming along with nails and sanitary areas. We looked around and chose Suds based on recommendations from groups and we are glad we did. Even though we drive 30 minutes to get there, it is worth it due to the quality of care in working with the pup, expertise in grooming practices and cleanliness of the entire store. Not to mention great patience with a squirmy puppy. Our pup just had his second appointment and this time, it was a full groom. Angela was the groomer and she did a great job not only in cutting his coat to our specifications and his needs but in dealing with a 6 month old pup. We stood outside for a while watching the process and was impressed how by the end of the groom, our pup was perfectly content with the process. No more squirmy puppy!! Angela was excellent with our puppy's first trip to the groomers. I soooo appreciated her patience and kindness. I've been living in this area for three years and have never found a local groomer I really liked. I've been cutting my dogs hair myself for the last year due to the pandemic, but finally decided to try a new spot and I'm so glad I did! The whole process was super easy from booking to pickup/drop-off. It's in the same parking lot as a Safeway, so there's lots of parking and it's easy to find. I made an appointment online for a full service bath for my dog. I showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early to find out that the receptionist says that my appointment was canceled and I should have received an email. I checked my email at the counter and all I had received was a confirmation of my appointment I never received a cancellation email or a phone call to cancel my appointment. They refused to service my dog and asked I make another appointment. This is a huge inconvenience, people have lives and when they do you the courtesy of showing up early and on time maybe you should do the courtesy of keeping people's appointments or informing them that they have been canceled. I will not be going back super bad first impression. read more

We recently switched groomers because we noticed our corgi was incredibly anxious after getting his baths and trims - what a change for him and for us!
