I'm going from loyal customer here to never coming back. I had slowly stopped coming to the clintonville coin-op when I noticed a decline in their cleanliness shortly after they reopened. I started visiting other laundromats. I came back to give coin-op a try again and I'm disgusted to see they haven't improved their cleaning at all. This is the inside of the first machine I stopped at, 45 minutes into the day's opening, with the attendant chilling at the desk. So I skip the machine and go check some others. Checked at least four other machines. Each one was filthy. Dog hair, lint, gunk, coins, KIBBLE?? I found the cleanest one I could and wiped out the inside as much as I was able (it was still pretty grimy). Honestly I regret doing that wash. When it was over, I ended up just grabbing the 'clean' clothes and the rest of my clothes and putting them back in my car. No idea where I'm going to wash them next, but it's definitely not here. This place really used to be my favorite, but they need to seriously implement some stronger cleaning protocols and follow up on them.

I counted last time I was there (Nov 2025), and 20% of their machines were down. That's 1 in 5 and that is not an exaggeration. So if you go and it looks to only have a few people inside, there's a good chance that every washer will be occupied upon arrival. It would also be helpful if there were more places to sit while your laundry is finishing. I had two young kids with me and ended up sitting them on top of top-loading washers because the one bench in the facility was already in use.

She went to her car and the owner came outside, tapped on her window and asked her to come inside. She obliged. Once they were in, he disrespected her by getting in her face and yelling at her saying how she broke the machine. Then demanded she pay $500 dollars to get the machine fixed. She then proceeded to tell him that she wasn't paying for anything, the machine was not broken, it only needed to be reset and that she does not have $500 to just give him on the spot. We do have a court system here! You don't just demand someone pay you money ob the spot! This isn't China! She was visibly upset and crying over the way he was treating her. She then went back to her car, called her boyfriend and told him what had happened (for context, she is black, her boyfriend is white and the owner of the laundromat is asian). She told him that she was not going back in there and that they were not drying their clothes in that facility. Once he got to the laundromat, he went inside and took their clothes out of the machine. The owner didn't say a word to him but screamed and yelled at my daughter like a fool! It kills me because they come over to this country thinking they can disrespect black people and get away with it! Apparently they can with the recent verdict! IYKYK! Really, a good idea for me, as i didn't want to break my machines in the process. The issue is drying, the dryers are way too expensive. Friday May 22nd I hobbled into to do a out $30 worth of laundry that I had piled up in the last six weeks due to being in the hospital with a mTBI and concussion plus other injuries. This was my first outing ALONE since being released from the hospital Monday. After struggling to get my laundry out of my vehicle, I used a laundry cart as a walker instead of taking my new rollerator walker in also. Carol noticed I wasn't doing well but she never broke off her conversation with whoever it was that she was bending their ear to ask if I was OK. Even though the night before I told her I wasn't doing well and would tell her all about when I saw her at the laundrymat to do my backlog of laundry. No problem, but after I got my things inside, she did look over and ask if I was doing Ok? I said No but I would talk to her after I went to the bathroom. No problem there either except I had to repeat myself 3 times so that she could "hear" me because I was "spent" already after just unloading car and getting things inside. Ok, so I went to the bathroom, as I was finishing in the bathroom (that doesn't even have a sink to wash up after doing your business) I saw at least 5 of varying sizes but all very active Roaches. I went out and quietly told her there were roaches in the bathroom. She acted like I shouldn't worry about it because, Dave, the owner, and her spray but they can't get them all. And they don't bother her anymore because she even has them at her apartment. I told her that I need to get my stuff outside and asked her if she had any extra ROACH spray to spray my stuff outside before putting it all back in my car. She acted like I was being hysterical and unreasonably making such a request. WOW! Needless to say I ended up asking GCPD to assist in getting my laundry out of there because I didn't/couldn't have enough energy left after all the arguing she was giving me. Unless you are extremely close by, don't bother coming here. And even then, consider going somewhere else. Carol is so incredibly rude. I have never seen a place employ such a rude person for so many years. I have seen and heard way too much from her. The fact that she still works here and doesn't seem to receive any repercussions for her behavior, tells me all I need to know about the owner too. The other employees aren't exactly great either, but nowhere near as rude as Carol. I get that people have bad days, especially in customer service positions, but this is beyond just having a bad day. It's just outright poor character. On top of the poor customer service, there are giant cockroaches. I've worked for various cleaning companies so I am well aware that all commercial buildings have bugs, often including cockroaches, but these are HUGE and just run all around the place. It's getting worse and they don't seem to care. The bathroom is small and doesn't have a sink... the sink is out between some of the washers. Gross. Put a sink in the bathroom. There is also no air conditioning and it gets very hot during the summer. They just prop the doors open and turn on fans, which is better than nothing, but it lets a bunch of flys in. It's so hot that I can't be bothered to come in during the day - only later once the sun has gone down and it's less crowded. I'm done with this place. I will pay more to go somewhere else even if it's a bit further.
