    Thai Chicken Wings
    Jessica W.

I had a WONDERFUL lunch today at Thai Kitchen. I enjoyed the Thai chicken wings - phenomenal. Wonderful flavor, perfect level of crisp, meaty wings, great sauce. Not too hot for people who aren't big into spice. The flavor was great. A good app for any group in my opinion. The real star was the big bowl noodle soup. I chose beef and spice level 6. Such a flavorful broth!!! I hate when I go somewhere for soup and it's obviously just a boiled bouillon cube. This broth was great! You know something is good when you consider asking if you can come in and order only broth for your own recipes. Spice 6/10 was perfect - gave a great something extra and somehow made the soup feel lighter? My nose was running in that good "I love this spicy dish" way. Never once even thought it was too hot. I'd recommend 5-7 for typical people interested in a spicy dish and 7+ for those who are intentionally looking for spice. Regardless, amazing flavor. I'm used to Thai noodle soup having bean sprouts, cilantro, green onion, and jalepeño as toppings, similar to the way pho is served. This came with a nice soup vegetable medley instead. I would have preferred the former, but the soup was still great all in all. Waitress was great! Very kind and thorough. Owner or manager came by to say hi in a natural way, which I love. Totally clean, no concerns with cleanliness at all. Clean fish tank, which is always a good tell. A small space when you look at it in its whole but they have things positioned so it looks really big and open! I will absolutely be back, especially when I need a good brothy soup. I'm excited to trying other items on the menu.

This is one of Muncie's hidden gems. Truly, I've driven by here so many times and have passed it off. Every time I did I was missing out. The place is dated, the decor is dated, but it is SO CLEAN INSIDE, you couldn't find a speck of dust even if you wanted to. You can tell that they take care of their restaurant. The food is traditional Thai food and everything you would expect from it. The owner said he's been here 14 years and is from Thailand. The food was wonderful and I am so glad it is within walking distance from my home. This is a staple in my home now. Don't judge the decor, don't judge that it's dated, it's the food that will speak. The gentleman also went out of his way to make a menu item that they do not have on menu for me. I described it and told him what the name was at other Thai foods restaurants and he made it. AND IT WAS GREAT!!!

We ordered for pick up and what we got was terrible. The portions for price were sad and too small. The Plate I got (in photo) was soggy, very watery and old. It tasted terrible and there are clumps of egg. Would not recommend

    Mee Krob with chicken

After several visits, Thai Kitchen is definitely deserving of a positive review. I have had some of the more traditional/common Thai meals there, such as Pud Thai with chicken, but I thoroughly enjoyed the less well-known Mee Krob with chicken during my last outing. It was fresh and vibrant with vegetables that included carrots, celery, snow peas, broccoli, and onions. It comes atop a bed of crispy noodles which are a fun variety that slowly soften as they soak up the tasty sauce. The Pud Thai was a bit less colorful, but their menu is not lacking in options and variety whether you favor vegetables, meat, or Thai curries. Other reviewers commented on the spice level which I found to be very satisfying. I ordered a 7 and the heat was noticeable, but exactly how I like it. Their heat scale tops out at a much higher level than other Muncie Thai competitors, so keep Thai Kitchen in mind if you're looking for a bit of extra kick. Keep your expectations realistic regarding the speed of service for a small dining establishment. They are friendly and as attentive as possible, but large crowds will slow things down a bit, but the food is prepared quickly once your order is in. For $7, I couldn't be happier with the flavor, portion, and quality of my most recent meal and I plan to be back again.

That right there told me they don't mind being different in the style of food they serve! After checking over the menu full of wraps and burgers amongst a plethora of other bar food I ended up getting some wings to try and the house made chips. I got half my wings in the BBQ flavor and the other Buffalo. Being honest the wings weren't anything special but they did hit the spot and the BBQ sauce wasn't anything special to me on the wings but if it was used in some pulled pork or ribs I believe I would enjoy it more. The buffalo sauce was really good and had just enough heat to need the ranch here and there. The house made chips were good, not overly seasoned and not over cooked either. The place is small but has a handful of high top round tables and a few bigger square tables in the front with a decent bar strip with plenty of bottles and beers on tap. The pool table in the side room looked like a great area to hang around and play some pool while enjoying some beers with the company of friends. Next time I'm in town I will try one of their countless burger options!

What I remember is some damn good home cooking food in a cafeteria style setting with a fine dining sitting atmosphere. Awesome beef Manhattan with double meat and extra mash I ordered. Chicken is very good finger licking good in fact. The sticky bun is something else and the deserts mmm, pecan pie, custard, Strawberry shortcake, the list goes on and on and on. Taste really fresh and homemade, high quality ingredients. Muncie MCL brought back those memories, food is just about like it's always been for the most part, enough where me wants to go. Unfortunately I don't live close to this location to come very often. Sad I know, but it's true.

On my most recent the day the day fire they were to close it was sad, but great memories. The customers came in to say final goodbyes. The place was worn down, but clean. My dish of roast beef, mash potatoes w/ gravy, macaroni and cheese w/ bread was ok. The cherry pie desert was better. But this day and this review is not about the food necessarily. It's about the decades of memories MCL has provided families. Generations of families came back to Muncie and MCL to gather around a cafeteria near to their heart. So long MCL.
