Sticky Bun Latte with Almond Milk

We were golfing and we wanted a coffee and we saw this coffee shop was just down the street. We hopped the fence to grab a coffee and they were very sweet and fast! The shop is so cute and welcoming on the inside and the drink is perfectly sweet but also strong. We came to Galveston for a quick vacation and this is definitely one of the best coffees I've had. You need to try!!

Absolutely loved it here. It's super cute. They were super sweet and their menu is really great as well. My only criticism is the way that they give the drinks out. They call out the order name instead of the person's name who ordered it and it can get really confusing if you order the same thing as somebody else!

Festive decor for the holiday season. Baristas were friendly. Went off my usual order to try a seasonal one. Ordered the caramel brûlée latte sub almond milk. It has caramel and brown butter syrup. A tad sweet for me, but definitely packs a holiday feel. If you're not a brown butter fan, I would probably steer clear.

It is in a very nice town of Evia in Galveston. Also by a lake with corn holes to play in the back of the store. The cafe is very spacious and nicely decorated. My latte is very weak. No coffee taste, just milk. The mango smoothies is made with mango puree and it was good. It was a nice stop coming from Galveston bay.

Quiet, quaint Coffee spot. Service with a smile, and a good vibe experience. Definitely worth a look.

I love sugar bean! Not only is their coffee delicious but it is great for students looking for a place to study. Whether you enjoy the coffee shop ambiance or need somewhere a little quieter (they have a back room) there is something for everyone. It's also located next to a nice restaurant if you need a more heft meal and a beautiful lake which is nice for walks breaks las well.

Such a fun place to stop in Galveston! You can't beat ice cream for the kids and coffees for the adults. It was located in a really cute shopping area as well. Might just become one of our new go-to stops in Galveston.

What a cute little coffee shop! I tried the coconut cream latte. It was flavorful & sweet! They also have sugar free options!

    Iced strawberry matcha latte

Love love love the strawberry puree that came in my iced strawberry matcha latte but the quality of matcha should be updated to ceremonial grade since the matcha used gave it a chalky taste! The baristas were friendly & the environment is amazing nonetheless :)

I got a t-shirt too that I wore for years until it was ultimately retired. I actually wrote a Yelp review about it that I deleted. In it, I said "The smell of the waffle cones filled the place with smiles and enjoyment. I knew I wanted a waffle cone." What a terrible critic. He will never be Yelp Elite. I haven't been back to Hey Mikey's since then, just because I haven't really been back to Galveston in some time, but my memories of the unique ice cream flavors and toppings remained. Heading back to Galveston for a cruise, I wanted to try and make a stop there again for nostalgia's sake. Instead of heading to the Airbnb, my girlfriend and I drove straight to Hey Mikey's as our first stop in Galveston. We got there around 8:45 pm, which was 15 minutes before they closed (our fault). This is no diss to Hey Mikey's, but almost everything else on The Strand on a Thursday night closes way too early, so it felt like everyone was at Hey Mikey's. The line was extensive in front of us and behind us even after it closed. After waiting through the line for quite some time, I got a waffle cone with their cereal milk ice cream, which had Fruity Pebbles in it, topped with Lucky Charms. They gave it to me with a temperature-changing plastic spoon that turned from yellow to purple when cold. The ice cream was sensational. What an incredible flavor. The only downside was the waffle cone being a little stale, but I fault that to it being a waffle cone ordered right at closing time. The next night, I returned with my cousins and ordered a cup of cereal milk ice cream with Cocoa Puffs as the topping instead. Fantastic stuff. Once again, being there too close to closing meant we had to wait, and we didn't get our ice cream until 9:30, a full 30 minutes after they closed. It was nice that they still served us though! One thing I did notice, which I don't know if it's a normal thing, is that since Hey Mikey's is the only ice cream shop open past 8 o'clock on most weeknights, they seem to get a lot of foot traffic after that time. Their menu is pretty large in its offerings. If it were just scoops of ice cream, the line would move fast, but so many people were ordering shakes, which are a lot more labor-intensive and removed a staff member from their assembly line to focus on the shake. I don't have any advice on how they could easily move the line in the later hours of the night, but man, those kids are working their butts off for everyone to get their late-night sweet treat. Hey Mikey's, you are just as good as I remember.

There a few tables inside the establishment and it was quite packed with a line, however service went pretty fast. From the traditional chocolate and vanilla to Americas colors, and Salted Carmel, lots to choose from shakes, bowls and a banana split. I had the double scoop Nutter Butter and Salted Carmel and the misses had a Brownie Sundae. If you're in Galveston, check it out. If you're a fan of cooling off inside, you can do that to to enjoy the ambiance.

It felt kind of cluttered. I expect they must have a patio setup on nicer days, but on this day all that equipment was taking up all the space right inside the front entrance. I'm not much on sweets. I can be talked into an interesting cookie, but this was not the place I expected and I don't think they sold cookies or interesting milk flavors from what I could tell. They do sell sketchy looking hot dogs and pizza. I'm not sure who orders that. It seems like they specialize in ice cream. I tried one flavor and it was pretty sweet for me. I'm not much on sweets so that's not hard to do for me. I stood around letting my wife pick her flavor. I would have waited outside given how cramped the space felt, but it was pouring rain. My wife mentioned the place has artwork and stuff. I didn't see that and didn't know to expect it. I also heard there is a wine bar somewhere on the premise. I may have to come back and give that a try.
