We tried several drinks, and overall the teas definitely outshined the coffee. The regular cold brew was smooth and enjoyable, and the Sandy Shores Cold Brew had a nice flavor without being overly sweet. The standout was the Mango Slush with boba--it was refreshing, flavorful, and easily our favorite of the bunch. The Strawberry Matcha, however, wasn't for us. If you're looking for a matcha made with real strawberry purée, this isn't it. It tasted sweeter than expected, and the strawberry layer reminded us more of strawberry milk than fresh fruit. Overall, we'd recommend sticking with their teas, refreshers, and slushes, as those seem to be where they really shine. I adore this cute little tea shop! My go to drink is their milk tea made with coconut milk. It pairs well with the brown sugar boba. My daughter loves the strawberry matcha. And, if you're a coffee drinker there are so many different flavors to choose from. It's a cool place to hangout with friends or on a solo date. I finally made it here before the Fat Tuesday parade after seeing everyone post about this place. The only bummer was that the only non caffeine drinks they had were the sodas which my three year old loves bubble tea but he has to get the flavors that don't have any caffeine. So besides that it's a little slow but I know that's the island and we came during a busy time. It was laden with students studying. I come here for the study vibes more than anything else. Freckleberry has a unique cottage-core interior that you are unlikely to find anywhere else in Galveston. There are white/bright-colored themed designs over the walls and lots of plants which make it seem more elegant than your typical coffee/tea shop. I personally liked sitting in the stretchy chairs near the entrance more; they are intentionally a little stretchy to let you lay back a bit and sit comfortably. However, if more supportive chairs are more your style, there are standard seats and cushioned booths near the back. The outdoor area is spacious, well-maintained, and places even more emphasis on cottage-core design. They even have a cute gated chicken coop. I usually get the mango slush or the strawberry fruit tea. Mango slush always has a consistent sweetness and texture to it, and it's my favorite drink here. Strawberry fruit tea is decent too. They add some strawberry bits to the bottom for some increased viscosity which as a nice touch, but is nothing out of the ordinary. Wi-fi is sometimes spotty when first connecting. There have been two times now (I've been here about ~20 times) when nothing would load for the first several minutes. However, speed is okay otherwise (28 Mbps down and 6 up with 5 total customers on laptops); I was able to stream Netflix at 720p without problems. If you're looking for a pleasant change in scenery from the usual Galveston streets, I highly recommend this place! read more

Students were working, and in talking to my counterpart, we received stares. Don't know what that was about, but the creations and unique details here were exactly what I needed. After a busy day in the Galveston heat, a fruit tea, slush, sparkling drink, or uniquely flavored soda really hits the spot! We ordered the strawberry tea, and asked the team member if they could mix the strawberry and honeydew for the second drink. Add ins weren't the move today, and other than being open to the elements (mainly a little bug or two I noticed), they looked pretty delicious. It is one of the few places you can get boba (and it's actually good) and they have such a wide variety of options and customizations - there is a drink for everyone. Freckleberry Teahouse was the first establishment I stopped by after my move to Galvy! The aesthetic is very nice and it is a great place to bring your laptop and get some work done. Everyone who works there that I've interacted with has been very friendly. The drinks itself are really good. I'm a fan of their lychee fruit tea with strawberry boba. I'm docking one star bc they put a lot of ice in their drinks and it is a little bit more on the expensive side. I spend almost $7 per cup each time I go and as a student, it's not the most feasible priced drink I could buy on the island. Edit: I went again after receiving a response on my review from the owner and specifically asked for light ice two times. My drink was filled with the same amount of ice as my friend who got regular ice, so I still stand by my original words in that they put way too much ice in their boba. Added a pic for reference.
