Getting a sugar wax is always nerve wrecking for me, even if I've done it a handful of times!! But the past two sessions with Sarah have been so calming. She really makes sure that her customers are comfortable and relaxed during the process by having something playing on her tv in the background, she doesn't rush you during the process, and she really takes her time which I absolutely love. I have nothing but great things to say about Sarah and her work! I've had 2 Brazilians with Sugar Mermaid now, and I purposely waited until after my second time to write this review so I can share more about my experience. I had my very first ever Brazilian (not sugaring) done in August 2021, and I let my hair grow out until my first time sugaring with Sarah in January 2022. I'll admit--it was painful because my hair was so long by then (completely my fault for not even trimming a little). Anyway, due to this, I figured the result might not be as good as it normally should be, not to mention the time crunch because I came just on time and didn't fill out the form ahead of time like I was supposed to (this took up a few minutes or so). I was SO wrong! Even with my leg twitches due to pain and long hair, Sarah quickly & thoroughly did her thing, and BOY how clean and smooth as can be I was! All this to say, I'm never going back to regular wax or shaving again but will definitely come back to Sarah. At my second appointment, I experienced way less pain, and my hair growth was impressive (sparse and not itchy). As expected, I loved the result again, and Sarah is such pleasant company as she's sugaring. On top of everything, the receptionists are also on point! However I'm getting charged for cancellation fee bc I tried to call her at 3:52 twice that ima run a lil bit late I was stucking in the traffic and it's raining hard. she didn't answer and gave me a call back around 4:23 and texted me my appointment is canceled. I was almost there and she told me I don't need to pay the cancellation fee by redeeming my second part of MY GROUPON!!! WTF IS THAT? She told me I could just pay her regular price which is $59. I have no problem paying fees but how she wanted to redeem my Groupon just disgust me. I liked this place at first but now.... it's ridiculous. I've never seen anyone like this before. I got sugared by Cristina. It was such a great experience. In my area, all the sugary places are still closed, but I found my new Sugar Mermaid! I've been waxed and sugared before, and I love getting sugary more cause the pain is not that bad. Keep in mind, I do have a high pain tolerance. I was able to get my eyebrows, Brazilian, and underarms. Once Cristina finished with each procedure, she would give me a mirror and inspect the area and see if there was anything that could be touched up on. During the treatment, Sarah explained the sugaring process and the post-treatment skin-care very thoroughly which showed how knowledgeable and experienced she is.
