Prior to coming to NVUS, I had tried SNS (dip) and hated how thick and lumpy it was, vowing to stick to gel. After talking to John about my experience with SNS, he explained the benefits of properly-done SNS and I decided to give it a try. The NVUS team takes their time to execute SNS properly, not cutting corners or skipping steps to save time. I am now moving away from the area and sad to have to look for a new nail salon, as NVUS has set the bar so high. Although they are appointment only, it is well worth it for the quality of service you receive.

John's personable and friendly when you walk in. Love the atmosphere and decor. It's very cleanly and they are very cautious and wash their hands after every customer. (That's a major plus for me!) They follow COVID protocols () They pay attention to your wants they go above and beyond to make sure your satisfied with their work. The wait time is reasonable. I've been to various nail salons in the area and most of them are horrible about starting on time. It's definitely worth the travel! There color selection is great. I highly recommend Mia she's a five ***** rating! She's so gentle, friendly and does quality work. They book rapidly so make sure you book in advance because they do give priority to booked appointments first. They also do walk ins but your taking a chance on not getting in if they are booked. The first time I went, I got a pedicure and a full set. I showed her the length, shape, and design I wanted for my nails and was quoted $85. She cut the nails down shorter than I wanted, but I wasn't really too worried about that. I'm not super picky and I figured they'd grow to the length I wanted in a couple of weeks. When I went back for a fill the price was more than I was expecting. Their website says $50 for a fill (which is kind of high IMO), but when I went to check out I was charged more, so I asked for a receipt. Come to find out they charge an extra $5 for shape, and another $5 for length. My nails are active length, nothing crazy, and they're almond shaped. Why the extra charge? Shouldn't shaping come with the fill? I didn't ask for a shape change, and almond is super basic. I was wondering why she kept asking me if I wanted to keep the length the same. It would've been nice if she was upfront and told me there would be an extra charge. I wouldn't have cut them, but at least be upfront with your customers so they know what to expect. There aren't a lot of mail shops in town so I feel like this place takes advantage of that and charges whatever they want. It's a shame because I'm a pretty loyal customer when I find the right place. I refuse to be taken advantage of so I will never return, and won't allow my daughter to return either.

I asked that the water be warmed and it was not so my pedi proceeded with somewhat cool water... after about 5 minutes, I noticed we were wrapping up I asked "do you do heels here?" She smiled. Not wanting to be rude, I pointed to my heel because she had not pumiced/soaped my heel and was draining the water Will you be doing the full pedicure? She touched my heels, smiled and looked at me. I placed my left foot on my right knee and I rubbed my heels, "my heel, will you be doing that?" This lady tapped the towel indicating I should put my foot down and proceed to slather oil on my feet and legs one at a time (followed by lotion). Dumbfounded and speechless, I sat watching this lady put lubrication on my un-pedicured feet. Note: I did speak to the young lady realtime about this issue (in front of this lady) very calmly. She said English is not her primary language; however, it's clear she also does not know who to do a pedicure. The lady also gave me names of other persons to asks for in the future but I will walk on my hands before I ever return to this place.

In fact, she was planning her next appt for the following day lol (unfortunately, that's not in the budget) :) Overall, the place is very clean and quiet. If you're opting for a pedicure, they seat you in a fully equipped massage chair - just an extra dose of pampering - why not! They swap out the liners for the foot spas each time, so again, very hygienic. The menu of options is quite extensive. I felt thoroughly relaxed after my Jelly Spa Pedi & Mini Deluxe Mani. I opted for an old school French tip. Came out beautiful, but it started to chip the next day.
