Such a great experience with Michelle! I've been sugared twice before at another salon but this was by far the BEST Brazilian I've ever had. Michelle was quick and makes you feel so comfortable. I was in and out in less then 15 minutes. It hurts a little (easier after the first time) BUT she helps you through with breathing techniques and boom you're done! Michelle also walked me through the sugaring process, after care and gave me tips on how often I should come if I want to keep it up (which I do, I'm obsessed and will never go back to shaving!). I had heard about sugaring and was interested specifically due to my sensitive skin and tendency for ingrown. I messaged Michelle on Yelp and she quickly sent me her work number and we texted to coordinate an appointment (props for being so accessible!) I came into the office (after parking behind the little line of stores on the Taco Bell side of cliff drive) and was quickly brought back. Michelle is so friendly and nice! She explained sugaring to me and told me how, let's be honest it doesn't feel good to rip out hair- especially during a Brazilian wax- but her method is to get that part over with and move on. The first 5 minutes were seriously intense! My response seemed to be to laugh and tense up, but Michelle was so nice! We took a pause halfway and then continued. One time through really was 90% of the removal process. And over in 5 minutes! Seriously! After that, there were a few minutes of cleaning up with the sugar ball, then some tweezing. I walked in at 6:05, and walked out at 6:25 - which included pre-removal chatting, and post payment. Sugaring seems to be an amazing technique for me! My skin was so less irritated. It removed the hairs extremely well! Better than waxing ever has for me. The ball of sugar and stickiness is dragged against the hair grain (not the most comfortable...but not horrible) and then ripped with the hair. I'm sure next time it'll be less terrible; I made that horrible mistake of waiting 2 months between hair removal appointments. All this to say - I will be 10000% be back!! read more

One of the greatest sugaring experiences I've ever had! I went to a couple other places in SB/Goleta area for sugaring and wasn't nearly as satisfied as I was at Sugar. I never usually write reviews for places but I was so satisfied here that I felt it was almost necessary. Satara was amazing at what she did and made me feel so comfortable that I almost forgot about how painful waxing can be! The facilities are very clean and well decorated which is always a plus. I can't ever imagine going back to waxing or shaving after going to sugar. I have sensitive skin and am prone to ingrown hairs and after sugaring my skin was smooth and not irritated at all. Michelle is the sweetest and gives you all the information you need about the process and after care. It is pretty painful the first time around, not much worse than normal waxing, but it only lasts about 10-15 minutes and is totally worth it. And after the first trip it's much less painful. read more

I have been meaning to write this review since the very first time I met Michelle (about 9 months ago). I have tried numerous other places for waxing and NOBODY compares.
