We were in Augusta so we thought we would try this place out. We just wanted a sandwich so we each got a club sandwich and it was one of the best we've had. We also ordered the cheese curds and they were really good. The service was great, the staff was friendly and the place was clean. We had lunch at Sugar Shane's Family Restaurant this week. One of us had the BLT, and one had 1/2 Chef's Salad. When the food arrived at our table, it was picture perfect, and very good. Went here twice while on business. Got just a basic cheeseburger, which was excellent! Service was timely, portions were large and the atmosphere was really cool. We even met Shane, himself, when heading out. Great guy! We decided to go back the next night. Chicken strip salad was HUGE! Guy next to me ordered onion rings. I wish I would have. Traveling across Kansas we stopped in Augusta for lunch. Road construction back-up prompted us to turn into the old downtown area and we found Sugar Shane's. I had seen their billboard and once I saw they had outside seating I knew we had to stop. It was delightful, the food & service good, and prices reasonable. I had the white fish which they were able to make without the usual seasonings. I hate when restaurants have everything premade and they can't adjust for individual preferences. read more

Dont have any idea if the food or drinks are any good here. After being seated we waited 10 minutes plus waiting for someone to take our order. Waitresses, staff, bartender, host all walked past us. One waitress stumbled in from the back and stood talking to another employee for five minutes. Some younger people were seated and a waitress immediately went to help them. We left. This is a new place that has just been open a couple of weeks in town. Was kinda wary of the name but the owner explained it and it's all good. The building it's in is super old, I love history and glad to see it still being used. Atmosphere inside was great, owner is greeting everyone and the wait staff are also very friendly. No obnoxious music either, another plus from me. Wife and I had burgers and we both enjoyed them, great portions and cooked perfectly. Service was really good, our waitress wasn't overbearing or distant. Value for money was awesome, I definitely felt like I paid a fair price for the food and that's a big deal for me too. I was in town for work and Sugar Shane's was highly suggested. I had the special, Chicken and noodles, no mashed potatoes. It was awesome! The sauce was rich and had nice quantities of chicken, noodles and vegetables. Just like Grandma used to make. Amanda was our server and did a great job. Ok 4th time I have tried to go here, so far 1 for 4 for being open, spoke to the owner or someone who said they were the owner, and his attitude sucked the big one. and basically said he did not want my business. Tried this place for the first time (and likely the last). We found the food mediocre and the service good. The special for tonite was spaghetti so I tried it and found the sauce lacking as it was not close to what even comes from store bought. The taco salad has some worthwhile ingredients and the shell tasty but the large quantity is lettuce was not necessary and even looked unappetizing. read more

3 of the 4 in our party ordered a cat fish meal: fish & chips, fish tacos and pan fried. Thumbs up all around. The hold out had a guacamole burger, which she loved. We are on an Augusta food tour. This place is great!! I've been here twice now, and will definitely be back! Spoke to the owners and they are motorcycle friendly! I ride a Harley, so have run into a few places where they were not too friendly. The food here is very good! I had the meatloaf and it was wonderful! I discovered this place while riding with the Romeo's! Retired Old Motorcyclists Eating Out, and we ride around to various towns to eat and have discovered some great places. A lot of the reviews say great things and have full stars but those ratings probably were from people just looking for mediocre food that is NOT JEFFREE STAR APPROVED! I have been here a hand full of times and haven't had a good experience. As a citizen of Augusta, I speak for everyone when I say WE DON'T NEED THIS... at all. There are better places to eat at, and I'm sure if you're reading this review that you saw that this restaurant GOT A 64 OUT OF 100 ON THE HEALTH SCALE. I DON'T THINK I'LL EVVER EAT HERE AGAIN. This place is delicious. Very tasty burgers and the Catfish is awesome! The large draft beers are huge! I would highly recommend this place if your anywhere close. Had to take away one star since they only serve food till 9 on friday. Found out the hard way. read more

I keep trying to give this place a chance but I'm disappointed each time I return. I ordered a salad and found wilted lettuce, giving them the benefit of the doubt I took a bite and the whole salad tasted wilted. The prices do not match the quality, travel somewhere else for your dining experience. read more

Burgers are pretty good and so is the crispy chicken salad. I love the fries they are excellent . I had the shrimp Alfredo, that was nasty, would not recommend this. Also had a chicken wrap which wasn't to bad. It's a nice and friendly place, staff is very nice and full of excitement read more

Sugar Shane's is a charming bar & grill with a Hawaiian theme. It's very cute. You may find pineapple on most anything due to it's theme. The American food is very tasty but the Hawaiian food may be an acquired taste. read more

Where do I begin? How about the wait. My family and I waited 45 minutes just to have our drink orders taken. We tried to flag down anyone, but they were either too busy standing around or gossiping at the bar(I heard the word roaches and health department a few times). The owner was waking around acting like king shit greeting all the tables. By the time he mad it to our table to pretend like he cares, a waitress finally came to our table and took our drink orders. The food: Definitely not worth it. I ordered a chicken fried steak. The veggies were bland and swimming in oil. The mash potatoes were cold and tasted like they were from the day before. And the chicken fried steak was tough and undercooked. My wife ordered the same and it wasn't any different than mine. My kids had Mac and cheese, which looked like it was cooked in a microwave and the fries were undercooked and soggy. I've heard some bad things about this place but wanted to give the benefit of doubt. But it lives up to the rumors. Bad food. Bad service. If you care about what you eat, don't eat here. read more

We arrived at 10am on a Sunday. The restaurant was fairly empty and we were seated immediately. I ordered coffee and my husband ordered oj. She brought us oj and a glass of water. I reminded her about the coffee, and we ordered our food. She came back with the coffee and I asked for creamer and a spoon. Five minutes later, my husband got up and got them for me! Then our waitress came back to tell us that they were short a cook and one of the servers was helping in the kitchen so our food would take a little longer than usual. I asked how long it would take, and she said 10-15 minutes. No one ever refilled my (mediocre) coffee, so awhile after that I had to flag another waitress down to ask for more. 25 minutes after we'd been told it would take 10-15 minutes, my husband went to ask for an update on our food and our waitress said she would go check on it. 10 MINUTES LATER she came to tell us that they'd run out of bacon, which featured prominently in my husband's order. At this point we had been there for 55 minutes and we were DONE. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. read more
