This place is a great hidden gem. If you're driving through the Wichita area you won't just stubble on it unless you are looking for it. My brother in law lives in Andover and suggested it. Food was great. The chef is awesome. He was short handed but still delivered a great meal with a pleasant atmosphere and attitude. I ate his version of the Cuban. Probably my 2nd favorite Cuban I've ever had. I do wish the ventilation was better. We did leave smelling like the restaurant, but it was worth it. Sorry, I forgot to take a pic of my food. Food is great but the portions on the pasta dishes are extremely small. My 10 year old daughter can eat 2 full orders of the pasta and it is $12 each. Pasta noodles are so expensive. Please put more pasta in the orders. read more

Food was ok. Wish they used better quality bread but still pretty good. Ordered and they forgot the chicken on salad and they brought it out quickly so the service was good. I tried this place at lunch today because of the reviews. It is in a strip mall and is easy to miss when driving by, but I'm so glad I found them! When I walked in I got slapped in the nostrils by an overwhelming smell of unicorns and rainbows. It was magical. Garlic and warm herbs permeate the atmosphere. I started with a bowl of the Poblano White Cheddar soup. It was creamy and delicious. If spicy food bothers you than you need not be scared by word Poblano. It is a VERY mild pepper and perfectly crafted with the cheddar so that neither flavor is overpowering. It's also not too rich as cheese soup can tend to be. It was served with two slices of bread that look big and bulky, but when I bit into them they were quite soft except for a delicious crunch on the surface. I then ordered The Bomb sandwich with no tomato and extra aioli. This is their claim to fame and for good reason. The sandwich provided a flavor that matched what I smelled when I walked in. The aioli was strong and flavorful, but it didn't overpower the chicken which was seasoned perfectly. The bread was delicious and fresh as well. For dessert (because why stop now?) I tried the Cuban Bread Pudding. Traditionally, regular bread pudding is served in a bowl and is pretty mushy. This was on a plate and was firmer, yet still light and moist. The flavor leaned toward cinnamon with a hint of chocolate that was drizzled on it. It was not overly sweet at all and was a delightful conclusion to my ginormous lunch. I didn't talk about the service. There was only one server working and she had her hands full with 6 other tables and multiple to go orders. However at no point did I find myself wanting for anything, and she was knowledgeable with the menu and took her time answering my questions even though she was slammed. Overall, I cannot wait to come back even though I live 35 minutes away. I can't imagine this place can possibly last in this location much longer because it's small and I would think they'll get so popular they need to move to a bigger spot. 5 stars. Try them if you're in Andover. I don't have one complaint. read more

First in on a Sat night for early dinner at 5:30pm, but by the time we left an hour later all 10 tables were filled. The mozzarella caprese appetizer and baby arugula side salad were fresh, but the salad was piled a tad too high and overflowing onto the sides of the table (had to pick those out so I don't eat em). I got the mahi sandwich, which was really good but wished for a little bigger piece of fish. My daughter ordered the pretty tasty pasta roma. Only my husband's pasta bistro was a disappointment... flavors were there but the pasta was dry and the sausage over cooked. Service was friendly, but need to learn to serve. An example is when the waitress put my entree down, she dipped her sleeve into my half eaten salad that at the time I was planning on finishing later. Yuck! Creamy tiramisu was not bad... except that the ladyfingers were over soaked. read more

While they do not have beers on tap, the have a decent choice of bottled brews in addition to a nice wine selection. I chose the Tuscan Chicken sandwich with a side of the Parmesan Asparagus. Whoa! I have now gotten lunch here at least 5 times over last few months since working in Andover and have not had anything that wasn't absolutely stellar. Their sandwiches are just right. Like so right I want to eat the paper they were wrapped in. SO MUCH FLAVOR, layered, sprinkled and dressed into every bite. The bomb (best selling sandwich per menu), yep, it is just that. The Cubano is the best you will find in the Wichita area, and I have gone on a Cubano hunt, had them from almost every restaurant that has it on the menu. When I opened it and it had the potato chips on it I almost wept, just like what I used to get in PR. The bread they use is amazing, pressed to golden crunchy perfection. Look, I'm going on here because I need to. You all need to know that their sandwiches are ON POINT, they are worth every extra $ you pay for them. I have also had the soup and salad, so good. We were just informed this place is now called the Metro Bistro. We had a coupon with the old name on it. The waitress said the name change was over 8 months ago, but since we are the only ones in the place, she said she would accept the coupon. Prices here are sort of steep. A burger is $10 and a plate of pasta is $8.95. Add meat to it for another 4.95, so it's not cheap. The menu is 3 pages, but everything is typed out in a large print to make you think there is more than 5 or 6 items on each page. We selected ice water. Not even going to bother with drink prices. The staff is friendly and chatty while preparing your food. Portions are decently sized. Presented well. The pink sauce on the Pasta dish is incredible! The bowl is filling. First and foremost this review has nothing to do with the wait staff. Our waitress was very kind; however, the was the most disgusting establishment I've probably ever set foot in. Immediately off the bat the floor was absolutely disgusting. The welcome area rug when you step inside looked horrid, and I would be terrified to hear when the last time they mopped the floor was. I unfortunately, ordered the fish sandwich before having time to look around and I would NEVER recommend that to anyone. It was absolutely frozen for who knows how long; however I will say my husbands chicken sandwich was good quality and no issues. At the booths there is a little lip on the wall that is frankly just a dust and grime collector and looks to be seldom wiped down, lastly lord have mercy get a fly trap! Seeing flies flying around the kitchen was unappealing. The floor was honestly enough to make me want to gag, especially looking at the nooks and crannies. Excellent food at a modest price. You really feel like you get what you paid for. The chef hasn't let me down yet. All of the dishes have been tasty and consistent. Wait staff is very kind and professional. Metro Bistro is a hidden secret in Andover, but I hope they grow in popularity for the greater good. :) The specials have yet to disappoint. Decided to stop in and grab something to eat on the way to work. The lady who helped me was super nice and helpful. I ended up getting the Italian sausage pasta bistro to go. It was very tasty but they added a little too much oil. I had to wipe my mouth after every bite. I will probably try something else the next time. I came back to get something else and tried the "Cubano" and it was very flavorful and the bread itself was good.. I always have a problem with the bread being too hard or too chewy but the sand which was delicious! One of my favorites now! read more
