This was my first time visiting. The staff is friendly, and the food tastes amazing. I would recommend Sugar Spice to both locals and visitors.

First time coming here for lunch after solar eclipse! While many restaurants are closed, this store was kindly opened and welcome us with open arms! The lady staff was very friendly and explained all our questions we had! We ordered the vegetarian options and I got vermicelli with tofu and it was a good choice! For my drink I got green creamy stuff that was promoting at the counter! This restaurant was very friendly and nice vibe was present! :) Easy 5 stars from us! Keep up the good work and cheers

An authentic Vietnamese cuisine served here for your pleasure. Came here after Sunday Mass yo celebrate Father's Day with son snd family. Dine in , and take out but no delivery. They are Closed on TUESDAYS BUT open on: Wednesday 11AM-8PM Thursday 11AM-8PM Friday 11AM-9PM Saturday 11AM-9PM Sunday 11AM-7PM Monday 11AM-8PM Excellent service and friendly staff. I ordered the pork rice combo with a side of salad. Pork is tender and flavorful. Just wished the fish sauce was not so watered down cause didn't have that pungent taste of saltiness and sweetness to it. Pork egg rolls were fried and had the crispiness in every bite. Stuffed Filling is plenty and tasty. Eatery has limited seating capacity and most customers are having them to go. Popcorn Chicken was tasty but had a very thick batter and had an overcooked meat made it tough to bite.

Their service and ambiance was average for a pho restaurant. Their pho was really mediocre compared to what I could get in Dallas, as their broth tasted like they added too much sugar, but it could be the best pho in the area, who knows? Their boba also tasted mediocre but I guess this might be considered good in the area.

Hands down, the best vegan pho we've ever had! Our friend who lives in the area loves this place and told us that they recently added vegan pho to the menu and that we should give it a try. She knows that we're vegetarian and although she is not, she was also impressed with the vegan pho! Definitely worth giving a try, especially for any non-meat-eaters.

I came here with a recommendation from a Waco local, and this place did not disappoint one bit. I wanted something that was a quick healthy bite, so I opted for the Bún with pork and an eggroll. The pork was really flavorful and smoky. The eggroll was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside with the right amount of veggie filling on the inside. The vegetables were very fresh and the carrots were nicely pickled. Overall, really fantastic bowl with the savory texture of the pork and the crisp and freshness of the veggies. The fish sauce does a really good job of bridging all the different flavors! Really enjoyed the bits of peanut and fried garlic in the bowl. The staff was really nice, and the menu was really easy to follow. It seemed like a lot of people were ordering the boba, and the flavors look legit and authentic. Really encouraged that the Waco locals are willing to be adventurous and allow a place like Sugar Spice to offer traditional/authentic flavors. I'll be sure to get a boba the next time I come! 10/10 recommend. It's that simple. You won't be disappointed.

The atmosphere was pleasant, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. We tried the beef pho, which was served with a perfect amount of meat, noodles and broth. We shared an order of spring rolls that were absolutely delicious. To finish off the meal, we enjoyed a taro smoothie and taro milk tea with boba. The service was impeccable, making our first visit an incredible experience. If we're ever back in Waco, we'll definitely stop by again!

Today was the 3rd time I ate here. All 3 times I've gotten the vegan pho .. the first time was delicious & flavorful the last time & today lacked flavor not sure if they are making the broth different now. The rest of the ingredients in the pho are fresh tasting though! Not sure if I'll be going again

we had 3 people. Two got the beef Vermicelli bowls and was pleased. I got what I thought would be chicken ( popcorn chicken). It is not chicken. i can't for the life of me figure out what it is unless it's gizzard meat, but it is beyond gross. It comes to you in a little french fry baggy. It was cold and uneatable. I tired a bite and actually gagged. Another person tired a bite and immediately spit it out. So I didn't eat. 2 meals was $65 with drinks and it was a waste of money and food. not ever going back.

We've tried a few other Vietnamese restaurants in the Temple and Waco area but this one by far has the most savory flavors.

Drink: I ordered a large peach and mango fruit tea (no ice,…read more25% sweetness). The flavor itself could've been great, but the sweetness level was shockingly high, more like 100%. If it was made incorrectly, that's fine, but just offer to remake it. It's a $7 drink; the cost to fix it is minimal, and customers remember when you take the time to make something right. Because I requested no ice, the drink also wasn't filled to the top, which felt dismissive considering it was a full-priced order. Unfortunately I cannot drink super cold drinks or food. Seems silly to let a customer walk away with 2 oz shy of a full drink because you usually put ice Service: The staff member was polite when I walked in and even suggested one of their specialty drinks, which I appreciated. However, after I explained that I wanted a simple peach and mango tea and didn't want the specialty item that included strawberry and jellies, she continued to try to steer me toward her suggestion -- saying, "I think you'll like this better." I value recommendations, but once a customer has clearly declined, it's important to respect their preference. After receiving the drink, I realized how overly sweet it was and politely asked if it was truly 25%. I was told it might be because the boba had honey, but having visited hundreds of boba tea places, that alone wouldn't cause such a strong sweetness. I mentioned that I'm pregnant and watching my sugar intake, an opportunity to show care, yet there was no offer to adjust or remake it. When I politely set the drink down and left, there was no follow-up or acknowledgment. I didn't ask for a refund; I simply walked away. If keeping that one cup meant more than keeping a customer, that says something about priorities. Ambiance: Poppa Bear has a cozy café setup with Wi-Fi and a warm, casual vibe. When I visited, a few college students were working quietly on laptops. It's the kind of space that could easily become a community favorite. However, the experience felt like the team was more focused on avoiding loss than creating loyalty. In business, especially hospitality, a small margin for remakes or mistakes is simply part of good operations and it pays back tenfold in customer trust. Overall: Poppa Bear has real potential. The drinks and environment are inviting, but consistent service and responsiveness will determine its long-term success. A little attentiveness and flexibility go a long way in building loyal customers.

The boba itself was perfectly chewy and just sweet enough to complement the drink, not overpower it. I also really appreciated that, even with no ice, they filled my cup completely to the top. Simple, thoughtful detail and it makes all the difference. Service: The staff here was genuinely kind and patient. I asked a few questions about sweetness levels and tea bases (I'm mindful about sugar intake), and they answered every one with care, no judgment, no pressure, no upselling. They made the drink exactly how I ordered it and didn't try to push other menu options on me. That respect and attentiveness go such a long way.
