Being a "member" of a local winery in Healdsburg has grown tired. I recently went there for a…read more"complimentary" tasting after having enjoyed a glass of wine (2021 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, $12), a Cheese Box ($12), and a movie ("Pretty Problems", part of the Alexander Valley Film Festival) while sitting in Longboard's chill Barrel Room under a nice warm blanket. I'd enjoyed the whole vibe of Longboard Vineyards, with classic surfboards artistically mounted all over, and a friendly and welcoming feeling that permeated the place and the event I'd come for. When I followed that with a visit to the winery at which I'm a member I was met with what can only be described as the most rote of experiences. The server literally recited the exact same lines she'd used to talk about the wines on a previous visit and did so without ever looking me in the eyes to see that I was engaged. I wasn't. By the time I was headed back home I'd decided to cancel my membership at the second place I went to for what amounted to this reason: At Longboard I can get exactly what I'd like - a well-priced and satisfying glass of wine - in a comfortable and unpretentious setting. Yes, it's not a vineyard setting but it's a little off of Healdsburg's busy downtown and because of this, feels like a place you gain credibility for by even knowing it exists. Longboard Vineyards showed themselves to be a preferable choice to the place I was previously entangled with and I'll happily return.

David was as nice in person as on the phone when booking the appointment the same day. We had the choice of indoor vs outdoor for the tasting - both were nice spots but it was really nice out with the picnic table, pond, scenic hills, horses, heron, rat terrier Mikey, and the lounge chairs where we could enjoy our BYO lunch (Mexican from Roy's). Moondance has been in this location for over 20 years and co-promotes businesses in town, including the local Nepalese spot where their wines are served (Yeti), which is pretty cool. They only make 4 wines right now - two reds, two whites - and there were fans of all between the two of us, especially the Sauvignon Blanc, the Chardonnay (which was less buttery and less dry than others), and the Pinot Noir. The pours were the standard smaller size, which at least one of us appreciated, lol. Our tasting ended with a tour of the old cars, which at least one of us also appreciated. A nice couple of hours well spent in Russian River Valley.

We were greeted by Tyler who made us feel welcomed and at home immediately and gave us a brief history of the winery while serving up a fantastic Russian River Valley brut rosé. We were then handed off to Jamie, who was also well-versed in the wines and was very hospitable. We then proceeded to try some of their unique wines that you'll mostly find here at the winery only. As a somalier, I can tell you that these wines are very much on point. After that we took a stroll through their beautiful gardens with a glass of Sauv blanc. We wound up picking up a couple bottles to go and yes, the tip screen will be waiting for you like everywhere else. Definitely one of the best upscale wine experiences you'll find in the area. The drive was pleasant and beautiful, and it was a good day to be out. As we approached Le Crema, we were romanced by the surrounding countryside. As we got inside, we walked up to the tasting room and then took our wine and went outside and enjoyed the view and the tasting. It was so wonderful. I wound up buying a couple bottles to take home with me and so did my daughter. A pallet is a very strange thing to explain to people because my taste and what I think about that wines flavors and nuances it really varies from person to person. But I was so impressed with this lovely product. If I wasn't there, wouldn't be those two bottles in my car. I recommend this winery and the people that work there were very, very nice and hospitable. The drive was exceptional. Beautiful.

When we arrived I was amazed at how beautiful the estate is and the vineyards are well kept and breathtaking. As we entered the estate we were greeted my the host as my friends had reservations and since it was a hot day we did our tasting inside with a wonderful window view of the vineyards. We were each giving a glass of the Pinot Noir Rose which was absolutely refreshing and delicious this was actually my favorite wine. We had wine tasting of both Red and White wines. I am more of a Pinot Noir drinker than Chardonnay. Every tasting we had was really good, but no of them topped that fantastic Rose. Ursula, I believe was her name was our wine host is she was amazing and explained the different wines and the vineyards and where their grapes are grown. After out tasting we had a really nice picnic outside and enjoyed each others company. I would definitely come back without a doubt.

Friendly, casual and great wines…read more We began our tasting with viognier before journeying into the cave to sip their 2018 Unoaked Chardonnay (alongside their 2018 Chardonnay- personal preference for their unoaked Chard), 2028 Pinot noir (Sonoma coast and Bootleggers- prefer Sonoma coast), 2018 Zinfandel and 2018 red (Bordeaux) blend. Ended up purchasing a bottle of their Sonoma Coast Pinot and Red blend. Would definitely return to sample (with a clear palette!) their robust and diverse wine collection! I always come to listen to music- specifically jazz, which they feature quite a bit. The outdoor setting at this location is very nice. I could see it conducive for events or group reservations. I came with a friend to hear the music and there's plenty of seating. There's a huge redwood tree near the table which offers shade and there are also umbrellas in the sunnier locations. They were making pizza in their own pizza oven today- however for a 10 inch pizza I thought $22 was a little bit much. There are definitely a nice variety of Pinot's offered. However, I was in the mood for something chilled and I opted for their Rose of Pinot. I was pleased with the size of the pour but not sure I would order that variety again. I do appreciate that you can bring your own snacks there

I'm so late to writing this but I have to share my experience at Hanna Winery's Roses & Wine event…read moreearlier this year. The day started with a walking tour of Hanna's vineyards and facilities. Our guide Shelby was incredibly kind, fun, and knowledgeable sharing insights about the property and making everyone feel welcome. The event took place in the winery's massive rose garden. The garden was in full bloom with every color rose you could imagine. We had all the tools and vases we needed to create our very own floral arrangements to take home. The floral arranging experience was creative, relaxing and set in such a beautiful garden setting. After finishing our arrangements we returned to the main tasting room for an outdoor catered lunch paired with Hanna's wines. Eating and sipping among the vineyards was the perfect way to unwind, socialize, and share our creations. We ate tons of delicious food and drank some amazing wines. Every single detail of this event felt thoughtfully planned. The Hanna team truly went above and beyond with the hospitality with this one. Overall, I would give this event 100000/10. I have taken many similar classes but none have topped Hanna Winery's Roses & Wine event. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more opportunities to attend. Thank you Hanna Winery for such a beautiful experience!

My girlfriends and I decided to do a day of Wine Tasting for my Birthday. We all have always…read moreenjoyed Hanna wines, but had never actually been to the tasting room in Santa Rosa. It was our first stop of the day. We were the only ones there and went inside, asked to do a tasting which was $15 each. Most places would waive the fee if you purchase a bottle or two, the lady working said they do not waive it unless you join the wine club. We still agreed to stay and do the tasting. We took a table outside, beautiful views. The lady working brings out all 4 tastings on a cute little board. She drops off the wine and a paper showing what we are drinking. That was it. No explanation of what we were drinking, no back story on the wines, nothing. She never once came to check on us. Once we completed our tasting we gathered our money for the tastings and left the cash on the table. One of my girlfriends popped her head in and told the lady the cash was on the table. She rolled her eyes and was just like umm okay. We walk out to our vehicle and are getting ready to leave when the lady comes out knocking on our window saying we were short by $3! We left a total of $80 for 5 tastings and yea only a $5 tip which wasn't even deserved. Apparently they charge tax on tastings? And that's why we were short. Paid the $3, she rolled her eyes some more and we left. Never have had an experience like that before and won't be returning to that location.

Cathleen Vicini (owner) is a delight to visit with, not just about wines but her dogs, parrot, the Italian influence in their wines (her husband), much more... I'm just a good ole boy, wino in training, having moved here about a month ago from Silicon Valley (no place for ole men any-longer). The Trecini experience is different from what tourists seem to gravitate to, you know the disneyesque/romantic vision of a winery. Trecini is a tasting boutique where one enjoys privacy along with personal attention. Plenty of time for questions from a master at the trade. Tasting only whites, as red's chemical additives trigger a migraine, Cathleen pointed out many of their wines come from Italy with "no" additives. This led to me tasting one of their wonderful reds with no reaction. There was also a very interesting surprise when she introduced me to their Sparkling Rockpile Zinfandel. They partner with Mumm to produce this fun, delicious wine. I'm committed to the claims, purchased some. Where are they; Located on what some might call a side street from Downtown Santa Rosa. Highly recommend you give them a try.
