    Charcuterie board
    Aditi C.

We had a lovely tasting experience here yesterday. The grounds are dream like. We tasted several wines and they even added an extra one based on my preference. We added a charcuterie board which was delicious.

This was our second stop of the day. The grounds are beautiful. We were slated to be seated in one of their rose gardens, but due to previous rain (the day before and in the morning) we were moved inside. The wines were good and the atmosphere was fun. Mostly wouldn't return though.

Cheese board. Get the bread and their fig jelly ( our table referred to it as "figgy pudding" lol).

Jordan was extremely knowledgeable about the wine at St. Jean. There weren't many people at the time, however, tables did start to fill up after we were seated. Jordan ensured our food order came out on time and properly prepared. We did have people in our party who did not drink alcohol, and the lemonade he recommended was delicious! If you're wondering, it was a full bottle. So we were able to enjoy it in between tastings. I have been to Napa and been to wine tastings as the DD (I was pregnant every other time lol). But as my first experience, the cab frank was my favorite. The cab souv was my favorite, and I'm happy it was the last one we left off with. The views were beautiful from the drive up and into the chateau. Personally, I don't enjoy crowds, but I would not mind the ambience and understand if there were more visitors. I highly recommend a visit.

Sunday, May 7th, 2023 - Wine Club Flight

Date: Sunday, May 7th, 2023 Time: 3pm Party of: 4 Wine Club Flight: *2021 Fume Blanc ($35 retail, $28 club, $13 glass) *2018 Chardonnay ($55 retail, $44 club, $18 glass) *2018 Pinot Noir ($70 retail, $56 club, $24 glass) *2019 Eighty-Five Fifty-Five ($100 retail, $80 club, $34 glass) *2019 Reserve Syrah ($80 retail, $64 club, $27 glass) Chateau Experience Flight: *2019 Reserve Chardonnay ($65 retail, $52 club, $18 glass) *2019 Reserve Pinot Noir ($80 retail, $64 club, $20 glass) *2018 Reserve Merlot ($90 retail, $72 club, $30 glass) *2017 Reserve Malbec ($90 retail, $72 club, $30 glass) *2016 cinq cepages ($110 retail, $88 club, $36 glass) After lunch, my group did one more wine tasting. My gf's man is a member of the Foley Family portfolio, so he gets member tastings here. I'm pretty sure everyone did the wine club flight and I did the experience. When I was younger (like in the 90s?), my dad told me about cinq cepages. It was something like no 2 on the wine spectator list. So I wanted to try the most recent vintage. I have no idea how much the chateau flight cost or if it's just a supplement for club members. I just picked it since it had the 5 grapes on it. It was kinda gloomy and we sat outside. We may have been one of the few groups at the winery at this time. The tasting was fine. I don't think they deviate from the menu provided. I'm used to being able to taste whatever is open in hopes of finding a bottle I will like. I ended up getting the cinq cepages since I liked it. And it'll be fun to open it with my dad one day. Wish it was a nicer day when we came here since we were sitting outside, but a a nice winery in the Foley family. REVIEW #3545

What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL property! Chateau St Jean is straight from a story book, I felt as if I had transported to a winery in France. My group had a table reserved in a lovely, secluded courtyard to enjoy the wine options at Chateau St. Jean. They brought us some bubbly to sip on which was delicious. We also ordered some food off a lunch menu. I shared the Italian sandwich with my friend and and it was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, the wine was flowing, and the views were insane. The staff working was very kind and accommodating. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Service 5/5 - from the moment we checked in with Jenny through our experience with Richard and Rhonda we had a great time. We learned about the wines, grapes vines and history but they were so personable. Our visit was very pleasant with laughter. Food 5/5 - we shared a petite charcuterie between my husband and myself. It t was enough food for the 2 of us. It paired well with the wine. The wines were decent. Everyone's palette is different so I encourage everyone to come in and visit to make their own judgement. Ambiance 5/5 - beautiful surroundings. Picnic tables for groups to enjoy food and drink. It was so peaceful

Really great service and wine with a chateau courtyard view! We had a very sweet woman teach us about their wine during our tasting. I loved the pinot noir - it was so smooth and delicious. To add, their pear tart was so delightful and a perfect add to our tasting. I would recommend getting a tart with your wine. Great and calming vibes :)

Château St. Jean--a legacy brand, a name that once stood as a stalwart of Sonoma's white wines. Growing up, it was a fixture on dinner tables, a trusted name. But to be honest, it had been years since I'd given it much thought. That changed the moment we arrived. If you're searching for a wine-tasting experience in Northern California that blends history, beauty, and genuinely impressive wines, this place deserves a spot at the top of your list. The setting? Storybook. The kind of place that makes you slow down and take it all in. Lush gardens, fountains bubbling away, ivy-draped walls, and a tasting room that feels like something out of a European country estate. But we weren't just here for the standard experience. Thanks to our friends--wine club members--we were escorted past the main tasting bar to a private patio, perched above the vineyards stretching down toward the highway. A setting that could make even an average glass of wine feel special. But the wines were anything but average. The tasting kicked off strong with a crisp, beautifully structured Sauvignon Blanc--bright, balanced, refreshing. Then came the Chardonnay, even more impressive, a classic expression of the winery's long history with whites. No surprise there--Château St. Jean has been crafting award-winning whites for decades. But the real revelation? The reds. Unexpected. Complex. The kind of wines that stop conversation. Exquisite blends with depth and character, flavors unfolding in layers, leaving you wanting another sip just to figure them out. Wines that made us rethink what we knew about this place. Peter, our host, was the perfect guide--knowledgeable without pretense, passionate without overselling. He told the story of Château St. Jean with the kind of effortless expertise that makes you care about the vineyards, the winemaking, the history. This wasn't just a sales pitch--it was an experience, the kind that sticks with you long after you leave. After the tasting, we wandered down to the vines, took a few pictures, and, in the end, left with the largest haul of the trip. A testament to just how much we had been won over. Château St. Jean isn't just a winery--it's a reminder of why wine is meant to be shared, savored, experienced. If you're a wine guy or gal, don't overlook it. From start to finish, a sublime experience that lingers--just like a great wine should.

Lovely place - beautiful setting. Our server was Susan, who was fun and knowledgeable! Good wine, and a pretty place to spend time.

One of the most beautiful properties that we visited. The grounds were gorgeous and the factory/plant also had a great outdoor view. We came had a little lunch and continued with a tasting. Great service just a little forward trying to get the memberships for the wine club. Other than that very large an great property, indoor or outdoor tastings. The lunch was a bit over priced but I get it's sonoma.

This winery property is gorgeous. We are spending several days in Napa, and the plans include trips to a number of wineries. Tasting prices in general have soared, and we already know a number of wines that are favorites. We arrived at this property on a Wednesday afternoon, when things were not busy. They allow the purchase of a full bottle to be enjoyed on the property, so we bought a bottle of 2019 Reserve Chardonnay and headed for the garden, where they have tables. The landscaping is gorgeous, with fountains, roses, boxwood, and grape vines labeled so you can see the various varieties. We saw hummingbirds and soaked up the views. It was heaven.

I love this winery. We were there on a Monday late in the day. Sat at a table outside and were served 5 wines. All were good. While not the least expensive tasting ($50 per person) it was a lovely location.

There was a tasting menu that consisted of five wines. The two wines I enjoyed were the Checkerbloom Rosé, which after tasting became my favorite rosé, and Merlot Cuvee. During this visit I didn't purchase any wine because there was another winery we were visiting for a tasting menu. At that winery I preferred one of their red wines over the Merlot Cuvee from Deerfield. However I really loved the Checkerbloom Rosé. When I came home I ordered Checkerbloom Rosé online through Deerfield. I wasn't sure when I was going back to Deerfield. As I really like their one wine I wasn't driving to Deerfield just for the Checkerbloom Rosé. About the last couple of months I've been receiving emails from Deerfield Ranch Winery about the @Rose 2023 was soon to be sold out as it was selling for $10. I'm not going to order wine that I never tasted before. Before going to Deerfield I had to check online if the Checkerbloom Rosé was still available. Apparently it wasn't. Also the @Rose 2023 wasn't $10 anymore. On a hunch I decided to go to Deerfield. I went to Deerfield last week on a Sunday. As I entered the cave I went to the cash register. One of the workers Ben approached me. I asked him if @Rose 2023 was still $10. He answered yes. I also asked if the Checkerbloom Rosé was still available. He showed me the bottle. I decided to buy the Checkerbloom Rosé. Before buying I asked Ben if I could take a sip this rosé. It was sweet. Ben replied the @Rose 2023 is sweeter than the Checkerbloom Rosé, which is drier. I decided to buy three bottles of @Rose 2023 at $10 each. There are certain wineries that have specialties. For me during my two visits at Deerfield their rosés are better than from other wineries I've tasted.

Founded by winemaker and owner Michael Muscardini, the winery beautifully embodies his vision of bringing a sense of "la dolce vita" to Sonoma wine country by celebrating great wine and the simple pleasures of life. Open here in this historical 160 year old school house for over ten years, and in operation for over a decade and a half, Muscardini Cellars is most celebrated for their Sangiovese wines as their grapes for this varietal are sourced exclusively to them and them alone providing for a uniqueness that cannot be found anywhere else. What brought a friend and I here for a warm winter weekend wine tasting was the fact that Muscardini Cellars was one of over fifty wineries participating in Sonoma Sips for the second year in a row where local wineries throughout Sonoma County offer walk-in visitors a tasting deal of three to four wine pours for only fifteen dollars, and in this day and age is a real treat. With plenty of parking and plenty of open seating both indoors and outside on their front patio that overlooks the Sonoma Highway, tasting room associates Nicole and Bethany treated us like VIPs. With a welcoming splash of their 2024 Pinot Grigio which was crisp and cool and had distinctive notes of peaches and melons throughout, it was a easy breezy way to start our special tasting. For our second pour, we enjoyed their signature 2021 Sangiovese, which is sourced from nearby Alice Vineyards, which we learned was started by a woman named Sandy and sources her grapes exclusively to Muscardini Cellars. This wine leans more approachable with earthier notes and more rustic thanks to being grounded in character rather than a bold, Brunello-style expression. A nice Sangiovese that is balanced and easy to enjoy, which highlights its nuance and structure without overwhelming the palate especially when paired with a fresh margarita pizza or gnocchi. Our third pour was their 2023 Barbera wine, which was sourced from nearby Mendocino County. This "daytime" red wine was soft and elegant through the mid-palate, giving it a luxurious feel that balanced what is typically a bolder, more forward style of red. Its structure and earthier character would pair beautifully with traditional dishes from Italy's Piedmont region, especially those featuring truffles or porcini mushrooms. What we thought would be our final pour was their 2019 Fortuna, which is a wine that represents a friendship and collaboration between winemakers Michael Muscardini and Brian Wise, who started B. Wise next door. We learned from Bethany that Muscardini started his vineyards only as decor on his property but a neighbor told him he should start a winery with his harvested grapes. Fortuna represents a combination of grapes that Muscardini and B. Wise have over the past few years. With a little bit of everything, this super tuscan wine is geared towards a palate of American wine as it is not heavy in tannins and is more acid friendly, especially when served with a creamy herb or garlicky entrée. After our Classico Tasting Experience wrapped up, Bethany was kind enough to pour us a sample of their 2022 Zinfandel, which proved to be both approachable and well-balanced, not to mention reasonably priced at $58 a bottle. At Muscardini Cellars, the red wines are crafted with impressive balance and pair beautifully with hearty dishes. The tasting room itself is gorgeous, complete with an outdoor deck that overlooks Sonoma Valley and the nearby highway, creating a relaxed and scenic setting for enjoying their wines. Between experiences like the Classico tasting, participation in promotions such as Sonoma Sips, and their ongoing wine pairing dinners, it's easy to see why Muscardini Cellars continues to thrive, and why their success will carry on for many years to come.
