I realize now why I went to Suitsupply - it helped me justify spending $5k or more on a suit. I truly hoped that I could pay less for a suit and have similar quality. However, Suitsupply is basically the Taco Bell of men's clothing. It's not bad but it certainly is not good. It's a factory for tons of young people to go in and get a decent suit with adequate materials, but where it matters most, they fall well short. The average person wearing a suit from Suitsupply will look silly - not like a clown but like they just bought their first suit. I bet their tailor is good and it appeared she was working really hard - but it's not the tailor that takes the measurement, it's the salesperson. My salesperson clearly was not interested in building a relationship, rather, it's getting customers in and getting them out - like a factory, like Taco Bell. The subtle nuances in suit wear and fine clothing make all the difference in the world and it's the subtle nuances they clearly miss, and that's unfortunate. I will provide two images that I asked my salesperson to snap (right after he suggested the fit looked great) and that was the obvious verticle wrinkle along my spine. Sadly, it had to be me to ask to have an image snapped. When I saw it looked terrible right after he was wanting to pack up my suit and send me on my way, it was clear - they aren't looking for clients, they are looking for customers - like Taco Bell. Get people in, and get people out - does not matter how they look - it's a factory - like Taco Bell. On the rare occasion someone tells me a positive story about Suitsupply - I'll presume they wear suits that fit them like a kid in junior high school. Again, I bet their tailor is actually ok but it's salespeople that are the conduit to a good fit and clearly, it does not matter to them. The spine bunching and the uneven cuff was not the fault of the tailor - it was the fault of the bar soap sliver that is marked by the salesperson to inform the tailor of what they are to do to make it fit just right. I left with my suit today thinking that if I just bought it right off the rack without any adjustments, I would have been told it "looks great" as the salesperson took no ownership of my experience or the fit. My suit sleeves are at least 2 inches too long but with working button holes, nothing can be done. It goes half way down my hands and again, the salesperson did not point it out and did not care. So if you want to blend in and look like everyone else, look sloppy - buy their adequate quality suits that aren't tailored to fit. When I dress up, I want to stand out - no different than when I want a great meal, I do not go to Taco Bell. So now, I will go back to Brioni, Ermenegildo Zegna, Stefanno Ricci and be happy to have real professionals craft me a beautiful suit that is expertly crafted and tailored and I will never again consider going cheap and getting a Taco Bell suit when I want to look first class and stand out in a crowd. read more

We were having a leisurely stroll shopping in Georgetown and stopped by SuitSupply. We generally shop at the Tyson's location. We found this location to be very well laid out and orderly. They had several options that we had not seen at the Tysons location. We were warmly greeted and assisted by Maria. She was fantastic. She educated us on the different fabrics and suiting options and went above and beyond to make our impromptu visit great. We didn't find exactly what we were looking for as we were pressed for time, but we highly recommend this location and we will return to shop with Maria in the future. read more

One odd quirk that ruined everything else: There were DOZENS of options to customize my suit -- I have never known I had so many choices! But when I received the suit, I was horrified. I determined how many millimeters from the edge I wanted the stitches, the shape and color of the buttons, the shape of the lapel, and many other customized options. But there is a silly curved swoop on the top fake pocket, and I was never told about that. The most bizarre curvy swoop on an otherwise classic suit with straight vertical and horizontal lines. I was never given the option to have a regular top breast pocket, because there IS NO OTHER OPTION! Suit Supply FORCES all customers -- regardless of the many other style elements we are allowed to customize -- to have the one, single pocket design. And it clashes with the other lines I chose on the jacket. WHY??? I refused it. A lot of time wasted, and a potentially good business model, ruined by one odd quirk -- every suit HAS to have a boat shaped top pocket. DON't WASTE YOUT TIME. read more

Purchased multiple suits over a year ago (and more items since then) and just took one out for first time (had been in garment bag). I noticed a hole in the collar and asked for an exchange. Was told at store I had to contact customer service because of time since purchase. I called them and sent email with photos. Now they are saying the defect is from moths which I do not have in my house and it has been in the garment bag the whole time. Instead of simply replacing this item for a repeat customer, they are refusing. In a separate shopping trip, the tailor from Brooks Brothers also complimented the fit of the SS pants so i think my initial reservations were about the general more modern and form fitting style of suitsupply pants compared to my other, more high-rise and stretchier pants, than due to any potential fit issues. I ordered three custom shirts for over $500 from Suitsupply. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to move out of the original shipping address. The order still has not shipped, there is no tracking number, and the status remains in progress. Over the course of six days of communication with customer service, I repeatedly requested a change of address. They refused, citing tax differences between states. This reasoning makes little sense, as I've previously had Suitsupply orders shipped to both their DC store and the Tysons, Virginia shop with no issue despite me living in Maryland. When I asked for the tracking number so I could reroute the shipment through UPS myself, they refused to provide it. They also ignored my request to cancel the order. For a company that claims to provide premium service, the rigidity, lack of support, and unwillingness to help a returning customer is incredibly disappointing. Extremely poor customer experience. While I highly recommend SuitSupply for purchasing suits, I must strongly implore everyone to avoid getting anything tailored at their Georgetown, DC, location. My experience with their tailoring service was profoundly disappointing. Firstly, the salespeople, who are not professional tailors, are the ones responsible for sizing you up and placing the pins where they see fit. This lack of expertise was evident in the subpar alterations I received. Moreover, the cost for their alterations is exorbitant, far exceeding what you would expect for the quality of service provided. I was so frustrated with their alterations that I took a gamble and repurchased two pairs of pants separately. I got them tailored by a professional, and now my suits finally drape properly. Additionally, a common theme you'll hear is that if a suit doesn't form over your body perfectly, it's most likely due to it not being a custom-made suit. They then try to sell you on Made-to-Measure, which really is the best way to get exactly what you want. However, SuitSupply's M-t-M doesn't have the best quality controls, and it varies from store to store. Once again, definitely avoid getting anything tailored at this store. Ordered a $1400 custom gray pinstripe suit. Did a couple of fittings. When I received the suit I realized the pinstripes didn't line up at all. For a custom suit this seemed unacceptable. Customer service insisted that this was "normal" for pinstripe suits. I know that for custom this is not true. They kept promising me they would make it right and that they were most concerned with my satisfaction. Now they have ghosted me and insist that their "policy" is that pinstripe suits aren't meant to match. I would NOT recommend that anyone spend this kind of money on a suit that won't meet your needs. What I have learned is that they really aren't custom...they simply take measurements and tweak existing suit to fit you. That's it. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Bought a custom suit with zegna fabric. Suit was gray pinstripe. Quality is so-so, and not what I would expect from a $1500 suit. Collar stripes don't align with lapels. Sign of sloppy craftsmanship. Suit Supply offers well-cut, reasonably priced men's suits made from good Italian wool. Our sales consultant had an excellent sense of style and color and was responsive throughout the process. We were happy with the finished suit. One significant issue: Be very cautious about fit and tailoring. Our sales consultant was initially inattentive to fit and would have sold us a suit whose jacket was too short and too tight. He was happy to size up, though, and the suit we ultimately purchased fit well. Lessons: Men who shop alone should make careful and extensive use of the 3-way mirror. Men with an attenuated sense of style should bring a companion who can assess fit, tailoring and the finished suit. Finally, be aware that tailoring is an added cost. Horrible service, horrible overpriced products with a limited terrible selection, nonexistent value unless you enjoy being swindled and subjecting yourself to abuse. I was lied to and misled by staff to waste my time and pressure me into terrible buys which I have refused, but I am still compromised for all the time and effort I have wasted up to this point dealing with their ineptitude and bs. I've bought a few suits from this location. The customer service has been worse each time. I just finished receiving a tux. It was an absolute awful experience. My tux was supposed to be shipped to me. It wasn't, but no big deal mistakes happen. I call and they ship the tux to me. Except...they leave out the pants and shirt. Call again and inform them of this. They say they'll ship it. It never ships. I call again the next day. They don't answer (50% chance this location ever answers their phone). So I talk to customer service who tells me they'll talk to the store directly and that the following day the store will follow up with me. To no surprise, the store never contacts me. I call again. They have no idea what I am talking about. It could not be more clear that the Georgetown suit supply has zero care for its customers. I eventually gave up and just went into the store in person to pick up my stuff. And again, to no surprise, they had no idea about my order. They asked me confused when they grabbed my tux - "oh only the pants and shirt?" I need the tux for tomorrow. The shirt came so horribly wrinkled I am now spending an hour trying to steam it. It all began in March of 2021 when my wife bought me a lovely blazer for our anniversary... She knew it would not fit, but wanted me to have something to open. So that week, we went to suit supply to have it sized, and I decided to buy the matching pants. The entire suit was made and delivered to me in May 2021. I liked it so much I decided to purchase another suit, a custom dress shirt and two casual knit shirts. At this point, the score was Me: 1 suit purchased; 1 dress shirt and 1 suit being made; 2 knit shirts purchased. Go me! The custom dress shirt arrived first and was clearly intended as a joke, because it was made for a human shaped like an eggplant or a very large jelly bean. It was tight at the neck, short at the sleeves, and so baggy at the sides that another person could have joined me inside the shirt and we still would have had room to set up a tent and make camp for the evening. I sent that back to be remade. The custom suit then arrived and was awesome. I looked gorgeous and wore it to my sister's wedding. In the interim, I washed the knit shirts on cold and hung them to dry. One discolored so badly I had to throw it away. The other shrunk sharply; but hey, midriffs are in again, so.... maybe a fashion forward win? Updated score: Me: 2 suits! Suit Supply: 1 comedically mis-shapen custom shirt being remade. 1 shrunken knit shirt; 1 miscolored and shrunken knit shirt A few months later I realize, I never got my custom shirt remake back. I decided to visited Anju at Suit Supply for the first time after several recommendations from several business associates. My brother was in town from Maui and needed to order a suit while here on the mainland. He has a very unique build with wide shoulders and normally struggles in finding formal wear that fits appropriately. Anju was up for the task and worked diligently with him to design a custom suit that fit perfectly. He received his suit in Maui and has thanked me on several occasions for introducing him to Suit Supply. Based on that experience, I returned to Suit Supply to begin to update my business wardrobe. Anju planned an initial consultation where we determined the best suit styles, fabrics and accessories that I should incorporate into the plan. I ended up purchasing several suits, shirts and ties from Suit Supply and have received rave reviews from friends and colleagues over the last several months. Running around with their heads down not acknowledging customers, asking basic questions comes with a huff and puff. I bought a suit here earlier this year. When I went in, a salesman helped me immediately. He showed me the suits based on what I explained I wanted, he took my measurements, and I was done. Pretty quick, pretty easy. Tailoring was done in-house within a few days, and it wasn't unreasonably priced. However, when I went to pick up my suit, the experience was different. Gone were the moments of a salesman helping me out right away. In fact, this time it seemed like they were actively avoiding me. My guess is when you're about to spend money they're happy to help but after you've spent it, nobody wants to waste their time retrieving your suit and helping you determine if the tailoring accomplished what it set out to do. In my case, it didn't, and the suit slacks were not altered as needed, and so they didn't fit. I tried repeatedly to get the attention of a salesperson or manager but, as I said, *nobody* wanted to assist me and they instead went out of their way to ignore me or give me excuses for why they were too busy (even as they literally stood around chatting with each other). I eventually got frustrated and decided to find another tailor to try to do the job right. If you're the type that can buy off the rack with minimal alterations, the Suit Supply suits are very attractive. But if you actually need assistance I cannot recommend them. To summarize: - I made an appointment and got double booked so I waited 1.5 hours to get 5 minutes of help during the time I asked - got a suit and made alterations to fit. - made another appointment to fix the alterations because there were multiple issues. They cancelled my appointment and gave me another at the wrong time - I didn't like the alterations and they discredited my concerns - went to another tailor and they agreed with my opinion about how egregious the alterations were - then had to schedule 2 more appointments due to technical issues with their calendar. On top of all that they, the employees truly did not make me feel welcome or that they had any interest in helping my one of the many times I unfortunately had to visit to get my one purchase correct. Ordered a tuxedo online for in-store pickup and August the associate who "helped" me was the worst client experience I've had in a while. Didn't introduce himself when he came back with the suit, didn't ask what I needed it for or even how I prefer to have my suits styled. He was ranting to the other associates about how his client had the gall to come in for an appointment 11 while minutes late for an appointment. I think the fact that almost every other associate is booked out for days speaks for itself here ... The general unpleasant attitude seems to be a requirement for working here though - haven't had a single *nice* interaction with someone. I did hear an associate offer a client water - so maybe your luck will be better. There seems to be a general snobby vibe from the employees, which is funny since this is basically an upscale J-Crew. If you want to have a snarky attitude at least have the decency to work for an actual fashion house. read more

I attended Suitsupply private shopping event in December. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Once I was ready to purchase the vest and pant I was interested in I worked with Shane. He was very knowledgeable and attentive despite the multiple customers he was assisting. During my fitting Shane suggested a different size pant and had me try on a comparable color since the color I wanted wasn't available in the suggested size. The fit was great but needed minor alterations. He ordered the new size and color I wanted and I was notified promptly when it arrived. When I went to pick my order Shane fitted me for final alterations. I went to have dinner and received a notification that the alterations were complete. Not to mention I arrived 1 hr before store closed not expecting the alteration to be completed that day. I picked up my pants and headed home. They fit perfectly. Shane was great to work with. I walked in last week to get a new suit or two. I've previously gone to Men's Warehouse and other suit outlet stores. I've never been completely happy with those purchases. You usually have to trade off between price, quality, and fit. I decided to check out Suit Supply after doing some Yelp searches. I am more than happy with my experience here. I was immediately greeted by Anju who asked me all the right questions regarding my intent, needs, and wants. Every jacket I tried on fit like a glove, which is really uncommon for me. I have really broad shoulders and a narrow waist, but I didn't need any tailoring for the jacket I chose. I ended up getting 2 suits, a navy and a grey. The price is really good for the quality and fit you get. Plus I've never had better service than I received from Anja. She didn't try to push anything on me and answered all my random questions. The store is super clean, has a trendy layout, was not busy, and they even offer you coffee and make the process an event, not just another chore. Went here for the first time today after having a bad experience at the Suitsupply at Tyson's Galleria: I was supposed to get a suit altered this past Sunday and had an appointment at 5pm. I arrived at 4:55pm, style advisor told me he wasn't aware of my appointment at 5:20pm and apologized for the wait and that he would see me shortly. Its now 5:40pm, and I'm still not seen by my style advisor and now just wasted 45 minutes waiting around. I grabbed the suit that was delivered to the store and told them I would be going elsewhere to get my suit altered. Fast forward to today. I had an appointment with Anju at 11:30am. I arrived at the store early at 11:20am. Anju greets and welcomes me to the store upon arrival. Told her I have an appointment with her to get my suit altered. WIthout wasting any time, we begin the appointment, I get dressed into my suit, and Anju takes measurements and makes sure that every piece of the suit fits me properly. The pants were the only thing that needed an alteration. Its now 11:35am, and since I live in Virginia, Anju asked me if I could wait 15-20 minutes to have my pants altered. I agreed! While we were waiting, Anju provided her recommendations on the ties and pocket squares that would match well with my suit. Its now 11:55am, and I am finished with my appointment. I was able to have my suit properly fitted, buy a dress shirt, tie, pocket square, and get my pants altered, all within 35 minutes! If you're looking for a style advisor to help you with your needs, I HIGHLY recommend Anju. She has received other great reviews here on Yelp, which was the reason why I booked an appointment with her. The reviews were on point! Anju was very professional, punctual, and provided excellent customer service. Upon arrival, she offered me water and coffee. During my appointment, she was very nice and asked me how my day was going, if I had any exciting plans for the weekend, etc. No time was wasted during my visit today, and today's experience was a total 180 from the experience I had at the Tyson's Galleria location. Sure, this location is much farther from where I live, but it was definitely worth the drive. If I need any more suits in the future, I will make sure to come to this location and work with Anju again. Five stars. Let's be honest, the gentlemen of the District of Columbia simply can't dress. Take a look around you. Ill fitted khaki chinos, navy blazer with brass buttons, blue or white ill fitted mushroom cloud shirts, and square toed shoes. My father has been a customer of their online store and SoHo location for quite some time. The suits, using Italian grade material are put together in China, hence why they are able to sell quality suits at a lower price. If you are familiar with Uniqlo, this is the same concept. The store is well laid out, organized with everything a gent needs. Blazers, shoes, bags, suits, tuxedos, shirts, ties, and an alteration stand in the store. Just like the NYC location. Customer service for myself has always been great. FYI Suitsupply flies you out to Amsterdam if you work as an associate to train. Also, these suits are actually slim fitting. Not exactly designed for the typical fat American male. Bottom line, if you are looking for a quality suit at a reasonable price and/or are looking to stand out in the sea of navy blazers and khaki pants, Suit Supply is the place to go. When we arrived, we got paired up with Shane, and he was fantastic. He was down-to-earth, friendly, and knowledgeable.
