Traveled to Zora's on June 4th. Panicked (the date was approaching), I was looking for a formal dress to wear to a friend's Cotillion for her daughter. I went there during their late hour day after work, someone greeted me at the door and asked if I had an appointment and I said no, I was in deed of a formal dress. She then informed me that she could not help me because they moved their dresses to another part of the building (1hour ago) and weren't available for a couple of days and to take care. Okay this review may be a little bias since I did say yes to the dress here, but 10/10 experience. My family and friends and I had the whole upstairs to ourselves and all got to choose a gown for me to try on. There were so many beautiful dresses that made me look and feel incredible. When it came time to choose between two that I loved Teuta was not only gentle with me she read my mind! She knew which dress I loved but was worried to say it cause it was a bit different. Man did she me like a book and I'm soooo glad she did. It gave me the courage to say yes to the different dress! And one more important item, DO NOT SLEEP ON THE VEILS. They are showstopping gorgeous. I think we said yes to the veil before we said yes to the dress! I highly recommend Zoya's for brides! They are one of the few (if not the only) boutique in NoVA to carry the little white dresses (besides gowns) that I was searching for my civil ceremony. I shopped during their Amsale trunk show after contacting the store via Instagram to ask about their little white dress availability. I was so glad that I tried Zoya's because my consultant Amy went above and beyond to show me all their options, educate me on the timeline expectations/accessory options/pricing, and help me try on the dresses. Most importantly, I was not pressured to purchase or to make a decision at the appointment. Amy then helped me find a way to expedite the shipping of my dress when my event date changed to be much sooner than what I expected. She kept me updated on the shipping and contacted me as soon as the dress arrived for me to go in for a fitting. Their prompt communication reduced the stress I had and I really appreciated that. I had a total of 3 fittings before I picked up my dress, and the alternations service was also superb. My dress arrived 1 week before my event date and I was impressed with the speed and quality of the alternations. The seamstress had sewn in more support parts (like the back of a bra) so the bodice was much more comfortable and better fitted. I also picked up a necklace to go with the dress. Looking back at my holistic experience, I truly believe that no matter which dressed I picked or what size of wedding I had, they were committed in giving me their best customer service for the entire process. From the moment we entered the atelier, we were treated like the only and most important clientele- there was no one else in the shop and we were made to feel not only comfortable, but also valued. Amy and Doris were absolutely amazing at pulling gowns that matched what I said I wanted (A-line, no huge lace, sparkle, beading, or sequin detailing) and what they thought would also match the vibe and my body well. I wanted a classic (soooo many bridal boutiques now are busting at the seams with over the top lacy and sparkly dresses) gown with *some* fun/romantic details and that is exactly what I got. Amazingly, the very first gown at Zoya's ended up being the one!!! I know this is isn't everyone's experience and that it sounds too good to be true, but I fell in love with the very first one Amy helped me into- she pulled this gown specifically for my vision in mind and I was blown away by how gorgeous and perfect it was for me. She made me feel special and validated my feelings as well as taking the extra time to accessorize each gown to see it in all its glory. Since I wanted to make sure this dress was definitely the one and not jump the gun, we were encouraged by Amy to continue with the appointments at other dress stores and then come back for a 2nd appointment if this was indeed the dream dress. Zoya's understood completely my love for but hesitation in immediately going with the first gown I tried on. Every other store we went to was not even close to the level of service and experience that Zoya's provided. And because of that, I was not stressed that no other gown came close to *the one* because I knew it was waiting for me! I had the BEST experience at Zoya's. From the booking process to the visit itself, absolutely a dream. We had the salon to ourselves and felt so safe the entire time. The staff couldn't be any more professional or nicer. They set the bar high for bridal salons IMO. Prior to my visit, Zoya's sent the sweetest goodie box with a bride mask, VIP mask for my VIP, tissues, chocolate and sanitizer. I will never be able to thank Zoya's enough for coming to the rescue of my Matron of Honor dress for my sister's wedding in May. After two bad alterations by separate locations in Florida, I had given up hope and headed to DC with a dress that was not altered correctly and was so sad to be wearing. On Wednesday, my sister's planner suggested we call Zoya's based on their amazing google reviews alone. By Thursday, I was in for a fitting and they were completely reworking the top of my dress. By Friday, and a few more fittings later, my dress fit perfectly. Overall, I had a great experience at Zoya's Atelier. I ultimately did not end up selecting a gown from the shop, but I would recommend it to other brides in the area, with a small caveat. They have a great selection of high-end gowns in various price ranges. I also appreciated that when you book an appointment, you are the only bride in the store, so you get a very personalized experience and are not distracted as you try the different gowns. The only thing that detracted a star from my experience is that they do not allow you to take photos or video of the gowns that you are trying on. This makes it very difficult for you to look back the next day and decide between gowns, especially for a bride like me that doesn't live in the area and has to travel fairly far to come visit the shop each time. Also, to provide some context, the four other bridal shops that I visited all allowed pictures to be taken during my appointment. Aside from this, I definitely appreciated how accommodating they were with their appointment times. For example, the first appointment I had was for an hour and a half and I definitely ended up staying closer to two hours. I also had to reschedule my appointment one day before due to my flight being canceled, and they were very understanding. The young lady who was helping me during my appointment was very sweet and easy to work with, and helped me in and out of each gown, which I appreciated. Amazing experience - put yourself in Miss Zoya's hands and she will not steer you wrong. Though we didn't end up purchasing a gown for my mom there, the experience was really warm and encouraging. More importantly, Miss Zoya​ was able to steer my mom towards a style that she never thought would work for her but ended up being so flattering and appropriate. The wonderful thing about the atelier is that it carries a surprisingly varied amount of styles AND sizes, not just size 2's and zeros in what is currently in style. She curates a great selection of gowns in different cuts, from classic to more architectural. But definitely ask her about her Zoya designed gowns - there was this gorgeous confection of a dress that I just couldn't stop touching and admirng (ballgown, strapless, white and florals, with this gorgeous fall of fabric from the back. I wish I could give them more stars. Zoya's was the best wedding partnership and experience out of every single element of my wedding planning process. I could write a love story about them, but to make this review as helpful as possible for any bride, I am going to bullet it out below: 1. Environment: you feel at home the second you walk into Zoya's. Partly because of the building itself and the aesthetic they create, but more so for their friendly staff. Their people are everything. Overall, they provide a very high end experience with a casual and comfortable feel. 2. The service: it was so refreshing to work with a salon with strong systems and processes. It was actually one of the last studios I visited and I wish it was the first so I could understand what a well run salon should look and feel life. They are THE BAR. Everything was incredibly organized and personalized, versus some other salons that felt like a factory churning out dresses and brides. They keep an intimate setting and are appointment only so you don't need to fight for attention during your consultation. 3. Their gowns: they carried the most beautiful designers. I walked into a lot of salons that fit my price range but NOT the quality I was looking for, this was the first that did both. They also carried a very wide range of styles. There is something for everyone here! 4. One stop shop: they do everything! They obviously have a wide selection of bridal gowns, but in addition to that, they had beautiful evening wear, accessories of every kind, and do all their alterations in house with a phenomenal team. Not only did they take care of me, but my mother also got her gown from here as well. It was such a fun experience for us to do it all together! 5. The alterations: one of the things I was most anxious about were the alterations. I have heard horror stories of prices and poor quality. Zoya and her team are ridiculously talented! This is a place you can trust to do what you ask and also not over charge you for every change you need to make. Once my dress came in, they did an assessment of the potential changes and set the price up front! It was so nice to not have a bill every time we came in and for them to honor the price set up front. Also, they even do made to measure here!! 6. The people: they are highly educated, professional, caring, talented, supportive and kind. Zoya is incredible, I don't even know how else to describe her aside from calling her a magician!! She is extremely qualified and has a ton of experience with alterations, she has a perfect eye and made all kinds of recommendations for my alterations and changes to my dress that I didn't even imagine, she made my gown fit like a glove. You can't underestimate the value of her eye!! She was so patient with me and really helped me navigate the changes. It truly was a custom experience at a very reasonable price considering the amount of changes and attention she gave to my gown. I couldn't believe it. Zoya made my gown and my mother's gown PERFECT. Then there is Amy. Amy was the first person I interacted with at Zoya's and she made me feel like her best friend right off the bat! She was a great listener, helped me sort through all the thoughts and ideas in my head to find the perfect pieces for ME, she did not push me she just guided me which was very refreshing. Zoya is truly incredible. As my first time trying on wedding dresses, she made me feel so Comfortable, and her knowledge and insight was so valuable. She helped me narrow in on the right style and cut for my body, and gave so much individualized time ensuring I was able to see everything needed. Even though my family and friends couldn't be there, she helped me to FaceTime them in one of my dresses, and then pinned me back into a dress we'd already tried to FaceTime them in again. I just returned from my magical wedding and Zoya's Atelier played a huge role in making it so special. I bought my wedding dress at a bridal shop in DC and I didn't have the "wow" moment. I didn't lose the pounds I had hoped and I was dreading the dress experience, so I bought the dress that got the most positive reaction from my friends. When the dress arrived, I was less than enthused and decided I would see if someone else saw what I saw. I passed Zoya's Atelier while driving home from work one day. I did my homework and after reading her glowing reviews, I emailed for an appointment. Amy who is Zoya's daughter-in-law emailed me back immediately and scheduled me for an appointment. The following week I walked into Zoya's Atelier with my dress and Amy greeted me by name with a big smile. Zoya helped me into my dress and immediately saw what I saw-- I was uncomfortable and insecure. Zoya said the dress needed some work, but it was gorgeous and she could get it there. I left my first appointment optimistic and feeling a sense of relief. By my next appointment Zoya had ordered the correct size bra and showed me some things I didn't realize we're wrong with my dress and began pinning. As she worked her magic and got the dress pinned, I began to see my dream dress and I had my moment! I drove home that evening crying happy tears. My third appointment was magical. Zoya had made all the alterations and I felt like Cinderella. I walked out of the dressing room confidently and with a huge smile. At that moment I knew Zoya was brought into my life for a reason. So I was vulnerable and told Zoya my concerns and she said in her cute accent, Oh that's not a problem, we'll create boobs for you lol! All I have to say, is Zoya is like a Fairy God Mother. I'm not someone that really enjoys trying stuff on, but I can genuinely say that my experience here was fun, enjoyable, and relaxing. I would say the selection at Zoya's is quite broad. I guess I really need to start off by saying initially i was not looking forward to another day of trying on wedding dresses. This was the second place I came and my first time, well ended in tears at home later that night. I had made this appointment months in advanced and decided that what would hurt if I gave another place a try and maybe figure out what i wanted. Fast forward to my appointment, the day of again I was just not feeling it, but still went! I showed up, and much to my surprise they have their own parking lot! For me, this is huge! I was asked to fill out a little bit about my wedding and then Amy sat with me and explained all of the collections in the store. She asked me what I wanted and of course asked if I was open to try new things on, what I really loved is she told me she wouldn't put me in anything she couldn't take me out of! Yes, I know that's kind of weird but like I said, first time ended in tears at another place so this was something I was concerned about. Amy asked if I'd ever tried a "fit and flare" and I was hesitant but wanted to not limit myself so I agreed to try what she thought might look best. We picked about 4 dresses to try. What I LOVEDD about the next part I can't express enough. Amy brought me a bustier, spanx, and a comfortable pair of heels. I was blown away that she had this all available so you could really see yourself as a beautiful bride when you try these dresses on. It made a HUGE difference in how everything looked. We tried on one dress that was not my style, but then we tried on THE dress. Amy zipped me up in a beautiful fit and flare and I instantly felt like a bride. My waist looked small, my tummy was flat and I almost cried looking at myself in the mirror. I never thought that would be me, but it was and it was the best experience I have ever had! Of course we added a few accessories and I couldn't take the smile off of my face. I also couldn't thank amy enough. I went from absolutely dreading finding a dress to not wanting to take this dress off and feeling like a beautiful bride for the first time! I am over the moon with the service I received and I truly can't thank Amy enough for all her help! Zoya's was incredible. I live a block away and I always look into the windows while walking by. My future sister-in-law is getting her dress altered there so I decided to just go for it and book an appointment. Amy was very quick to respond to my email and I was able to book an appointment! Zoya's was my second dress appointment so I went in with a better idea of what I wanted...or so I thought. It was only me and my mom in the entire place (including Amy & Zoya). It was a calm, personalized appointment and I didn't feel rushed which was so nice. I let them know what I wanted and what I didn't want - I don't want to give away too much just in case my Fiance sees this review but the dress Zoya put me in was the exact opposite of what I thought I wanted. She listened to everything I liked and didn't like about each dress and she picked the last dress for me to try on and it was (is) absolutely perfect. I was in shock! With each dress, she pinned them perfectly to the shape of my body unlike the last consultation I went to, they used the Home Depot clamps to hold back the dress which was very difficult for me to look past. She matched a veil to each dress that would compliment it and made each dress try on so special. Lastly, I had my first, non stressful wedding dream and I was already wearing my dress down the aisle. Really fantastic little boutique with a variety of dress options at different price points, and kind, attentive employees. I started my wedding dress shopping at Zoyas - it was the first store I visited. I went without any real idea of what I wanted, which I know can be difficult for the stylists to work with. Doris was fantastic, pulling a variety of different fabrics and fit options (as well as a few just for fun!), and really helped guide me to figure out my personal style. For my second visit after I had narrowed down my criteria, Doris had several dresses picked out as soon as I arrived that totally fit the bill, including some new ones that just hit the floor. All the gowns are beautiful and of a high quality, and I would highly recommend Zoyas to anyone wedding dress shopping! read more

I didn't get a dress here, but I was so blown away by this place that I'm writing a review anyway. This was the sixth salon I visited (Ellie's, Elegance by Roya in Alexandria and Tyson's Corner, Global, Bridals by Natalie) and was definitely the best of the bunch. The salon is a modest size, but very charming with an almost homey feeling. They have a decent number of highly curated dresses (definitely more in the expensive range I think), though not an overwhelming number overall. I suspect each gown was handpicked by Zoya and Amy, and they know the ins and outs of every one. They also have shoes, jewelry, veils, accessories, and evening wear. I had a Saturday appointment and was just by myself -- my entire bridal party and my family all live out of town. In other salons, I've felt kind of shoved to the side being by myself while other brides had an entire crew take over the space. Not here. Amy gave me her undivided attention, talked to me about what I was looking for, what I've like about dresses I had tried on, and which specific designers and dresses I should consider. After I had pulled some, we went back into the changing room where she took charge, handing me a pair of shoes to wear and having me try on dresses in a very specific order. She pinned me into each dress (no clamps here!) and matched it to the perfect veil so I could get the total look. Then we took a ton of time with every dress. I never felt rushed at all. I even walked up and down the store so I could see how I moved in each dress and so I could imagine walking down the aisle in it. And Amy was such an expert! She made THE BEST suggestions based on what I was liking and not liking, she knew what alterations could and could not be done, and she provided honest (but tactful) advice on what worked with my body. I was blown away by her passion and her expertise. I felt like I was in utterly competent hands the entire time. I ended up not getting a dress I fell in love with here because my mother hated it, and it was a little too far out of my budget. However, I'm strongly considering taking the gown I did purchase to Zoya's for alterations, as I completely trust them to do an incredible job. And, I trust them to style me impeccably with the perfect veil, shoes, accessories, etc. Overall, I only have two critiques. (1) They don't let you take photos in the dresses because their designers don't allow it. This was a huge bummer because I was doing the whole dress shopping thing by myself, and I wanted to get the opinions of my bridesmaids and family before making such an enormous purchase. Amy was great about helping me Facetime my mom as I tried dresses on, but I couldn't really Facetime the entire crew, and I had nothing to reference later on when I was making a final decision on which dress to get. (2) You have to pay the full amount upfront. I know some salons do this, and honestly it makes sense for Zoya's because this is a small, family-owned business after all. But, definitely be mentally prepared for it! read more

I purchased my wedding gown through an upscale bridal boutique in New York City and had it shipped to me for alterations. I chose Zoya's based on her excellent reputation and reviews, and had no idea how grateful I would be that I did so... After trying on the gown several times and poring over photos of me trying on the sample, Zoya and I came to the unfortunate conclusion that, despite the bridal boutique's insistence otherwise, they had sent me the WRONG GOWN...it was several sizes too big in every area and Zoya even found a modesty piece that had been added to the gown's bust. Given that the dress had also shipped almost a month late and the wedding was mere weeks away, this was one of a bride's worst nightmares. The good (amazing!) news is that Zoya and her talented seamstress managed to completely transform my gown and make it fit like a glove. This gown had multiple layers of sheer embroidered lace and minimal structure, and they took it from a muu-muu to a mermaid shape dream -- I can't tell you what a couture feat they pulled off. And just as important, Zoya and her entire staff were SO pleasant and reassuring. They promised I would look and feel amazing on my wedding day, and they delivered. Aside from my obvious freak-outs along the way, the entire process was seamless. It was easy to make appointments, there was always ample parking and the showroom carried everything I could have needed, from shapewear to cups to jewelry and shoes. I cannot recommend Zoya's Atelier highly enough for bridal alterations. Zoya and her team are absolute professionals and perfectionists, and you can rest easy in their hands, whatever comes your way. Do not walk, run to Zoya's for all of your bridal and formal wear needs. Words do not begin to express my love and affection for Zoya and all of the wonderful ladies at Zoya's Atelier. The whole process has been incredible. Start to finish these ladies are ! When first selecting a gown, Amy was kind, and patient while I tried on practically the whole store. I absolutely love gowns and she was gracious and made me feel like a princess. There an so many incredible styles to pick from. Zoya has such an incredible eye for fashion. She's curated, honestly, the best selection in the DC area. Trust me when I say this as I visited most of the salons in town. I even went up to NYC to go to Kleinfields and they can't hold a candle to the experience, attention, and care you'll get at Zoya's. She's got dresses on her showroom floor that women of all sizes can actually try on and in styles that will really compliment each size. I'm talking all sizes, size 0-plus. I'm telling you this woman has a gift. Once I had selected my gown it was on to the waiting game. It delightfully arrived and on March 13th I had my first fitting. Adele was so welcoming helping me get into the gown while Zoya and Olivia were busy being complete experts at alterations. I had a number if modification added to my gown. I wanted a corset put in and the off the Sholder sleeves to be removable so I could dance. With grace and an incredible eye for style the pair expertly crafted the gown to meet my needs. I'm an opera singer who loves gowns and has spent a fair amount of time working in costume shops helping with costume builds. When I say these women are magicians I mean it. Well as you guessed it COVID hit and all hell broke loose in the world but not at Zoya's! They were on the phone with me checking about my wedding date communicating beautifully. As soon as they were able to open, in I went for a fitting alla mask and they made it a wonderful experience. My alternations came out perfectly and my gown fits like a glove. I feel more stunning in my gown than I possibly could have imagined. Every tiny detail was though of and addressed. If you can't tell, I adore these ladies Please, please, go here for your dress you won't regret it. Ps they have an amazing formal wear section and my mom who is a plus size found the most amazing incredible gown with Zoya. They made her dress fit like a glove. It was incredible to watch their magic. They practically rebuilt the dress after it arrived from the supplier to be a made to measure incredible gown for my mother. I shopped for my wedding dress here a month ago, during COVID, and had a wonderful experience! I worked with Adele for virtual appointment (setup for that was great and she did a great job) and Amy for my actual appointment. Amy did a lovely job selecting dresses for me and helping me in and out of them-I was worried I'd feel self-conscious as a plus-size bride, or there wouldn't be options for me to try on, but there were plenty, and I felt comfortable and beautiful. Thank you, Amy! Their commitment to safety and customer service are both exemplary. I ended up finding my dress somewhere else, but can't recommend this place highly enough. They do a lovely job! A pretty frustrating bridal appointment at Zoya's. The only reason I gave her two stars instead of one was because she let me come much earlier than my scheduled time. The shop itself is very pretty. I sat down and she had me fill out a form about what kind of dresses I've tried on and what I'm interested in. I am pretty sold on an a-line dress as it's what I feel most comfortable in from both a body perspective and being able to move around freely for the entirety of my wedding. Zoya was quick to tell me that a-line's would not look good on me because I'm short and proceeded to let me know why each dress I picked out from the racks to try on was the wrong choice for me. Right then and there I realized this appointment was going to go terribly. I picked out a few dresses I wanted to try on regardless of her opinions and wasn't a huge fan of them for various reasons (too heavy, too much beading, not the right neckline, but none of these issues were Zoya's fault). She asks if she can put me in a different style dress to try out and I say yes, of course. In general, I like to trust bridal consultants' opinions because they've been doing this for a while. She puts me into a fit and flare dress that hugs my body all the way down which is something I said I wasn't interested in because I wanted to be able to move freely and comfortably on my wedding day. She tells me that this is the type of dress I should be wearing on my wedding day because that's what looked good on me. Thanks for the opinion, but I think the bride should decide what looks good on her and is right for the wedding day. The dress was strapless which I didn't want, so she pins some straps on to show what it would look like. She does off-the-shoulder which I told her I didn't like as it wasn't particularly comfortable and so I kind of move them up to see what it would look like with regular straps. She tells me to stop pushing them up and that this is what looks good and sexy. She then tells me that when I purchase a dress from her, she'll do all of the styling as well to make sure I look good on my wedding day. The whole appointment was just pushy, uncomfortable and one of the least welcoming bridal salons I've ever been to. I understand that Zoya may be a "professional" but there's a line between consulting with a bride and telling a bride exactly what she should be wearing and what she looks good and bad in. I ended up finding a lovely dress at another local boutique later that day. read more

I recently got engaged this past year and was looking for the next thing to check off my ever growing list of 'wedding to-do list'! My fiance and I were commuting home one day and in the midst of missing the green light, I looked to my left and realized, "OMG, there's a random bridal store that just opened up!" Of course, with my intuition and superstition, I screamed out, "THIS IS DEFINITELY A SIGN, I must go here to try on my wedding dress!" I quickly rushed into my home and googled the store -- they recently had their grand opening! I quickly made my appointment via email and was confirmed almost instantly. On the day of the wedding dress fitting, I walked on over with my maid of honor, my dearest sister, and was greeted with the biggest smile and welcome -- great start! We were told to go ahead and browse and pick out what I liked -- no pressure! As we were picking out a few dresses that I wanted to try on, Amy asked if we wanted champagne, well yeah! Of course! This definitely brighten our already optimistic mood :) Amy also gave us some feedback and suggestion on a few gowns I would have never thought about trying on, she's great! Before heading to the fitting room, Zoya came down and introduced herself to us! The fitting was great, Amy provided shoes for me to use to try on with my dress, it was perfect. I tried on a few Suzanne Neville and one Ian Stuart dress, they were all stunning! There's a video online that shows Zoya handpicking the dresses in London herself! I had first been to Zoya's Atelier when my best friend was getting married. They helped her find the most beautiful dress and were lovely throughout the whole process. So when it was my turn to go shopping for wedding dresses I knew I had to go to Zoya's as well. The process of trying on dresses was something I was extremely nervous about due to fears of not liking myself in any dresses. Amy and Zoya immediately left me feeling comfortable and supported while trying on various styles of wedding gowns. There is a body positive atmosphere in the atelier and Amy has such an empowering way of supporting each bride find their dress. Once I had my dress, communication and coordination for fittings was easy and seamless. We were able to book those appointments enough in advance for my mom to travel from SC to be there with me as well. The alterations were amazing an the dress fit me like it was molded specifically for my body. Zoya and Amy are amazing! I got my dream dress, and felt confident, with no second guessing through the whole process. Both women have a stylist's eye and helped me find my dress based not just on the styles I suggested, but the vibe of my wedding and my personality. In my first consultation, they each pulled a dress by the same designer that they thought best suited my descriptions, and were subtly taking bets on which I would prefer. In the end, it was a tie, as I ended up having MY dress made to incorporate the aspects I liked most from each dress. It still blows me away, Zoya sketched the dress and sent it to the designer, and I got to walk down the aisle in my perfect dress. Hands down the best bridal-related experience I've had to date... I actually feel guilty that I found "the one" somewhere else because I want to give Amy and Zoya my business! Amy is lovely and makes you really feel at home. The dress selection is smaller than some shops nearby, but the options are beautiful and Amy does a fabulous job of helping you find things that'd work well for you... and work they do! She doesn't rush and instead takes the time to help you pull it all together - she clips you up, adds jewelry and a veil, gives you shoes and a bustier - so you can truly visualize the complete look.
