My sister said she loves coming here with her husband so we stopped by Sul & Beans after dinner. I decided to try something new and ordered Taro Bingsoo for us. I think we all regret ordering this one because there is nothing inside or at the bottom. Just ice! There's mochi and red beans on top, but that's it. They've tried other flavors and there's always stuff inside. I would recommend mango and black sesame instead. We also had to walk a bit from the parking structure because they blocked off parking at the entrance. I'd to try Oreo Bingsoo next time.
Haven't been back in a while, and unfortunately, tonight's visit for bingsoo left us slightly disappointed. We ordered the mugwort bingsoo, hoping for that fresh, distinctively earthy and grassy flavor. However, the mugwort powder itself seemed to contain added sugar, and the red bean topping was also on the sweeter side--so much so that I actually had to scoop it out. Additionally, the shaved ice itself tasted quite light and lacked the rich, milky flavor we remember from back in the day. Hopefully, it was just an off night, but the recipe definitely feels sweeter and less creamy than it used to be.
One of my go-to dessert spots! Sul & Beans is located within a sprawl of restaurants, dessert shops, drink spots, and the like. It can get really busy here, but I can usually find a parking spot within 5 minutes or so. There is as much seating as possible crammed into the somewhat small dessert shop as well as outdoor seating--it can get really busy here, so be warned. The menu covers mostly Korean-style shaved ice desserts, dessert toasts, and some drinks, including a couple different matcha drinks. Their flavors range from popular fruit ones (like mango or grape) to more traditionally Asian flavors (red bean, injeolmi). Once you order, they give you a little pager buzzer for the wait. I find that the drinks and toast come out quickly, but the shaved ice can take a little bit longer. I have really enjoyed everything I have tried here--the shaved ice comes with a tray and a little dish of condensed milk (and you can ask for more if you prefer it). I recommend sharing it with one other person, as it can be difficult to finish it solo before it begins melting. In addition to the pretty toppings, they also layer the toppings into the middle of the shaved ice. I 100% recommend visiting if you don't mind it being slightly crowded. The prices are generally reasonable, and the quality of the desserts is high. There are occasionally seasonal or new flavors, so it's always going to be a fun experience. I come here somewhat regularly with friends or my partner and will be back again soon.

If the service were a little faster, this would be a solid 5-star spot overall.
I've been coming to this place for the past 5 years and it's my moms fav spot. I'm in love with all their bingsoo flavors but the matcha, black sesame and ube are another level. There's thin layer of sweet beans in between and and on top, paired with rice gelly pudding makes the ice cream 10 times better. I always leaving wanting more :(. Very organized store, there's complimentary water. Very clean ice cream spot.
My friend introduced me to this Korean dessert shop. I love Sul & Beans, this place has some of the best bingsu in the Bay Area. Parking can be tricky as the lot isn't big enough for how many popular restaurants there are in the area. It's always packed at this location and the wait can be up to 20 minutes but it's so worth it. I love asking for extra condensed milk or cream on the side. The strawberries are so fresh, and bring a lot of the flavor. You really can't go wrong with any of them, they all are amazing. Perfect for 2-3 people. The staff is nice as well, just know what you want when you're at the front of the line as they are busy and just trying to keep the pace going. Will forever recommend this place!
This was my first time having Bingsoo...shocker lol I just never had the chance to try it. I went with some friends and the desserts are super enjoyable and refreshing. Also not too sweet! I'd totally return if I'm in the area all the flavors are straightforward.
Spacious restaurant space with lots of seating. You order at the counter and sit down with a buzzer. Very aesthetically pleasing 3D models of each of their bingsoos at the front. The portion size is big enough for you to share with 2-3 people. However, I felt like the bingsoo was a little lacking. The ice portion isn't as milky as some other stores and overall it tasted like artificial sugar that was hard to finish. Still a nice option if you want something sweet after dinner but perhaps share it with 1 more person than you're planning to so that it stays short and sweet.
Always nostalgic for me since I'd come here often in high school. This place is always crowded, and understandably so since it's a good sweet treat option. Appreciate that Sul & Beans is one of the sit-down dessert spots that is open late. We came at 9pm on a Thursday and it was still full inside, but the dessert always comes out quick. We got the strawberry cheese shaved ice. The presentation is always beautiful with a generous amount of fruit and syrup. While there's better shaved ice textures out there (this one is slightly icier if that makes sense), I do still think this one is soft and fluffy enough. It's on the less-sweet side and is a lighter dessert so you luckily don't leave feeling super stuffed. Always a great satisfaction for my late night, post dinner sweet tooth :)
Not a bad place for bingsu but it can get really crowded. They typically only have 1-2 server so there is sometimes a wait on weekends or dinner time. I always go for the fresh strawberry bingsu and it comes with 4 mochi cubes. Sometimes the mochi is frozen cause the ice cream is too cold but their bingsu is not too sweet. You can also get extra condensed milk on the side and free water to wash it down. The place is really clean for how busy they tend to be and there is a good amount of seating since you can sit outside as well. Just warning their coffee is really strong. Otherwise really nice place for that sweet craving
Rude service. We are standing right in front of cashier and she's doing some kind of refund but don't get any kind of acknowledgement. Stood for a few minutes just staring at her as she looked annoyed at some refund, didn't say hi or nothing. Never felt so dismissed, she didn't even say sorry for the wait or I'll be with you in just a minute. In my job field I don't get to choose to be rude like this to people, no human decency anymore I guess. Service like this makes me want to not even come in even if I like the food. Super disappointing.
Had heard a lot about Bingsoo and decided to try it here. The dessert itself was very disappointing and not sure we will want to try it again. For starters, Sul & Beans was quite crowded and noisy for a Wednesday evening. They were also grossly understaffed so getting one dessert took us 35 minutes of waiting. And the wait was so NOT worth it. The mango bingsoo we ordered was bland and tasteless. Mangoes on top were not fully ripe and not sweet at all. The milk shave ice was plain, again tasteless, just cold. Very disappointed! At least good service might have made the evening better but it was not meant to be. Will not be returning here.

Sul & Beans always hits. I came by an hour before closing, so some patrons were leaving as I arrived and my party was able to sit fairly quickly. The cafe does feel a bit cramped and the shape of the building enhances everyone's conversations by 10x so it's always loud inside. But the shave ice (bingsu) here is so delicious, smooth, and the wait isn't too bad if it's not a busy night. My party ordered my personal favorites: matcha red bean and injeolmi. The matcha red bean is probably the best flavor on the menu. The earthy flavors pair so well together and it's not too sweet. The injeolmi bingsu isn't very sweet either but it is on the drier side. I usually just ask the employees for extra condensed milk to pour over. There's a reason it's always packed in here! read more

Decent spot for shaved ice with generous portions. We most recently tried the sesame shaved ice, but it was a little too bland and I was hoping for a stronger sesame flavor. That said, it's a good place to bring the kids or hang out with friends. The generous portions make it easy to share, and it's a nice casual spot to grab dessert. read more

Unfortunately the employees gave me the wrong order. I had ordered the strawberry matcha bingsoo and I had gotten the strawberry cheesecake. Pretty disappointing despite waiting 20+ minutes. read more

Pleasantly soft snowy shaved ice. Whereas I find the Hawaiian and Italian versions too hard, sugary, and bland, this Korean version is far more enjoyable. Strawberry shaved ice was light and refreshing. The sweet milk sauce came in the side, which was nice so I could control the sweetness level. It was a particularly warm day so the cashier warned us it would be a 25 min wait. Seating available inside, though it can get loud. read more

Tried sul and beans for the first time with some friends and thought the flavors they had were so solid! Green grape: tasted creamy with fresh grapes all throughout with some aloe chunks inside Black sesame: mochi on top with a solid sesame flavor Strawberry: my personal favorite because there was fresh strawberry and a bit of the strawberry jam or puree inside that doubled the strawberry flavor. We didn't even end up using the extra condensed or evaporated milk. I would definitely come back to try the mango. I was super sad that it was out of stock. If I remember correctly I think each one was around 12$ which is pretty good ! read more
Taro bingsoo and the injeolmi toast! Shared these 2 dishes with 3 other friends and it was the perfect amount. If you're looking for something refreshing and not too sweet, this is for you. The toast is a bit sweet and savory. The bingsoo is perfect for a warm sprint day, or any day in CA Overall, this place is good and solid, but I wouldn't say it's anything incredible. If you're looking for a location to eat not-too-sweet desserts, hang out with friends, or just find something to do, this is one of the places to be. Would I come back again? Sure, but I wouldn't seek it out. read more

Tried the Bingsu today and it was very average honestly. The milk shave didn't have much flavor, and the cheesecake pieces were mostly just crust with barely any actual cheesecake. Kinda disappointed with the quality since this used to be one of my favorite dessert spots. read more
Improved quality Just wanted to provide an update. It's been awhile since I've been here and my last experience was pretty mediocre. Stopped by here again and got the berry yogurt bowl which seemed significantly better than last time. The fruit was fresh and the yogurt infused well with the snow. They also provided the condensed milk on the side for your own titration which was a nice touch. The portion is still on the smaller size, but the price is commensurate for the portion so can't complain too much here. read more

We came here on Monday afternoon, we order the ice and the toast, we come here a lot, when the sever bring the toast out is burn, looks like black, I told her to remake a ,she is so mean, very bad attitude, she continue to say that's not burn , so so so so mean ! Came here for bingsu after seeing how great it looked on Yelp. I ordered the mango bingsu and the choux cream toast. I had high hopes since the place was busy, but unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with the taste. While the presentation was pleasing, the mangoes were not the soft, sweet Asian mangoes I expected, they were hard and sour. The shaved ice was also underwhelming, as it didn't have that light, melting in your mouth texture and instead felt very icy. The toast was decent, with a nice buttery flavor, and the cream wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but I wouldn't come back read more
Came in at about 9 on a Monday night and ordered the Strawberry and Cheese Bingsoo! Short wait with only a few people in line but quite a few orders stacked up. First time i came here I ended up re ordering so i could try another flavor (back in 2020) today I couldn't even finish the one. Not sure why but the strawberries were really sour and even though the employees were kind enough to give us another cup of the diluted condensed milk- the bing soo wasn't quite sweet enough. The cheesecake was also kind of flavorless. Overall it was pretty busy/loud in here. Service was fine but it seems like the two people on staff were also working the somi somi next door so there was a bit of a wait for everything- dessert then the extra milk then the to go container. Def needs some work to get back to where they were. read more

I wasn't impressed. $15 for a hill of ice, topped by red bean paste and a piece of cut mochi, cascaded by sesame powder and some nuts. All squeezed into a small bowl. The matcha latte tasted just like my home made one, without sugar. It was fine. It was a popular spot attracting younger crowd and family alike. Nice service. The male staff didn't let me tip as first timer. Lovely and robust atmosphere to sit, relax and chat. The social animal side of human's approves, even though you know you are paying hefty price for ice. read more

My go-to Korean bingsu place! The shop is nice and bright, located right next to Somi Somi in the Main Street Cupertino plaza. Parking can definitely be tough, especially on weekdays, but there's a lot and garage nearby. It can get super crowded and have long wait times, but I always find that it's worth it. I've been coming here for years and the Oreo bingsu is my go-to flavor. Not only is the bingsu delicious, it's one of the cheaper bingsus in the area. I've noticed other bingsu shops have significantly higher prices, so this stays my go-to. read more
Love bingsoo and Korean shaved ice! This spot is located conveniently in the main Cupertino area with plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking isn't too bad but definitely a walk from the lot. The inside is a bit small and there wasn't AC in the day we went but overall nice spot to go to for a quick treat. We ordered the black sesame and mango bingsoo. The mango had some bits that were super sweet while others were biter just based on the mangos they used, but still was good overall. I think compared to other bingsoo shops, I thought the price was very reasonable. Overall, will be back! read more
My favorites are mango and earl grey! Wait time takes a while as there are always a lot of people but it's possible to snag an indoor seat if you wait. Or just take a nice stroll around the plaza with your buzzer while you wait. Parking also kind of sucks in that area but we tend to park in the other plaza and walk over to this one. read more

Clearly this place has a horrible system for managing orders. Everybody in the store waited for like 45 minutes and then the employees filled all of orders simultaneously, and got mad when customers walk up to the counter when our buzzers went off. Here was my bizarre experience with one of the workers: The worker - Jimena - was rude and clearly very stressed out. So I can see our order is ready (it looks visually different than all the other orders that were prepped, like the other trays were all one matcha bowl, my tray was 2 mango bowls) and I come up to the counter, put the buzzer down cuz it's going off flashing red. She takes the buzzer and stacks it with the others, then asks me what the number was. When I don't know, she gets angry with me... Like that's literally her job?? Anyway she proceeds to chew out all the customers standing there trying to get their melting ice bowls, telling us this is why they have a buzzer system (she took my buzzer?!). But I really feel like you shouldn't fill all the orders at once and then get mad at the customers for your own bad system. Also I could see my two mango bowls right in front of me bc we were the store was empty when we came in so we were the first order filled, and again all the other orders were different. Eventually I'm like ok this worker is just angry and stressed and taking it out on the customers so let's get my food and go join my friends. But here's the cherry on top - once we finally got our two shaved ice bowls, she only put down one container of condensed milk. BUT when I requested another she was so weird about it, and said that she can refill it only once it's empty. Honestly just rubbed me really the wrong way and felt like a power trip. Oh and the bowls weren't sweet and the mango was not sweet. So that was great too. Don't recommend. If I could give zero stars I would. read more
I came here on a weekday after dinner to grab dessert with some friends. The line was quite long and it took a while to get your order but they give you a buzzer so you can sit down while you wait. We got the cheese bingsoo which is actually strawberry cheesecake bingsoo and the green tea red bean toast. The strawberry cheesecake bingsoo was delicious and had plenty of cheesecake pieces. The green tea red bean toast was not the best. The toast was burnt so the charred bread taste overwhelms the sweet red bean. The acoustics of the place is really bad. Everything bounces off the walls and echos. If you're trying to have a conversation, I would go somewhere else. read more
I came here one evening and ordered the strawberry cheese bingos to share. The bingsoo is plenty for two people. The bingsoo had fresh strawberries and pieces of cheesecake. Also had some condensed milk you can pour on top to make it a little sweeter. This is a cute shop to go to with friends, family or for a date. read more
Always full of interesting people of different race and age! Just love this place. We were 6 having dessert after our dinner nearby . We chose 2 kinds, the mango and the specialty Korean that I always forget the name. Anyway... it was more than enough. Perfect t to end our night ! read more
This place is amazing! It had been so hot lately that my friend and I were more focused on dessert than dinner. After looking around, we decided bingsu was the way to go and headed here. It's located in a pretty busy shopping center, so parking took a bit to find. Lots of food/dessert places all around. Perfect for friends, family and dates. We ended up ordering the watermelon bingsu and choux cream toast. Finding a seat also took a bit as everyone seemed to think bingsu was the perfect dessert tonight. We were able to secure a spot near the window and chatted while waiting for our order. While they did have a good amount of seating, there were many people who were still ordering and waiting, so lots of chatter all around. The noise level made having conversations possible, but slightly on the harder side. I was very happy when our order came up - and the wait did not disappoint. The watermelon bingsu had the right amount of fruity sweetness - not overly articifical sweet - and melt in your mouth creaminess. The choux cream toast was crispy on the edges, fluffy in the middle and had a good amount of the choux cream. While both were good - we preferred the bingsu as it was light and refreshing. The toast needed a little more oompf to make it stand out - whether a slightly thicker bread, slightly creamier/sweeter choux cream or something else - as it was missing something. Overall, a yummy experience and I plan on coming back many times - especially during the warmer months. read more
I tried the fresh mango bingsoo, it came with a small side of condensed milk. I thought because mango is in season now, this would be a good choice but I actually but found the mango to be fibrous and tangy, it was not pleasant. The snow itself was very soft and light but I would say it only tastes good as long as you add the condensed milk (but we ran out very quickly). It's easily shareable between 3 people, I thought it was too much for 2. I dined in but I saw the way they pack their to go order in a mini cooler bag and it's so awesome! If I were to come back I would try something different. It would be a great option for a hot day. They also have several toast and drink options (coffee). In terms of the place itself, it's quite warm and noisy. There is plenty of seating read more
There is always a line when I come here and the wait for the bing su is pretty long, but the bing su itself is solid. The bowl is filled with mangos and the shaved ice is milky and soft. The seating is pretty cramped and stuffy but it's fine for a quick dessert run. read more

Unfortunately, all the bingsoo is not vegan.
Are there any vegan options?
I think the only vegan options are the teas & coffee.
Why is it closed?
They are opened again! Was temporary closed for internal reasons(?)
When is it opening? I asked once and they said mid-April, but it's May already..
