THE PLACE WAS ABSOLUTELY SLAMMED WITH CUSTOMERS. I watched her work through what would make most people quit on the spot. She did it with grace, poise, a smile, and worked through the frustration and stress of being alone. She apologized profusely to customers for a the wait, which wasn't long at all, which wasn't even her fault. To the lady working: I wanted to get your name to shout you out, but you were so busy I didn't want to bother you. I used to own a small business and we would only be so lucky to have a co-worker like you. My hat's off to you. Keep crushing it. To management: The lady working today deserves a raise. She deserves employee of the month for today. This was a situation that would break down some of the strongest people yet it was handled like a champ. Haven't been back in a while, and unfortunately, tonight's visit for bingsoo left us slightly disappointed. We ordered the mugwort bingsoo, hoping for that fresh, distinctively earthy and grassy flavor. However, the mugwort powder itself seemed to contain added sugar, and the red bean topping was also on the sweeter side--so much so that I actually had to scoop it out. Additionally, the shaved ice itself tasted quite light and lacked the rich, milky flavor we remember from back in the day. One of my go-to dessert spots! Sul & Beans is located within a sprawl of restaurants, dessert shops, drink spots, and the like. It can get really busy here, but I can usually find a parking spot within 5 minutes or so. There is as much seating as possible crammed into the somewhat small dessert shop as well as outdoor seating--it can get really busy here, so be warned. The menu covers mostly Korean-style shaved ice desserts, dessert toasts, and some drinks, including a couple different matcha drinks. Their flavors range from popular fruit ones (like mango or grape) to more traditionally Asian flavors (red bean, injeolmi). Once you order, they give you a little pager buzzer for the wait. I find that the drinks and toast come out quickly, but the shaved ice can take a little bit longer. I have really enjoyed everything I have tried here--the shaved ice comes with a tray and a little dish of condensed milk (and you can ask for more if you prefer it). I recommend sharing it with one other person, as it can be difficult to finish it solo before it begins melting. In addition to the pretty toppings, they also layer the toppings into the middle of the shaved ice. I 100% recommend visiting if you don't mind it being slightly crowded. The prices are generally reasonable, and the quality of the desserts is high. There are occasionally seasonal or new flavors, so it's always going to be a fun experience. The sweet corn, fluffy shaved ice, and creamy toppings are such a good combination. The only downside is the service. On our last visit, we waited about 40 minutes after ordering. We got the strawberry cheese shaved ice. The presentation is always beautiful with a generous amount of fruit and syrup. While there's better shaved ice textures out there (this one is slightly icier if that makes sense), I do still think this one is soft and fluffy enough. 3.5 stars rounding up to 4. This is my favorite Korean bingsoo/snow ice in town. It seems that they are changing how they assemble their bingsoo over the years, though? I have previously tried the mango and black sesame bingsoo. I quite enjoyed the mango bingsoo previously, and I made sure to only have it when mango is in season as I prefer sweet mango over tart mango. There were tons of mango on the top and even more mangos at the core of the bingsoo. Black sesame had a solid black sesame flavor, with mochi and red beans on top. Towards the middle of the black sesame bingsoo, there was another layer of condensed milk and more intense black sesame layer. Both of these came with condensed milk on the side. I recently tried the taro bingsoo, which was disappointing. It was just ice with taro powder, toasted coconut flakes, 4 pieces of mochi, and very sweet red beans on top. Compared to other bingsoo I've tried in the past, I would have expected there to be more things inside. And upon reading reviews from 2025 and prior, there used to be taro inside. Green grape: tasted creamy with fresh grapes all throughout with some aloe chunks inside Black sesame: mochi on top with a solid sesame flavor Strawberry: my personal favorite because there was fresh strawberry and a bit of the strawberry jam or puree inside that doubled the strawberry flavor. We didn't even end up using the extra condensed or evaporated milk. I would definitely come back to try the mango. I was super sad that it was out of stock. Sul & Beans is a Korean bingsu place in Main Street Cupertino. Honestly they have a lot to work on. I'm writing a 3 star review but I'm really rounding up here. The place is decent and clean but the wait time for a massive bowl of ice is crazy. We first ordered the mango bingsu but changed it when we saw everybody else dumping the fruit on the table. They did give us a sample and it was hard and sour. We switched to the taro bingsu which was a questionable improvement. It was a big dump of ice (as expected) but the only taro was the fake taro powder. The red beans were absolutely loaded with sugar and the three tiny blocks of mochi were weird (not sure how else to describe this). Service was friendly enough but sloooow. 20+ minutes to get dessert. Snowtime in Campbell is much better. read more

Parking can be tricky as the lot isn't big enough for how many popular restaurants there are in the area. Clearly this place has a horrible system for managing orders. Everybody in the store waited for like 45 minutes and then the employees filled all of orders simultaneously, and got mad when customers walk up to the counter when our buzzers went off. Here was my bizarre experience with one of the workers: The worker - Jimena - was rude and clearly very stressed out. So I can see our order is ready (it looks visually different than all the other orders that were prepped, like the other trays were all one matcha bowl, my tray was 2 mango bowls) and I come up to the counter, put the buzzer down cuz it's going off flashing red. She takes the buzzer and stacks it with the others, then asks me what the number was. When I don't know, she gets angry with me... Like that's literally her job?? Anyway she proceeds to chew out all the customers standing there trying to get their melting ice bowls, telling us this is why they have a buzzer system (she took my buzzer?!). But I really feel like you shouldn't fill all the orders at once and then get mad at the customers for your own bad system. Also I could see my two mango bowls right in front of me bc we were the store was empty when we came in so we were the first order filled, and again all the other orders were different. Eventually I'm like ok this worker is just angry and stressed and taking it out on the customers so let's get my food and go join my friends. But here's the cherry on top - once we finally got our two shaved ice bowls, she only put down one container of condensed milk. BUT when I requested another she was so weird about it, and said that she can refill it only once it's empty. Honestly just rubbed me really the wrong way and felt like a power trip. Oh and the bowls weren't sweet and the mango was not sweet. So that was great too. Don't recommend. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

Not sure why but the strawberries were really sour and even though the employees were kind enough to give us another cup of the diluted condensed milk- the bing soo wasn't quite sweet enough. The cheesecake was also kind of flavorless. Overall it was pretty busy/loud in here. Service was fine but it seems like the two people on staff were also working the somi somi next door so there was a bit of a wait for everything- dessert then the extra milk then the to go container. My go-to Korean bingsu place! The shop is nice and bright, located right next to Somi Somi in the Main Street Cupertino plaza. Parking can definitely be tough, especially on weekdays, but there's a lot and garage nearby. It can get super crowded and have long wait times, but I always find that it's worth it. I've been coming here for years and the Oreo bingsu is my go-to flavor. Not only is the bingsu delicious, it's one of the cheaper bingsus in the area. While they did have a good amount of seating, there were many people who were still ordering and waiting, so lots of chatter all around. The noise level made having conversations possible, but slightly on the harder side. I was very happy when our order came up - and the wait did not disappoint. The watermelon bingsu had the right amount of fruity sweetness - not overly articifical sweet - and melt in your mouth creaminess. The choux cream toast was crispy on the edges, fluffy in the middle and had a good amount of the choux cream. While both were good - we preferred the bingsu as it was light and refreshing. The toast needed a little more oompf to make it stand out - whether a slightly thicker bread, slightly creamier/sweeter choux cream or something else - as it was missing something. I thought because mango is in season now, this would be a good choice but I actually but found the mango to be fibrous and tangy, it was not pleasant. The snow itself was very soft and light but I would say it only tastes good as long as you add the condensed milk (but we ran out very quickly). It's easily shareable between 3 people, I thought it was too much for 2. I dined in but I saw the way they pack their to go order in a mini cooler bag and it's so awesome! Omg, my friend was craving bingsoo and we had to try it here. I've never tried it before, and we shared the chocolate banana. Oh my goodness, it was heavenly! The chocolate and banana complemented each other with some condensed milk poured on top. No words! And the whipped cream has perfect creaminess. The strawberry matcha was okay.
