The workers jumped to the rescue and they didn't hesitate to help. They were nice enough to change my tire since I didn't know how and made sure I was okay. On top of that, we still ordered bingsoo and it was delicious. They even brought it out to us while my tire was being changed. Very novel bingsu place in the heart of Vietnam Town. While not big in volume the aesthetics, food and service (the brown hair guy and the girl w mole were very nice and welcoming) all make up for it. Quite busy on a Thursday evening. Indoor and outdoor seating available. You need to wait to be seated and put your name on the physical waitlist. We shared the salted egg yolk bingsu and the mango sticky rice crepe. The salted egg yolk bingsu was supposed to come with chewy rice balls which they were out of. They didn't mention they were out of them when we ordered and it wasn't until we noticed it was missing and brought it up that they said they're out of it. They gave us a small saucer of strawberries to make up for it. This aside, the salted egg yolk bingsu was so delicious! I would definitely get this again. The bingsu was so creamy with fluffy texture, salted egg yolk sauce was unique and flavorful, and almond crumble added sweetness and crunchy texture. The mango sticky rice crepe wasn't bad but I definitely preferred the bingsu. For me, it was nothing to write home about. Quite heavy too and felt like a meal. Got the chance to try this place while visiting grand century mall with friends! It's a small space that has outdoor and indoor seating. We arrived around 5:30 pm on a Saturday and we were sat immediately since we decided to sit outside. It's a plush cafe with cute playful seating, tables, and cutlery. They have standing heaters when it gets cold at night. Everyone around us was enjoying the desserts so that was a good sign. Service was easy, quick, and efficient. We ordered the Golden Toasted! I've been wanting to try NaYa dessert cafe in SF, so I was excited when I saw that a location opened up nearby. The inside is pretty small, which I didn't mind, but the cleanliness could've been better. Our table was really sticky, along with the menus. You get a small amount of rice and a mountain of the shaved ice and a small side of mango sauce and then a cut up mango. Omg I've been wanting to go to the SF location for the longest time, but now I don't need to because they opened a location in SJ!! SJ needed this especially because they close at like 12 or 1am, and I feel like SJ doesn't have any dessert shops open that late at night. We had to try the mango tango bingsu because I feel like that's what they're known for. It came with half of a really ripe and sweet mango, sticky rice, and mango puree to top the snow. I really liked how soft the snow was, but thought it was a tad bit too creamy/sweet. The mango puree was delicious, but I didn't really like how coconut-y the sticky rice was. I'm not a fan of coconut & sticky rice though, so take that with what you will. We got an order of green tea ice cream too. I liked how it came with corn flakes and the green tea was pretty strong. When we went, it was happy hour on the drinks or something so we got a bunch of drinks 20% off. The favorite being the black sugar latte, really hits the sweetness if you like your coffee on the sweeter side. The inside is small, but there's outdoor seating that was great with the warm weather. I love Naya, so I was so exciting when they finally opened in San Jose in the Vietnam Town plaza!! We got the Black Thai Tea Crepe and it was so good, just like in SF. The sweetness level Is just right and eating the crepe with the Thai tea cream is chef kiss. We also tried their Mango Bingsu and it was so refreshing and yummy. The shaved ice + mango + sticky rice is such a perfect combo, I would definitely get it again. The reason why I knocked off one star is because the inside is so small. I don't know if I'm seeing things, but I felt their SF location is bigger than here for some reason. It felt very cramped with only a few seats inside. I heard they had more outdoor seating which is great, but I personally think they should have made the inside bigger in the first place. First time trying Naya, and we ordered the Mango Tango and a Thai tea. We absolutely loved the Mango Tango! The sticky rice had the perfect amount of sweetness, and the mango was fresh, juicy, and sweet. The Thai tea was also good, although it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. When we arrived, the restaurant was packed and there was a wait, but luckily tables cleared quickly and we were seated within 5 minutes. We were searching for some dessert nearby and the mango tango bingsu caught our eye! This new Naya Dessert Cafe is in soft opening and in the busiest shopping center ever. We searched for parking for a while! It's a pretty small shop too but they do have some outdoor seating. It looked crazy busy but they have a waitlist to put your name down hanging at the door so that was nice to be able to see how many were actually ahead of us. Even for a Saturday evening, we didn't have to wait very long at all- maybe 10 mins max! Their staff were very efficient and they were turning tables over very quickly, ready to take orders, bring waters, clean up dishes, and then bring checks right away. They're definitely doing it right! The mango tango bingsu was so delicious. The consistency of their milk snow was so good! And overall the dish wasn't too sweet at all. The sticky rice was just the right amount and the mangoes were so ripe and sweet. We also had the Ferrero Crepe. You get to pick two types of ice cream with it. It's a huge plate so definitely want to share that one, whereas I could probably enjoy the whole bingsu myself if I really wanted to. My only complaint is the pricing. It's a little bit off - both of our dishes were $17.99 each. This is fair for the bingsu in my opinion because of the work it takes for the snow and the various ingredients and plating. However the crepe is just the crepe pancake itself with some ice cream, fruits, and chocolate, so I thought it should have been priced lower. read more

So happy we have a NaYa Dessert Cafe in Vietnam town! Their desserts are so good and unique!   My friend and I got their salted egg custard toasted and it was SOOOO GOOD! Perfect salted egg sweet flavor and lots of salted egg custard in the toast. It comes with lots of pieces of smaller toast in a bigger toast encasing. I love that they have 2 scoops of ice cream that pairs so well with the custard. A very cute and yummy new addition to SJ's dessert scene with an array of Asian flavors and late night hours! Came during their soft opening on a weekday evening around 9pm and it was packed! They had a waitlist to sign up on upon arrival and we were seated outside rather quickly. Great date spot, but the small interior and limited seating could make for long wait times for bigger groups. The Thai Tea Toast was delicious with a pretty presentation! The toast was perfectly sweet, buttery, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The Thai tea ice cream and sauce weren't too sweet either, which balanced out the toast. Oreo crumbs added a nice texture. It was super filling for 2. We ended up waiting a while for our check and just went inside to pay. They seemed a bit understaffed considering how popular and busy they are, but our waiter was incredibly helpful and friendly nonetheless. The yuzu fresh soda was perfection- quenching, refreshing, & had just the right amount of sweetness. The Thai tea latte was good but the tea element is quite strong. Coming from an avid tea lover, this was great but I can see some people needing more of the milk base. The lychee ice tea was good but I found it to be overly sweet. The melon snow was my favorite dessert- just the right amount of sweetness and the melon sauce was fresh and didn't taste artificial. My daughter is officially nicknamed Kirby thanks to the vacuum manner of her eating this! Mango tango and mango crepe are pretty similar dishes aside from one having shaved ice and the other having the ingredients all wrapped into the crepe. Both very much enjoyed but if I had to pick a winner, I'm going with the mango tango. So why the 3 stars? 1) The visit was rushed. Staff was quick to go and clear the table and we had to let them know we weren't finished. 2) The one lady, whom I think was Vietnamese, absolutely rubbed me the wrong way with her tone and wording. We had a pretty large group, but they were accommodating and gave us a table right away, then added another table once some people left. We did wait around 30 minutes overall, which honestly was not too bad considering how busy and hyped the place was. Our server Henry was really sweet and checked in on us throughout the night. He was friendly, conversational, and made the experience feel welcoming. He also let us know there was a 30% off drinks promotion for the soft opening. One of my friends also had a receipt from a previous visit that gave us 20% off food. Henry explained that he could apply the 20% discount to the food and the 30% promotion to the drinks, which sounded great to us. After getting the bill, we noticed the drinks were not discounted at all. The manager later explained that only one promotion could be applied to the check, which unfortunately was never clarified beforehand. If we had known that from the start, a lot of us probably would not have ordered drinks. My boyfriend asked if there was any way to fix it, and they eventually accommodated us by splitting the food and drinks onto separate checks so both discounts could be applied. We appreciated that they worked with us, but it definitely became more of a hassle than expected. The manager also offered us free drinks instead since the refund difference would have only been around $5, but none of us really wanted more drinks at that point, so we just went with the split checks. As for the food itself, I got the mango bingsoo and really enjoyed it. The shaved ice was super creamy, refreshing, and the mango was sweet and fresh. Overall, the food was enjoyable and the atmosphere was lively. Since it was still a soft opening, I can understand there being some operational kinks to work through. I want to cut them a little slack, as it is their soft opening, but they seem really disorganized and unprepared for their customers. Their paper wait-list was out of paper, so we had trouble figuring out how to sign up. After, we waited around 30 minutes to be seated. The service was only okay, and the servers seemed very rushed and scattered. After we were seated, it took another 30 minutes for our food to come out, which seemed very unusual for a dessert cafe. I am guessing they forgot to put our order in, because 20 minutes into our wait, a hostess double checked the order slip on our table and called in our order to the kitchen again. Our food was very cute to look at! Everything here is plated in a very aesthetically pleasing way, and the cafe itself is very cute. However, I think this does come at the cost of quality and practicality in the dishes. The mango tango bingsu comes with half a mango that has been crosshatched in the skin, and it is up to the customer to cut the pieces off the skin with a small metal spoon. There is also not a lot of mango syrup for the bingsu. The sticky rice was a really fun and delicious addition though. Overall, the food was good, and I liked the presentation and variety of ingredients, but it felt a little impractical to eat, and there is nothing extremely unique about the taste of the food. I do feel like ~$18 per dish is a little high for the size of the dishes as well. I will come back at a later date to try again, hopefully after the opening crowds have died down a little bit, and see how I feel about the service in the future. I love the bingsu here because it has a milky flavor, unlike other places that don't flavor the ice. It's also incredibly soft and flaky. The store is SUPER small with only 6 tables. They do have a few tables outside. Overall, I'll definitely be back to try the strawberry bingsu probably once the hype dies down or during off-peak hours. read more

This is located in Vietnam town and in a really small studio like shop. Came around 6PM on a sunday and it was fairly busy. We were immediately seated and was given their soft opening menu! We got the Mango Tango and Salted Egg Custard which were both really flavorful! They did take a little while to come as there were some people were waiting before us too. The service was good as well, the workers were super accommodating and attentive. I can't wait to come back to try to their other things when they have their grand opening! I also did hear from another customer asking if they would provide the same extensive menu like how they have in SF but unfortunately the worker said they will not. read more

ordered the thai tea charcoal crepe and it was super tasty. it is mostly filled with ice cream and whipped cream and the sauce is good, i really like the little oreo crispies, a great touch so would love more inside. would definitely try the salted egg toast next time! read more
