    Chocolate and plain roti buns
    Andrew M.

This place is just straight nostalgic. I went inside a couple of days ago and everything looks the same as when I used to go when I was younger. Staff is still young who are very friendly. It's not as lively inside anymore but the food, especially the roti buns, tastes the exact same which is honestly nothing to complain about. There's a ton of restaurants and dessert spots in this part of Santa Clara so it's easy to overlook honeyberry. But if you're looking for a blast from the past definitely drop in!

I used to come here all the time with a friend when we wanted something sweet - the churro buns, roti buns and shaved ice were all a huge hit with me. After 2020, I stopped coming by as often and then I moved away from the area. While recently having dinner nearby, I remembered that this was close so we stopped by for some shaved ice. When we walked in, the smell was amazing! I instantly wanted whatever it was that smelled so good - after looking through the menu, I realized they didn't have the churro buns anymore. I guess they still had the roti buns (that lovely sweet smell!!), but we came for shaved ice and I stuck to that. We ordered the mango shaved ice and it was delicious - just what we needed after our dinner. It was light, fluffy and just sweet enough for a dessert. The shop was relatively empty when we walked in and a few other groups came and went as we stayed and enjoyed our treat. There is open, ample seating around the shop - enough for groups to spread out and sit comfortably. After enjoying our shaved ice, we sat around and chatted for a while before leaving. I could definitely see people coming over and getting some work done here since it was such a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. It's also a nice place for friends, families and dates.

Came here for the roti bun, they even served it warm for us. Bring back some sweet memories of "roti boy" in Singapore and Malaysia. The price is okay too, $3 for a plain bun. The drinks are lower price than other mainly because it's powder artificial flavors. We opted for Thai tea and it was okay

It's been a decade since we have been here. Friend wanted a cool treat and we saw that this place served shaved ice. Plenty of parking in the lot. We ordered two large mango shaved ice $15 each. Grabbed some tables and waited about 10 minutes. The shaved ice was piled up high. Mango was fresh, mango ice cream was good. The lychee jelly and condensed milk were served on the side. Nice and refreshing on a hot day.

I've forgotten how good roti buns were, until I saw this location after getting lunch nearby. Their roti buns are so good! My favorite was the chocolate butter. It offered a bit more flavor and savoriness compared to their regular roti bun. Perfect treat after a heavy lunch.

Stopped by after lunch for their roti bun! I got the original roti bun for $3. It smelled very nice and it was served warm. I thought the flavor was yummy with the sweet crusts and it was soft and not too sweet.

Came on a Weekday, this place was quiet, peaceful and the boba we tried was good. Will come back for sure. We tried the Taro Milk Tea with no Ice, definitely recommend this drink, but would have been nice if the boba has not overcooked. Felt the boba was too soft, may be that's how they sell I guess. Has plenty options for parking as it on a weekend.

Cute and cozy store stuck in a small strip mall for all your sweet tooth cravings and needs :) This store is like the girl next door, comfortable, familiar and convenient. First impression is that this store is neat and tidy. They have varieties of cute and unique desserts, such as golden toast, waffle, yogurt shaved ice, etc. Their roti buns are usually fresh off the oven hourly and fill the store with their amazing fragrance. There is a cucumber water station where you can pour yourself a refreshing cup of cucumber water. After much debate, we went for the gelato burger with roti bun and caramel macchiato gelato. That's the best decision ever! The roti bun had Nutella spread on the inside. Combining with the inviting flavorful caramel macchiato gelato and the freshly baked roti bun, you'll immediately feel like in heaven with every bite. The server was kind and patient. Our order came out relatively quick. This is such a great hangout spot to catch up with friends over yummy dessert and drinks. Highly recommend!

Ordered a Jasmine Matcha. It was way too bitter, had no ice, and there was no matcha in it. I asked her to remake it and Liza said she can't remake, refund, or switch it unless there was something wrong with it. I explained the drink was not made correctly and tasted disgusting. After arguing back and forth for a while she just added more pumps of syrup and gave me the same drink back. I asked to speak to the manager and after more arguing she said she could call them on the phone if I wanted to speak to them. It was a $4 drink I have no idea why she was fighting and arguing with me so hard. I ended up leaving it on the counter with her and told her to keep it, and I calmly walked away. She argued with me for so long back and forth, told me I didn't know what matcha tasted like, told me I shouldn't of ordered it if i didn't like it, the matcha at Starbucks are different than theirs and dont taste the same if that's where im getting my reference from. The drink itself looked unappealing to begin with. Awful service, Awful drinks!

One of our go-to places after eating Korean food on El Camino. I first discovered Honeyberry after celebrating my moms birthday at Han Sung and I absolutely loved it. I'm a sucker for shaved ice and have been addicted this last year or so. I like this place because they have delicious shaved ice plus they offer other goodies like a full dessert bar, gelato and delicious drinks. This recent visit my wife and I brought our kids. We ordered the Oreo shaved ice for our kids, mango shaved ice for us, and a americano. The mango shaved ice came with a healthy amount of mango placed over a bowl of soft and snowy ice. It was topped off with a small scoop of mango gelato. The sweetness from the mango carried over to the ice and with a drizzle of condensed milk made for some satisfying bites. The mangos varied in texture. Some were soft, others were hard but overall the bowl had all the right flavors and texture. The Oreo shaved ice was a hit for our girls. They loved the jelly toppings you can pour on top and the combination of Oreo and m&ms. I wished they included a few full pieces of Oreo cookies like their competitors offer but overall the girls enjoyed it and the small size was the perfect amount for them. The americano was a big highlight for me. I drink my coffee black so I usually can tell right away if the coffee is a hit or miss but this one passed with flying colors. They have a nice espresso machine back there and as a result, this drink was quite enjoyable. The sweetness from the shaved ice carried over to each sip which made it a better experience. Last few times I've visited here, always have been able to find ample seating. Great place to visit with a friend or your family. Look forward to trying some of their specialty desserts! Definitely come check this place out!

My family and I come here for dessert, and they have so many amazing options. We wanted something light, so we got Plain Roti buns (the cream cheese one is my favorite, but they were sold out). I also got a mocha latte, and it was pretty good! I usually get the triple waffle, but everything is pretty yummy here. There's always enough seating, although the tables remain dirty sometimes. The employees were very sweet. I'll be back again!

I only come here for 1 thing and 1 thing only and that's the Coffe roti bun. Usually I'd just the bun itself and it's a 10/10 but now they have roti burger (just the buns with any flavor of ice cream and Nutella) which brings it up a notch! I highly recommend green tea ice cream to pair with.

4.23.2023 Daly City is always cold and overcast. Grayish city with nonstop winds and chills. That's why spending a day in SJ - all sunshine and warmth - with my mom and sister got me all thawed out that I was craving shaved ice! Back in the days, Honey Berry was the spot to chill. It was also a place my ex would purposely drive to from Hayward to get me a slice of tiramisu cake. Young love...old memories. Tiramisu is non-existent now. They serve 4 kinds of shaved ice, smoothies, Roti Buns and gelato. The smell of their buttery toasted Roti Buns brings back all these memories of hanging out in SJ. I kinda wish they had a perfume made of Roti Bun aromas. I can smell it all day, everyday! Interesting how certain smells and tastes can bring back so much flashbacks. It was nice to sit and enjoy spoonfuls of sweet-milky-mango & misoogaru-shaved ice while reminiscing my younger days. Genuinely glad to know that Honey Berry didn't succumb to the extreme hardships of Covid and that they're still in business. All the tables were occupied. This place is now one of SJ's classic for the Korean community - at least, in my opinion. HB, stay strong and continue to thrive amidst all the hardships so that we can meet again.

We got the red bean and the strawberry flavors - the portions were very large for a bay-area reasonable price of less than $15 item. It was my first visit and honestly, I was a bit disappointed; while there were lots of fresh fruits, I found the flavor bland and not sweet enough - which may be someone's jam? I wished it had more condensed milk to give it a more creamy flavor. The shaved ice was beautiful and fluffy - i'd say this is the main draw that may bring me back to try new flavors. There is plenty of seating inside for tables of two or even small groups. Parking can be difficult since many popular establishments are in the same strip mall so plan ahead for parking time.

I think we went on a day where they might've been short a few people, but we did wait over an hour for our order. From my observations there is a process for the tacos. They have to mold the ice cream in, then keep it in the freezer for a few minutes for it to hold its shape, and customize it after. If you're willing to wait that long for ice cream then I'd say this place is definitely worth it.

The place was situated in a quiet plaza just outside of Lawrence Expressway. There's ample parking but it doesn't feel like the location is suitable for a cafe where you can picture sitting inside looking through some big windows facing a busy pedestrian walkway. However, once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how zen and peaceful the decorations were and how fitting it was for a cozy and quiet cafe hangout. The cake shelf was surprisingly busy. And this is where I took one star out because the lines were confusing and the staff skipped me to talk to the group behind me while I was clearly the next to be helped. Luckily another staff member came out from the back kitchen and jumped in to help. The staff spoke fluent mandarin. I was interested in their box cakes. A few of the yelpers raved about their soy milk cake and luckily they had one out for sampling. It was covered with lots of cream and the cake layer was soft and moist, but it was still slightly too sweet for me and I felt that it lacked the tofu kind of soy flavor. Then, I spotted on their menu that they have a black sesame matcha box cake, and black sesame is always my favorite, so I asked for it. They had the last one left! The staff said she had never tried it so she couldn't tell me if it is less sweet than the soy milk cake. Since it was the last one available and I already sampled the soy cake, I decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. The cake was filled with matcha mousse and tasted light and aromatic with the jasmine kind of matcha flavor. It is definitely less sweet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much black sesame as I'd like. But overall, the cake flavor is the kind that I like, subtle, moist, and not too sweet. $38 for a box cake of 4x4 is a bit pricey, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The cakes were freshly made and tasted best the same day of purchase. They also recommend refrigerating the cake and consuming it within a day or two.

Ok to preface; I am easy to please and LOVE donuts. I would always go to Mitsuwa when Modo Hawaii…read morehad a "pop" up and my go-to was ALWAYS the cookies and cream donut. I am so glad they have their own shop now!!! Did you know the shop also has poke???! Yum!! I was able to meet my protein goal for the day by getting half pound of spicy tuna and ONE cookies and cream donut (hey, it was cheat day). They make their donuts FRESH AND HOT; so it will be 1000% delish.

During one of our donut runs, we noticed they also serve poke bowls at a really great price, especially if you have a student ID. Unfortunately, the first time we came to try the poke, they had already sold out. Lesson learned! On our second attempt, we arrived earlier and were able to order two poke bowls. The only issue was that the rice was still very hot, and by the time we got home, it had partially cooked the poke. Our third visit was perfect because we learned from our first two experiences. We came early again and asked if the poke could be packed separately since the rice was still warm. The employee was incredibly kind and even had me hover my hand over the rice to check the temperature. It was definitely still hot, so he happily packed the poke separately for us. I'm so glad he did because everything tasted great once we got home. The poke was fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly saucy, which we loved. Comes with seaweed salad. While they don't offer many toppings and add-ons as a traditional poke shop, the quality and price make it an excellent value. It's actually perfect for my daughter since she prefers her poke without a lot of extras. We'll definitely keep coming back--not just for the mochi donuts, but for the poke bowls too!

We stopped by Melo Melo for dessert and really enjoyed the experience. We tried the ube and black…read moresesame flavors, and both were delicious. The ube had a smooth, creamy texture with just the right amount of sweetness, but the black sesame was the standout for me. It had a rich, nutty flavor that wasn't overly sweet and quickly became my favorite. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and our order was prepared quickly. Even though it was our first visit, they made the experience easy and enjoyable. The shop has a clean, modern aesthetic with a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for a quick dessert stop.

I ended up buying four different flavors, and we ate one there in the shop. Later that night, both my husband and I developed pretty bad stomach aches. At first, I thought it might have been dinner, but the next day I ate another jar and experienced the same stomach pain, and my husband did as well after eating his. We also noticed that the jelly seemed much more watery than we expected. The store itself was very warm during our visit, the bathroom was out of service, and the cashier wasn't particularly friendly. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we don't think we'll be returning.
