Pistachio & blood orange ice cream
    Prasiddha H.

Had the chance to try matcha town which was a great experience! I had heard many things about this spot before so I wanted to check it out and try it myself. This is a causal spot with not much seating, but great for ice cream and drinks! The service here is fast and the parking is there but the plaza is quite crowded. For our order we tried: * matcha guava drink - this was yummy with strong matcha flavor but when you stir the drink enough you will definitely get a nice guava flavor. * ice cream - we got the pistachio flavor and the new blood orange flavor of ice cream and this was soo yummy! We loved the combo and would absolutely come back to try this again! Cakes here are expensive but want to try this next time as well!

Yuzu and shiso, white champaca (small,$7.50)

We all know what matcha is, but what the heck is champaca? We were intrigued after watching ChonkyABG on YouTube rave about this flavor of gelato. According to Google AI, "Magnolia champaca is a large, evergreen tree known for its intensely fragrant flowers". Cooooool. They have five different levels of ceremonial matcha and unique flavors like yuzu and shiso, creamy rice, and white champaca. Stoked they offer samples! They were all so creamy and yummy, but I finally settled on the yuzu and shiso and white champaca. Two flavors come in a "single". The champaca gelato had little crunchy bits of cookie, which were quite delicious too. I love anything yuzu and shiso and this gelato did not disappoint: seemed more like a sorbet than a gelato though. We also got an iced white champaca. The white champaca was refreshing with a slight floral note. The drink definitely creeps up on you with its floral-ness as you continue to sip. Line out the door here always, but it moves pretty fast.

Had the Pistachio and the Hojicha gelato. Also tried the Pink Guava Matcha. I liked the Pistachio gelato more than the Hojicha. They topped the gelato with crushed pistachios. The Hojicha had a little bit more bitterness than I'd expected. Overall, the gelato was smooth. The Pink Guava Matcha drink was the best from what I've ordered. It's sweet guava flavored mild topped with matcha cheese foam. Full on guava flavor which tastes like pear and strawberry mixed together. I samples the chocolate and the rice flavor. Chocolate gelato was pretty good with rich sweet cocoa flavor. The Creamy Rice gelato tasted like rice pudding without the cinnamon.

Very small place with a higher end type feel to the atmosphere. Definitely feel crowded after only maybe one or two dozen people enter the shop. Line for gelato was long but moves quickly, however by end of the night many things sold out so be wary. Only tried their matcha so, can't comment much on gelato maybe another day. 4.1/5 - Jasmine Matcha - Flowery sweet note really pairs well with the slight bitterness of the matcha. Also quite fragrant and able to pick up some jasmine/flowery smell from the drink. No clumps and matcha was smooth after mixing with the jasmine. Looks very aesthetic with matcha sitting on top of jasmine giving it a two tone look.

Lost count of how many times I came to buy their gelato cakes. This time we tried the Berry White Champaca and it was light and tasty! For people who have a more Western palate, this is a good choice. For people who don't like things too sweet, their Matcha Black Sesame is still my recommendation. I wrote a review before complaining about the location where the order kiosks were placed and they listened! This time the kiosks were placed in a better place. Bravo! I encountered a different problem this time, out of their control, the ordering SW seemed to have problems processing the orders and it took a long time for the issue to be reported. While the customers were fuzzing at the kiosk, there was only one staff working at the gelato counter, making it hard to get the staff attention and reporting the issue. Once it was reported, a lady came out and worked diligently on it and at some point even had to take orders by hand and paper, but they couldn't take your phone number to honor the points, which I think should be able to do at the backend when the SW was fixed. Luckily it didn't take too long for the issue to be resolved. I still don't like how the points can only redeem the toys but not gelato. They have a new product, the creamy rice gelato, I gave it a taste, thumbs up good!

    Salted Cheese Matcha Float
    Lisa N.

Omg it's so good!! I was really surprised!! Lived up to the hype. I got the salted cheese matcha float (level 2 matcha). It's high quality you can taste. I am definitely coming back. I like how they give out gelato samples so we can try beforehand. The aesthetics is nice and the line was efficient. We order on the kiosk first and then make our way down to the end of the counter. I wanna try all the gelato flavors. Perhaps too much ice tho. Might need to adjust it next time.

This place reminds me a lot like molly tea and I love it! I got the guava matcha and it tastes so fresh (not artificially sweet) either. You can tell the ingrieidnts are much better and high quality. I want to come back and try the white champaca. Very busy but service is quick!

Matcha Town is such a cute stop for matcha lovers. The shop has a clean, modern look with bright green branding, and the dessert case adds a fun, upscale touch the moment you walk in. We tried the Pink Guava Matcha and Jasmine Matcha, and both were beautifully layered and super photogenic. The Pink Guava Matcha was fruity, refreshing, and slightly creamy, with the guava adding a sweet tropical note that paired surprisingly well with the earthy matcha. The Jasmine Matcha felt lighter and more floral, with a smoother, more delicate flavor profile. Both drinks looked gorgeous and tasted balanced without being overly sweet. I also loved seeing the colorful cakes and desserts on display. Everything looked polished and thoughtfully presented, which made the whole visit feel a little more special than a typical tea run. Great place for a casual dessert stop, a cute catch-up spot, or anyone who enjoys trying creative matcha drinks in a stylish setting.

    Matcha Pistachio Gelato Cake 4In

Tried Matcha Town when they first opened and just tried it again yesterday -- they definitely made improvements with their drinks! A much bolder matcha flavor in their drinks, just what we want, right?! Their gelato has always been decadent. Of course their different levels of matcha are great, but a surprise stand-out is their YUZU SHISO flavor -- make sure to try it! Finally got to try their gelato cakes over the weekend. 4" cakes are around $30 while 6" cakes are $60. |Matcha pistachio gelato cake| -- definitely potent matcha and pistachio flavors that matched well together. SUPER NICE packaging when ordering a cake. There's multiple small ice packs in their cute puffy insulated bag they place the cake in. Instructions say to keep the cake in a freezer and to let it sit in fridge 30 mins. I like when icecream/gelato cakes are a bit more solid, so I just kept the cake out of the freezer for a couple of minutes and had no problem cutting or eating the cake. |Salted Cheese Jasmine Matcha|-- Loved the harmony between the dank matcha + strong jasmine flavor + slight salt of the cheese! YUM. Can't wait to try other different drinks and gelato flavors ! This plaza is typically always busy and parking can be challenging at times. Two self order kiosks available inside with limited seating against the wall.

On a weekday afternoon, there were plenty of customers coming in and out of of the matcha/ice cream shop. I ordered their Salted Cheese Jasmine Matcha drink on their self-service kiosk, and it came out within several minutes. There was a good balance of salty cheese to good quality matcha, and the drink was not too sweet! They have the smaller three-hole straws available so that you can fully enjoy the drink. Would love to try their ice cream in the future!

I ordered the regular cup size of gelato at the kiosk and walked over to the gelato corner. Ethan was my gelato person and super nice and patient! I originally decided on flavors at the kiosk, but changed my mind after a few samples. I ended up choosing No. 5 matcha & black sesame. The matcha was pretty strong, but not bitter. I was scooping more of the black sesame- it was so good and nutty. Most of the gelato had a very creamy and smooth texture. I'd def come back for a sweet treat again!

matcha 4 + yuzu shio gelato
    Minh-Chau D.

Not as busy anymore but still one of my favorite dessert places in the area. Love the yuzu shio sherbet. Get their cakes!! So far I've only tried the berry champaca but it's so good. The champaca tea taste + tart berry + chocolate crunch bottom; 10/10.

I'm not a big matcha fan, but this place has some high quality drinks! I personally loved the matcha jasmine but my friends like their other matcha drinks too. The interior of this place is very cute, but small. You order through a kiosk though so it's a very quick process. The parking was easy plaza parking!

1484 Halford Ave Santa Clara, CA 95051…read more This was my first visit to Baker's Village in Santa Clara. It was a warm day, and I was drawn to this bakery by their fruit smoothies. It was near 5pm. I walked in and the place was empty. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me. I asked for a strawberry smoothie, then walked around to survey all the baked goods. It's a small bakery with lots of trays of individually packaged cakes and pastries. The smell was very pleasant and comforting. Using a flat basket (or tray) I grabbed a few selections. I picked 2 "Heart Pies" that resembled my favorite French Butterfly Cookies. Also 2 pound cakes. The total rang up to just over $21. There's some small tables for enjoying your purchases there, but I took my items to go. The icy cold fruit smoothie was very good and very cold! Not too sweet, it had a natural strawberry taste. The Heart Pies were good and fresh. But the Pound Cakes were probably "day old." I noticed there's no dates or "best by" tags on the packages. It's a nice place to visit, and I will return again. Free parking in plaza lot.

Wisely, I checked Yelp reviews first because some deals can be too good to be true. It's hidden gem off El Camino and near Lawrence Expressway where those that know good Korean baking have this spot on their short list of preferred places. I arrived a few minutes before my scheduled pick up time and Korean grandma behind the counter was super pro, teaching me how to confirm check in and gave me a mixed bag of baked goods with/without fillings. If you like surprises, are omnivore & no special diets or food allergies, Too Good To Go is the way to explore. The items were in generic packaging without labels, so take a pic of the items you like so can order when visit next time. While my family enjoyed all the items, I really enjoyed the black sesame studded puffy rolls that I think were made with rice flour. There was a large group of older Asian ladies, including one who brought their lap dog, enjoying good conversations in their native language with their baked goods and tea or coffee. Another gentleman was taking a video call to help decide the best cake to buy. Will add this bake shop for a place to have a coffee meeting and to favorite in Too Good To Go.

It sounds like a lot, but it actually works really well together. The White Champaca tea is on the mellow side, the Jasmine whipped cream adds additional floral aroma and extra creaminess, the sago gives texture without overpowering the drink, and the little bits of pecan add a nice surprise crunch. My husband's favorite is the Peach Oolong. I've had my fair share of peach milk teas over the years where they can be too sweet and the peach flavor tastes straight up like chemicals, but this has to be the best peach-flavored tea I've had so far! It has a fruity taste that doesn't overpower the flavor of the tea leaves. When I first visited last year, they had a "Fresh Oat Milk Tea Series", but I'm sad to say that it's not on this location's menu anymore. _______________________________________________________ ---A M B I A N C E -- I'm diggin' the woodsy, warm, Asian-y aesthetic they got going on! Tea and merch are displayed on the walls, and pink is definitely their signature color, so expect to see pops of it here and there in the decor, cups, and to-go bags. This location has a decent amount of chairs and tables, but let me tell you, this place was hella busy back when it was the only Bay Area location. We learned the hard way that the parking lot gets packed. Sometimes you'll get stuck in the super small lot because someone isn't even in a spot -- they just have their car parked with the hazards on while they run in to pick up their drink. Other times, cars are waiting and signaling for a parking spot while other cars are on standby waiting for people to leave after grabbing their drinks. The gas station behind the shop clearly got tired of it too because they put up a bunch of signs saying they'll tow if you park there just to visit Molly Tea. I highly recommend parking down the street near the apartment sidewalks or across the street and taking a little stroll to the store instead. Honestly, it just showed me that no matter how tiny the lot was, people still made the effort to slide through for drank. Fair warning though -- definitely expect to wait and chill. _______________________________________________________ --- S E R V I C E --- I will say, the staff handles the busyness pretty well. Lines are usually at or out the door, and they're receiving online orders simultaneously. There's another boba shop in the Bay that has a similar layout and process as Molly Tea, but that other chain feels like workers on an assembly line with deadpan faces. Ordering is pretty straightforward on their self-service kiosks. On this particular visit, I had their White Champaca Oolong Milk Tea with less ice and 30% sugar. Somehow, they always get it just right in terms of sweetness. The best part is the "three stack straw" which really brings out the taste of the tea. Drinks were being made and served to order minute by minute, and the overall wait time was ~ 15 minutes. While the seating here is comfortable and can be relaxing, make sure to plan ahead, as the sun can be quite the nuisance at the right angles!
