I had a good experience at Sumi Lash in Glendale! Booking online was super easy, and I appreciated receiving the text confirmations and appointment reminders. Finding a parking spot was a breeze since there is plenty of parking available. When you first walk in, the entrance layout is a bit confusing, but an employee immediately greeted me and guided me to put my name on the check-in kiosk. I waited about 15 minutes before my technician called me back. She showed me pictures to discuss the exact look I wanted and gave great recommendations on what would suit for my eyes. The application process took a little over an hour. Even though another employee approached my lash tech to talk while she was working on me, she stayed completely attentive and focused on my set. The final results are amazing! I took them on a trip to Maui where I was swimming and diving in the water. A week later, they still look completely full and intact. Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized that I wasn't satisfied with how my lashes looked underneath. I've been getting my lashes done by Freya Yang for nine visits now. I love the look! Makes my life so much easier to "roll out of bed" and still look like I've put effort into my appearance. I normally have very light blonde lashes so you can barely see them without mascara, but I just don't have the energy to put on mascara every early morning before work. I stopped going here because the last time I came they had me booked/ accepted my appointment and then when I got there they told me I'd have to do something else because they stopped the style/ promo of what I came in for and I ended up paying way more than what I expected. I also had a coupon in my account that they didn't apply (have to specificically tell them even though it's sent to you) and by the time I came back again it was "expired" There's free parking here which is a plus & I genuinely loved coming here for a year. I was a loyal customer for 6 mos. I Made an appt for a Sunday morning because I needed lashes for a wedding in the same evening. The day before my appointment, they texted and called, looking for a confirmation of my appt during a span of 5hrs. I'm A flight attendant and I work long hours on the plane without having access to service and often times my phone. When I landed at 7pm the same day they called, they already canceled my appointment for the next day, and told me they were already booked up, leaving me scrambling to find another business to do last minute lashes. Tried calling/ texting as soon as they opened and they ignored! I've NEVER been late or not showed up for an appointment, even though they will charge their customers $25 for such offense. I've always been a hefty tipper and have always been punctual. I schedule appointments because I have a busy life and work a lot. This is NOT how you treat loyal customers! I normally don't write reviews but I am feeling pretty disappointed in my lashes I received here. First of all, I booked with Freya weeks before my appointment and a few days before, I got an email saying my booking changed without anyone calling me to notify me.. and I ended up with Dana. Freya ended up taking another customer so I assumed they prioritized a regular who booked last minute? Anyway I was flexible and ok with it even though I couldn't find any reviews of lashes by Dana. She was very sweet and kind, but I couldn't really communicate with her too well due to a language barrier. I liked the lashes they helped me select and was pretty happy walking out! But the retention was AWFUL. I've had extensions before and they've lasted at least 3 weeks. I don't have oily lids at all and took good care of them, cleaning very carefully and brushing them after. The pictures below show when I got them Vs after only 7 days. I also got charged more than they initially told me when I went in, but I just let it slide since I liked the lashes initially. Overall I'm a little dissatisfied with the quality of the work and retention on the lashes, especially the price it came at. read more
