I love coming here after a day of shopping at the nearby stores. The sushi is always fresh and service is amazing. Shoutout to the sushi chefs for being so personable and waitresses for the amazing service. This restaurant has become a staple in our family.

First timer! I had been wanting to try this place for a while and today i had some time to kill so i came in for a late lunch. First thing, who i presume is the owner, was behind the sushi counter making sushi. He politely greeted me and i like that he acknowledged it was not just me, but baby as well. He directed us towards a corner booth. I noticed this place is pretty clean and seems to be an authentic sushi restaurant. At 1pm they did have a decent crowd. The server came over promptly and took my order. I had the mixed tempura and the lunch sushi combo with a coke She came back with my drinks and a miso soup. I love miso soup and this is a good one. Not too salty and it separates when not stirred- a sign of good miso soup. Within about 7 minutes, she brought out my mixed tempura. It was light, airy and still crispy and the dipping sauce had that perfect flavor. When i was about half way down with the tempura she brought my sushi combo. EXTREMELY FRESH! The nigiri was perfectly proportioned. The California roll was equally as fresh. The difference between a good roll and a bad roll is the rice. The rice was fresh and soft. This place is a green flag in the best way possible. I think this will be my new sushi go to place.

Came during slower time around 3 pm. Service was good and the food is pretty on par with other sushi places. Overall, good experience. The place is clean and staff were friendly and helpful. The one surprise was my order came with larger than usual portion of wasabi!!! Love it. I ordered combination dinner with spicy tuna sushi rolls and mango chicken. Wish the deep fried chicken can be a little less doughy. Fresh good flavors. Favorite part was the salad sauce! Citrusy and sweet.

This is my go-to sushi spot by my house when I just want something simple and good. Nothing super fancy, but they do all the basics really well. The rolls are fresh, the portions are solid, and everything tastes consistent every time I come. It's perfect for when you're craving sushi without wanting to spend a ton or go somewhere super upscale. Service is always quick and easy too, which I like.

The customer service was good but my baked salmon roll was a disappointment. I normally go to omakase but today I tried summa sushi because I was at stater bros and it was right next to it. I looked at reviews and they were good so I ordered a baked salmon roll. First the printer wasn't working when I went to pick up my order so it wasn't ready when I arrived because they didn't know they received an online order. That was fine it wasn't that big of a deal, their customer service was still good that's why I gave 2 stars. The problem with my salmon roll was there was not salmon on top. There were thinly sliced slivers of salmon but it was all the dark fatty pieces that are left after slicing the skin off. I personally don't like the skin of the salmon nor do I like only eating the dark fatty pieces.

Decided to try based on the reviews. 24$ for a bento box with hardly any beef or chicken protein did not seem worth it. I also wasted 7$ on 2 pieces of salmon sushi that had a strong fishy smell when I opened the to go box... I didn't even try it.

Damnit!!!! I TRIED to give them a chance. It's been three years since I've been here and I thought I would give them a chance by doing to go. Last time I was here they rushed us out and took my wine before I was finished. This time, I get my food home and my roll has avocado peelings in it!! $80 for to go and this is what happens?? I really wanted it to be good but no luck.

Gave this place a try today, lunch specials were awesome not too busy and food was really good thank you Mary for excellent service. Will be back again!

Paid for a golden California roll and received a regular California roll, so be careful when ordering online.

I had a good experience at Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga). My family and I ordered about 12 dishes on…read moreour visit. The selection felt limited (mostly rolls, nigiri, and appetizers). The rolls came very saucy, and most plates had an aesthetic appearance. Personally, if I were to ever revisit this location, I'd only order the garlic noodles w/ shrimp & the nigiri. For this review, I will focus on the Lobster Tail Roll ($36), Gyoza ($14), and Monaka Ice Cream ($7). I arrived at Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) on Sunday (around 12:50PM). Parking is very easy. The lot is HUGE. I had a reservation for 1PM, but a reservation felt superfluous since the restaurant was VERY empty. Throughout the entire dining experience, I only noticed one other group arrive. Staff is the HIGHLIGHT! Staff (receipt says JoJo) was the MAIN superstar. JoJo charmed the table; JoJo maintained a professional, kind demeanor; and JoJo worked very hard. JoJo gave excellent recommendations, and JoJo maintained a friendly, bright smile throughout our visit. Regarding food, it felt inconsistent. The food in the beginning was plated elegantly and carefully. However, as time progressed, it felt like the kitchen was beginning to rush despite the lack of customers. Food arrived very slowly, and later plates looked a little splattered and untidy. Thankfully, most of the food was very good. It's a journey of texture, fresh ingredients, and light & bright flavors. The Lobster Tail Roll ($36) had fried lobster bits, asparagus, avocado, masago, eel sauce, and mayo. It tasted like a vegetable roll at times. The Gyoza ($14 - 6 Piece) was panfried with seasoned pork and vegetables. Tasty!! And the Monaka Ice Cream ($7) is tiny with Macaroon Shell and a small scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream. All in all, these dishes didn't feel special, but they were prepared well enough. On ambiance, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is very attractive. The location is dimly lit, very clean, and spacious. However, the music is awkward at times. There were moments where light, lovely music was playing... only for random yelling music to briefly appear... to then suddenly be replaced with a country-style song. It all felt surreal. I don't think it was intended, but I think their music playlist was accidentally switched to the wrong track. Overall, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is an interesting experience. Honestly, the only reason this review is "5 Stars" is because our waitress was EXEMPLARY. Although the ambiance and cooking staff was lackluster, the front of house is MAGIC. This is a not bad, pricey place. 4.5 out of 5

I had been wanting to try this place forever!!!…read more I made reservations online for us, and as things turned out, we were going to be about 15 minutes late for our reservation. I called to let them know and they were completely understanding! When we arrived, we were greeted and seated promptly. Waters were brought to the table quickly as well. The decor in this place is amazing! They were also playing really good music! We started with the combination carpaccio which was perfect because we each got to try the tuna, salmon and yellowtail. It was delicious! Then we ordered the Surf & Turf roll which is spicy crab and coconut shrimp, topped with seared Wagyu, truffle oil yuzu, and eel sauce--absolutely incredible! Next was the Kuwada roll which is crab, avocado and tempura flakes, topped with baked lobster, eel sauce, and masago. The presentation on this one was extraordinary--and the flavor was amazing! Finally we finished with the Shrimp Lover Roll which is crab shrimp tempura and cucumber, topped with shrimp, avocado, spicy mayo, and eel sauce--another winner! Jojo did an excellent job serving and clearing plates, as well as keeping our water filled! This place is a treasure and I can't wait to go back!

I find that sometimes places will overcompensate with adding different touches when it's not necessary. I would have liked if the course ended with tomago since thats what I am used to at more traditional places. We received complimentary cheesecake at the end one matcha and one yuzu. If you had to pick, I would definitely opt for the Matcha! - Ambiance: The vibe was casual, I felt like they welcomed you as you are. No need to dress up, the focus is on the food. The waitress was amazing and hilarious she always made sure that the sake didn't stop coming!
