10/10! My friend and I came here on a Wednesday night a little bit after work since we were craving all you can eat sushi! We were in the area for a work trip and found this place on yelp! When we arrived, although the small building and parking seems very quiet, tucked away on the street-- don't let it fool you when we walked in it was super busy! We placed our name down for two, but we were sat within less than 10 minutes at the sushi bar area! Of course, we did that all you can eat option and you get three rounds. Per our first round, we got the rainbow roll and spicy tuna roll. For me I feel like a rainbow roll is the perfect roll to determine if a sushi spot is good because you can taste the quality of the fish and the crab meat as well. Rainbow Roll: 5/5 Spicy Tuna: 5/5 Salmon nigiri: 5/5 Mackerel nigiri: 5/5 Tbh we ordered a lot and I can't remember all the rolls and nigiri but one thing I'd like to add is they had a no rice option! My husband and I visited Miyagi Sushi for the first time a few weeks ago and had high hopes based on their reviews and the traction they were gaining from social media. The food was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. We felt very uncomfortable and rushed whenever we tried to ask questions to the servers. They did not check on us unless we flagged them down and when we did get them to come over to us, they were ready to dash away after a few words without even letting us complete one thought. When I would try to ask another question, they seemed so irritated. Honestly, it didn't matter how good the food was, the service made me feel super unwelcome. The restaurant itself is an intimate space with several tables and a sushi bar to dine in. They have their own private, free parking lot for patrons to use. We came in for lunch on a weekday and they had a good flow of customers coming in and out during our visit. They ended up seating us at the sushi bar, so rolls came out quickly for us upon being prepared as they were directly handed to us from behind the sushi bar. Some standout items for us was the Seared Salmon (good sauce to complement the fish), the salmon carpaccio, volcano roll, and godzilla roll. The rolls were a little sauce heavy. Salmon teriyaki was delicious, tender, and not drowning in sauce/salt. Beef teriyaki is more like bulgogi. California rolls were a wonderfully nice size. Baked roll was delicious. Ambiance is fine, it's clean and orderly but that's about standard, decor and sushi bar is cool, suitable for a date or friends night. Service was atrocious. It took so long to get out our AYCE rounds, and our empty waters were only refilled if we waved someone over. Finally, the food. Are you kidding? How does this place have more than 3 stars. The rice ratio is awful, slivers of fish on hard tacks of dry chewy rice. Thin fish that they dress in sauce to mask the poor quality, flavorless fish. We got several rolls, salmon, tuna, shrimp, mackerel, we got so many things hoping it would be good. They dress them up nice so the pictures look good, but we often had crumbly broken pieces of fish on our nigiris which were awful. The best dish of the night? The Hummingbird is the must-try. Miyagi was making Hummingbirds before anyone else here, and although it may be imitated, it has not been matched. Be ready for tight quarters. This is not the place for someone who is claustrophobic or looking for an intimate date night. It's loud and busy and humming. There's usually a spot or two in the parking lot, but there'a also some street parking. Last point: It's a tough hood in San Bernardino. Don't be dissuaded by the hood. This place is phenomenal. It's a hole in the wall in SB but when I tell you it's some of the best if not the best sushi we have ever had. We've had some bougie spots in OC and other areas and they do not even compare. The pieces of the sushi are perfect. I hate it when the pieces are HUGE and you can only enjoy a limited amount of rolls. I highly highly recommend the following items and rolls, just trust me because we have been here a hundred times and you cannot go wrong with these. We've tried a few other rolls but come back to the same ones every time: Aloha, Vivi, I love salmon, 1985, 1995, crispy rice, Miyagi special. If you want a fried roll the rafaga is great as well. Also the tuna and salmon carpaccio are delicious. The takoyaki and vegetable tempura are great as well. I don't recommend the edamame, it was lacking flavor. Sushi tasted good and although not the absolute freshest compared to nicer establishments, still very good for the price of $37/person for AYCE. Inside is small and can get busy during peak meal times. Staff were nice and friendly. Private parking lot. Sketchy parking lot and also sketchy neighborhood but if you look past that, best sushi place in the IE. My only complaint is that the rice that comes in each piece of nigiri is soooo tiny! The food was just ok. Service was pretty good...outside of the manager. She was horrible and should set a better example being that she's management. She was not friendly or welcoming. After finishing our lunch, I asked for to-go boxes and a to-go cup. She had such a disgusted and stank look on her face...you would of thought we had just asked her to floss our teeth. Mind you, she never acknowledged us then returned with two small boxes and this old ass dirty/cloudy cup, and slammed it on the table then said, "we don't have to go cups, you can take this", with a NASTY attitude. We came on a busy Friday night and I was very impressed at how fast and diligent the staff was at giving good, efficient service. We sat at the bar and both got AYCE and the price was $35.95 a person. We have tried just about every ask you can eat sushi place from Rialto to Beaumont and we're excited to try Miyagi. What sets this place apart is how fresh the sushi is. It was delicious. A surprising order that I didn't expect to be as good as it was, was the wonton jalapeños. Simple but awesome. We tried their new options which was the ramen and spicy edamame. Both were great, though I wish the spicy edamame was spicier. The price was pretty much on par with other AYCE sushi in the inland empire. We will definitely be back due to the great food, good service, and fun ambiance. This was my first time trying Miyagis and the prices are reasonable it's $35 for all you can eat. We went at 4 pm on a Wednesday The food isn't super fresh. The restaurant was clean it is very close packed a small space inside the servers were quick and polite. I do appreciate the portions are smaller. Sometimes I feel like these all you can eat places give you so much food and then you can't taste anything else but personally, I felt like the salmon wasn't as fresh. We just love it here! Great service, cool ambience but we're here for the food! The seared escolar and salmon are probably our top choice EVERY SINGLE TIME! By now we've become very much acquainted with the chefs and we love chatting with them as they prepare our plates. The appetizers add a really nice touch. We always order AYCE and it includes appetizers and a wide selection of sushi including chef specialties. At the end you receive green tea or strawberry ice cream with your purchase. We come AT LEAST once a month and it's that rainbow sauce that keeps us coming back to those seared nigiri. Ugh I love this place. Food: great spot in IE for AYCE sushi. I personally think this place has good selection of sushi and rolls, keeps their fish relatively fresh. The roll portions are fairly sizeable, so try to space them out over the 3 rounds you are given. They do charge you extra if you have noticeable leftovers, which is reasonable, just be mindful of how much you can shove into your body. Also another fair warning, do NOT get the scallop sushi, it was small rubbery and dry, not the large sliced scallops that I had envisioned. Price: I went with friends for dinner AYCE sushi, I believe it was about $35 per person, came out to $85 for me and my boyfriend after tax and tip. Ambiance: many tables and seating inside, dimly lit, looked clean enough. Good for hangout spot with friends when you're in mood for sushi. Located in a little more shady part of San Bernardino neighborhood. Service: good, had no issues requesting certain things like water and utensils. They were prompt with the AYCE sushi menu sheet and getting the orders out to us. A few people recommended this restaurant to us after hearing that we love sushi. We made the drive and didn't worry too much when the streets started to look a little worrisome lol. The restaurant was easy to find and they had their own private parking lot. We were welcomed upon entering and were seated promptly. Dinner AYCE is about $35 per adult and kids were $18. My toddlers love sushi but don't eat enough to warrant getting AYCE so we ordered a couple shrimp nigiri and tempura shrimp. I was disappointed with how thin the shrimp was, but as thin as they were, they were very rubbery. I thought my kids were just playing around but when I bit into one they were in fact very chewy. I understand why people love this place and why people recommended it to us. You get a lot of choices for the price. They even have rice-less option (limit 1 order per person) and ramen! I am writing a fair review given that I understand there is always two different options for any given cuisine. And this is not the type I like, but let me explain. Most of you will understand this explanation especially in Southern California. If someone says, let's get "Mexican food" some may think Taco Bell or Del Taco or similar would fit that bill. Someone else would think that's not real Mexican food! Let's go to an "authentic Mexican restaurant" or at least as close as possible to authentic, right? Don't get me wrong I like both! So it's fair for me to say that there's also 2 different types of sushi restaurants, and this is one of them that's not really close to the authentic kind. But I'm not knocking it down! It is what most people would consider great when they think of sushi. As for me, I'm not really a fan of mayo and sauced out sushi. I like nigiri and sashimi, and unfortunately I didn't enjoy their nigiri as much as I had hoped for. AYCE sushi can be hit or miss, mostly hits from my experience. Miyagi Sushi is one of those rare delights in San Bernardino. Is it the best thing ever? No. But it's as good as it gets without treading into LA. So it's ayce, so order all that you can eat. The menu's a little extensive but that just means more options to try. But while we're on that topic, the scallop is probably a no go for me. It's dry and all around meh. The carpaccios are a solid option though. Everything else is per your preference.
