This place has such a cute summer vibe!! Owned by local family members and has amazing soups and sandwiches. We tried the garden grilled vegetable sandwich and chicken wrap. Both were amazing! Along with cream of mushroom soup! They served unlimited coffee which was great for morning brunch time. The place is kid and pet friendly.

Should have thought twice by the run down exterior of the restaurant. Prices were much higher than advertised online, $10 meals were $15 (updated your website). Meal came out in 5 minutes! Hash browns were wet & flavorless, I asked for extra crispy (there was no crisp). Things were clearly made ahead at time and the bottom line was not worth the money!

This place is just blooming with character and homeyness. I love all of the fresh flowers and original decor throughout the restaurant. Staff was very friendly and service was also quick. I tried their chicken salad and it was perfection with a slight crunch from the cashews and freshness from the sprouts. It comes with a cup of soup and I tried their cabbbage soup- which was the best thing. They serve 5 types of soup and I would've liked to try their other ones as well. I think their soup is the best thing on their menu. I also liked their fresh bread. I got a cookie for dessert and thought it was just ok, more crumbly than soft and chewy.

We were sat right away, coffee was great! I ordered a quiche, it came with warmed homemade applesauce & fruit. We also tried the cinnamon roll while we waited for our food! The restaurant looks like you are at your grandma house just sitting in the kitchen. Staff was nice & attentive!

Consistent food and friendly service. Eating here has been a spring and summer tradition for the past several years.

Love the look of this place: kindofa hippy flower cild vibe with antiques and flowers abound. Service : great. Lovely woman who's been there forever and knows everyone in the area. They do breakfast lunch and dinner, but we had breakfast there twice. We had the same dishes each time, because we liked them so much the first time: cherry French Toast and cherry pancakes. Both were excellent. Great coffee too. I'll be our go-to for breakfast next time we're in "The Door" . Maybe lunch too?

The service was great, they hovered the perfect amount. I ordered the Farm Skillet and it was the best skillet I've ever had, my boyfriend got the Ranchero Omelette and the salsa was delicious. We sat outside and the ambience of it all was very family friendly and adorable!

There's plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy, but they have lovely indoor seating as well. That takes you back and makes you feel like you are in someone's quaint little home! I'm obsessed with all of the cherry and harbor themed wallpapers. The breakfast here is delicious and filling and food came pretty quickly. We loved hearing the history behind the fish boil and watching it come to life at the Old Post Office Restaurant! The dinner and experience was very reasonably priced at $30 per person and they offer options of fried chicken or ribs for those that don't care for fish. I'm (personally) not a big fish lover but I had to at least try it and it wasn't too bad! Dinner is also served with 3 different types of bread and a slice of delicious cherry pie! (Cherries are grown all over the peninsula). We sat outside on the front porch and watched the sun slowly set and the sky fill up with brilliant colors as we finished our dinner. I left with both my belly and heart as full as possible! We enjoyed the restaurant so much that I wanted to stop by on our way out of town, the last day, and try out their breakfast menu. I splurged and ordered the fresh cherry pancakes with a side of one egg and bacon. I planned to just eat half of my pancakes but I almost devoured them completely! My mouth is watering - several days later - as I am thinking about them and writing this review. I highly recommend the Old Post Office if you are in the area. Unfortunately you have to call the restaurant to make reservations but it's definitely worth the little bit of extra effort.

Hot tip on getting in: send one person to check in at the front desk as early as you can in the morning to get your group added to the list because it's usually an hour to two hour wait for breakfast/brunch. While you're waiting, enjoy the Swedish delights in the gift shop, the enormous green lawn space and seating, walk around Sister Bay and of course admire the goats on the roof! Once you are in, enjoy the food, I'm never disappointed. Personally, I have to order the Swedish meatballs and Swedish pancakes combo every time to get a little bit of sweet and a little bit of savory and a full plate of delicious. I think it might be a little easier to get in for dinner and they have a great outdoor space for drinks, bites, and live music in the evenings! This is really a Sister Bay and Door County MUST stop. I recommend it to everyone!

Packed into this little restaurant is an artisan storefront, a gelato window, a bakery, and a sandwich place. Wanting to try a little bit of everything, we got their cheese charcuterie and an Italian grinder sandwich to share for 2. Stellar, all of it. There was a great variety of cheeses on the board, including a truffle cheese and some kind of herbed goat cheese (which were my favorites), plus a mini brie and a blue cheese (boy's favorites). The board came with a bag of fresh baked focaccia slices on the side to spread the cheese/jams on and it was soooo good. The sandwich had toasty, melted cheese on the roll plus a seasoned tomato/lettuce situation that tied together all the meats so well. Definitely a napkin-heavy meal. They have a water station inside to grab cups, and carry-out bags/containers by request. Theres seating outside only that wraps around the building. Half of it was shaded. We actually left to walk around and came back for the gelato. They were actively putting out new flavors as we watched, so if you are waiting for one in particular just ask! You can split any size between two flavors, so i did chocolate and strawberry sorbet, boy did chocolate and cherry. I loved his cherry, it was so fresh and tart. The chocolate was rich and fit super well with the fruit flavors. They let you taste beforehand too, and the cranberry was also a hit for me! I both wish this was open closer to me and grateful that it's far away. Id be spending a lot more money here if it was nearby. DEFINITELY give them a try!!!
