Found this place highly reviewed and after about 10 seconds of seeing photos of cheesy, stacked sandwiches and creamy gelato, we had to stop by. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Packed into this little restaurant is an artisan storefront, a gelato window, a bakery, and a sandwich place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Wanting to try a little bit of everything, we got their cheese charcuterie and an Italian grinder sandwich to share for 2. Stellar, all of it. There was a great variety of cheeses on the board, including a truffle cheese and some kind of herbed goat cheese (which were my favorites), plus a mini brie and a blue cheese (boy's favorites). The board came with a bag of fresh baked focaccia slices on the side to spread the cheese/jams on and it was soooo good. The sandwich had toasty, melted cheese on the roll plus a seasoned tomato/lettuce situation that tied together all the meats so well. Definitely a napkin-heavy meal. They have a water station inside to grab cups, and carry-out bags/containers by request. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Theres seating outside only that wraps around the building. Half of it was shaded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We actually left to walk around and came back for the gelato. They were actively putting out new flavors as we watched, so if you are waiting for one in particular just ask! You can split any size between two flavors, so i did chocolate and strawberry sorbet, boy did chocolate and cherry. I loved his cherry, it was so fresh and tart. The chocolate was rich and fit super well with the fruit flavors. They let you taste beforehand too, and the cranberry was also a hit for me! Stopped at Door County Creamery on our way out of Door County. Expect a long wait if you go around lunch time. Also expect to spend an arm and a leg for a sandwich..... All that to say, the sandwiches are yummy. Both David and I liked the Hot Honey sandwich most. It was incredibly flavorful with some nice heat to it. The goat cheese was delicious and added a nice creaminess to the sandwich. The Turkey Brie was fine but would skip next time. I wasn't a big fan of the flavor of the turkey and David didn't like the jam on it. The sandwiches were very filling and loaded perfectly with ingredients. read more

we went to the creamery for sandwiches and cookies and this place was amazing! we wanted to come back for every meal, but there were so many other good spots too! we shared 2 sandwiches between the 4 of us and it was the perfect amount, they were huge. such a cute little shop and highly recommend for a quick bite to eat while exploring sister bay. if you can order online during busy season, that is the way to go since it can take a while with all of the demand. read more

I will preface this review that this store is very cute with a lot of local products and from local companies...lots of goat soap, cute apparel, etc. They also sell ice cream. I was just going to put in an order for ice cream when the staff behind the counter were having their own conversation loudly about a topic that applied to me. I will not go into any specifics. It bothered me...so I just walked out. Please be aware of your customers and what you talk about in public especially when you are representing a company that makes most of their income in the summer time. I know a lot of younger population come up to door county in the summer for work but they also need to be respectful of how they represent themselves and the company they work for. read more

It's all about goat! There's a lot of ice cream in Door County. But our favorite WITHOUT A DOUBT is the gelato at Door County Creamery. If you're staying at the Dorr in Sister Bay, what could be more convenient than strolling over after dinner for a treat? Their gelato flavors are heaven! We were especially blown away by the Almond and Fig, the Olive Oil Sea Salt, and S'mores. They also have baked goods and breakfast foods (look to have some delicious breakfast sandwiches ready to go in the morning). Cute gifts can be purchased in store as well. You'll notice the goat on the signage, in plush form, and other goat products for purchase in this store (cheeses, soaps, etc). That's because the dairy products they sell are all products of their goat farm. The story is listed on their website. I love details like that! I think a lot of people do, so it's cool that they roll all that love for goats milk products into their final output and tell the customers all about it. read more

They even boasted of gluten free options. I was too full to try anything. That was until we spotted the cooler with the goats milk gelato. Did I say I was full? Okay, maybe I was mostly full. There were several flavors that I had a hard time choosing between. I had to try a Blueberry Sorbet Goats Milk Gelato though! It did not disappoint. It was refreshing and smooth. WOW. They knocked my socks off. I found this place before getting to Door County and it was on my list to visit, but I wasn't sure we'd make it. But we lucked out and found a spot in the evening at just the right time for ice cream eating. I hadn't realized that their ic cream was made of goat milk until a server at another restaurant where we ate mentioned it. They had about a ten flavors, several of which sounded interesting... I landed on the raspberry panna cotta since raspberry is my little one's favorite flavor. It is amongst the best ice cream I've ever had. It was so smooth, like frozen custard, and creamy. Delectable. The flavor was wonderful, and though the raspberry was strong it was not overpowering. The next day as we were leaving DC, my friend and I stopped here because I wanted to pick up some of the ice cream to head home. They had sandwiches so we picked up a couple and though we had different ones, we both agreed they were amongst the best sandwiches we'd ever had. I had the blackberry BLT, I think it was, and oh man was it amazing. From the bread to the greens to the savory-sweet combo it was simply excellent. In addition to the gelato, they have lots of souvenir and gift items like kitchen item, tshirts, books, and so on, as well as food, cheese, and other consumable items. I brought home four pints of the raspberry panna cotta, and it made it back ok. They had packed three of them for me there because there was only one remaining in their freezer, and the ones they packed were a little liquidy by the time we got home 4+ hours later, but the cooler and ice I'd packed them in helped and they went in the freezer immediately. My visit to Door County Creamery alone would make me consider another visit to DC--or at least move the needle--but luckily I think they may ship. read more

It was after the breakfast hour but the restaurant was still serving breakfast sandwiches and that is what we were looking for, breakfast. We ordered two bacon and egg sandwiches and grabbed a table outside to wait for our order. Nice options for breakfast sandwiches and indoor and outdoor seating available. The girl at the counter was not overly friendly but took our order and we paid and waited outside until we were texted that our order was ready. The sandwiches came with fruit that was pretty good (with the exception of the strawberries that were turning brown) and chips. Three of us were splitting the two sandwiches which was plenty of food. The major complaint and we did not address it due to being hungry and not wanting to have to wait for them to remake our sandwiches was that they served us the wrong sandwiches. We specifically asked for the bacon and egg since it was served on a croissant roll. Which is what we wanted. But our sandwiches came on a thicker bread that my friend could not eat due to stomach issues. Additionally, neither sandwich had an egg on it. So we had a huge hunk of cheese, bacon, the greens and sauce. It was OK but again not what we asked for. I was a bit distressed by the behavior of one of the workers. Behind the counter there was a tray of pastry, croissants, cookies, etc. As my friend was ordering I watched an employee stand in front of those baked items looking them over. She then handled one of the croissants to look at it, put it back down then took a cookie and walked away eating the cookie. And she did not have gloves on. That was a big distressing. Absolutely LOVED their gelato! I wanted to try so many of the flavors, but the one that I got did not disappoint (and I am sure that all are equally as delicious). I am so bummed because I didn't have it in me to also order their real food (i.e. the sandwiches) that I wanted to try, but I will have to save that for next time. The inside of the shop is also cute where you can get some Door County Creamery cheese to take home amongst other foods/gifts. If you have a love of goats, this is the place for you to visit. Earlier in the day we saw goats roaming around and then stumbled upon the is adorable ice cream and gelato shop. We had Various ice creams but really liked Door County Cheery and Ultimate Oreo. However if you can have just one then you have get Chocolate Raspberry Truffle.
