If I could give zero stars, I would. I went to Summer Nails and had a really disappointing experience. I told them multiple times that I wasn't a fan of the design and wasn't happy with how it looked, but they kept going anyway. The final result was sloppy, messy, and honestly rushed looking. The lines weren't clean at all, and the design just looked thrown together. On top of that, they were extremely rough with my cuticles and actually hurt them, which shouldn't ever happen during a nail appointment. I paid $50 for nails that I didn't like and that weren't done well, and then they tried to charge me extra just for the design. I've been to this store before but here are my reasons for leaving a bad review, for one I asked them to do the same nail design on my nails as they did 6 weeks ago and they said they didn't have any idea what I meant. I explained it over and over again then the entire process I was sitting there getting my nails done everyone of the employees were involved in a conversation and kept laughing and looking at me I'm positive they were talking about me. I saw a lot of bad reviews for this salon. I was skeptical going in, but the place I normally go was closed. They were fantastic. I'm not sure of the gentleman's name who did my pedicure, but he did wonderful. I got the reflexology pedicure and it was absolutely worth it. He took his time, was very attentive to my nails where painted them and even made sure they would be okay and applied some oil to protect the pedicure before I put my shoes back on. I normally do not leave reviews. BUT this Asian female was extremely rude to me . We called in to check if she had availability for a walk in, she told us "yes". We asked for the service we wanted and she said " yes" . We get there and she said " NO we don't do that" . I looked at her and said " that's not what you said on the phone" , then she repeats her self and tell us what she can do which was a pedi. We all agree to continue. This Asian female proceed to do my nails and I believe her husband did my sister in laws nails. ( He did an amazing job, his nail technique was amazing). Her on the other hand did HORRIBLE. There was nail polish on my skin ,the white nail polish was very chalky and she was in a rush (keep in mind the place is EMPTY) . I kindly with respect told this lady may you fix this. She huffed and puffed and proceed to clean it up. then again she tried placing more white nail polish on the polish that was already on making it look more chalky. I told the lady to stop this isn't looking how white nail polish should look and her husband looked at the work and with disappointment said "I can do it". I told him thanks but no thank you. I told him he did a good job on my sister in law nails. but she don't know how to do this. this ASAIN FEMALE SAID "YOUR SKIN AND HER SKIN IS NOT THE SAME ,YOUR SKIN IS UGLY" . I had been going to another nail salon but had thought I would try one closer to home. Found this one online and it is close to my house. I called and was happy they were able to get my daughter and I in right away. The salon seems very clean and the two people working there were very friendly. I had the gel dipped manicure and am very happy with how it turned out. The technician took the time to make sure my cuticles were trimmed before applying the gel, something the last place had not done. My daughter had tips and gel put on and her nails look great. They just do an okay job. I get dip on my nails & they have very few colors to choose from. You are required to make an appointment which is fine but after making an appointment you'll still be waiting a half an hour with two other customers in the shop. (I would understand if it were for social distancing reasons but just tell me to make my appointment at a different time ) they do an okay job & their price points are about standard. What made me stop coming back was the fact that you are charged 45+ dollars to do a dip manicure & they do no cuticle / nail bed care whatsoever. * also the one younger gentleman who works there smokes out front and then comes back in & does your nails. The smell is extremely offputting and very un-relaxing so just be aware of that. read more

I went today and i have nothing nice to say I asked for gel on my toes and they put regular when I mentioned it they said oh next time tell me he doesn't listen. My nails are awful they are way too thin she didn't cover my entire nail when putting on the product i will never go here again read more

Came in today because I saw their doors wide open. Nice and friendly staff. I was a little thrown off because the lady doing my nails said I needed to make an appointment next time. I was the only person in there for the hour and a half I was there. Made me feel a bit awkward. So my tip for you is make an appointment I guess. Also, they didn't have me pick out a color for toes. They just matched my toes to my fingernail color. (I didn't want the same color but was too shy to speak up) Overall good job! read more

The nails turned out okay but the wrong color was used, it took 2+ hours for my friend to even get started on her manicure, they weren't very gentle on either of our pedicures, and told us they couldn't do either of our designs. read more

Went in for a pedicure, I asked for the reflexology pedicure that includes an extra 10 minutes for massage. Barley got 2 minutes. I felt like they were rushing when the shop was empty. I left with my toe nails not filed evenly, almost every nail has barley any polish on them. I paid $60.00 for a regular pedicure basically. What a waste of money. I couldn't wait to get out of there. For the location of this place you would think it's just another nail place and the service would not be that great but they are incredible! I had acrylics put on and a pedicure. She suggested to me the dip powder for my nails and explained to me why it was better and why it lasts longer rather than just telling me as a way to upcharge me. They also took the time to get my ingrown toenails out which I tend to have a lot of. They used a machine to get rid of the calluses on the bottom of my feet which I liked a lot better and thought worked great. It is worth the extra $3 to get it done. I would highly recommend this place! I was also informed if you come here 5 times you get a $5 off coupon and they offer something as well for your birthday. Today was my birthday and I went to get my nails done but I just moved to St. Louis so I've never got my nails done here so I looked up online nail places and they said Summer nails was a very good place to go to so I went there and it was OK there's only one lady getting her nails done and I was three staff members and I was sitting there for at least 30 minutes until I got called over which was fine and then the guy did my cuticles and he used a drill and so he cut my skin on two different parts and made me bleed and then the lady did my painting in the acrylic and she also cut my thumb with a drill and then she wasn't doing a good job but I figured I'd give her the benefit of the doubt she put acrylic on Half the nail and she did it all the way in so I asked her to fix it and she act like it was a big convenience on her time and so then she did the paint job and it was not good but I was trying to be nice so I just mentioned that she fixed it to her ability and then I paid on the phone I called before and I asked how much it would be she said $25 but then when it was time to pay she said it was 50 so I just paid and left but also when they were putting stuff on they were getting it in my burner from the drill but which cut me so it was on fire the whole time so after live in nail salon my mom picked me up and I didn't wanna say anything and she said that they were not good so she called the place and we got $15 back because they were not worth $50 but the lady was very mad and saying that this is how nails look so I just would never go back there again because this is the worst place I've ever been to in my life! Plus one of the photos you can see that they left some of my previous and nail polish on my nails and it was my birthday and I had a party to go to I was just very upset read more

Summer Nails is excellent! Extremely clean inside and the girls and staff are so kind. I am 9 months pregnant and the salon did not smell like polish or chemicals-- making it perfect for fellow expectant mothers or young kids. The chandeliers, tufted chairs, and marble counters made the salon feel very spa like. I also really liked that the prices are moderate/low but upgrade in $5-$10 increments. I had a lovely experience here on a Monday evening. I called ahead to see if they were busy around 5:15 and was told to come right in. I was greeted by a very friendly nail tech and sat right away. Another nail tech got started on me and in a little less than an hour I had a beautiful, fresh full set! I got the dip powder and she did such a fantastic job. These ladies are the worst hair people I've ever had. I showed them a picture of a long haired haircut with nothing shaved at all and the lady looks at it and for some dumbfounding reason decides to shave everything but the front two inches of my head.
