Summerlin Upholstery is the best. I had all the upholstery redone on my patio couch with Sunbrella material and new firmer padding and it came out better than the original upholstery! I also had my barstools redone to match the custom pillows they made for my newly upholstered glider where they also put thicker more comfortable padding which made my glider more comfortable and inviting to sit by the pool and relax. My wife took a side chair that belonged to her late mother here to get reupholstered. She didn't know what she really wanted done so they made the effort and took the time to understand the chair's backstory, where her mom had it in their home, etc. That helped her hone in on what she wanted done to the chair. They even recommended a fabric that cost much less than what had been budgeted because they had extra material left over from a job! Most importantly, she loves the job they did. I highly recommend this business, I needed all our patio furniture cushions redone and they did a beautiful job..the fabric for the 11 "orange " cushions I picked out at the store and purchased from them at a reasonable cost . Rita in the office assisted with a fantastic selection of fabrics to choose from and she is truly a treasure to work with, super helpful, pleasant, efficient, and knowledgeable. We had a fantastic experience with Glen and the rest of the staff at Summerlin Upholstery Works. A few years ago we had a concrete fire pit and bench poured in the backyard and have been trying to get a cushion made for the bench ever since. Unfortunately, the bench is not a standard size, so a custom cushion needed to be made. We did not realize what a hassle it would be to locate a company to make this for us at a reasonable price. The only one we could find locally was Mr. Pool & Mrs. Patio and they wanted $2,300, so we kept putting it off. This year we did some research on outdoor fabrics and cushion materials and decided to take a different approach. We ordered the Subnbrella Outdoor Accord II Crimson fabric on fabric.com, made a template out of poster board and took it to Galaxy Foam (also a fantastic find, see review), then we took the fabric and foam to Summerlin Upholstery Works to assemble it for us. We learned that SUW could have actually ordered the fabric for us, but we already had it in hand. Glen was very knowledgeable and went through the whole process, offered suggestions, and showed us his workshop. We had bought the best outdoor fabric and foam, but he advised that adding a little Dacron (Polyethylene terephthalate) on top of the foam would give the cushions a little loft so they were not super flat. He also put a different fabric with a larger weave on the very bottom of the cushions so they drained faster if they got wet. This helps keep mildew and mold away, something we've had issues with on other outdoor furniture. Lastly, we asked for piping and some sort of tie downs so the cushions did not blow away. Glen showed us a great option for screw in snaps that has worked very well so far. The work was done in less than a week and we were only charged $180. So, the whole project cost less than $500. Doing a little research and leg work saved us almost $2,000! amazing! We liked their work very much and have even taken one of our leather sofa cushions in to get the topstich that had come loose repaired. They did the work the same day. I definitely would recommend them for anyone who needs upholstery work done. read more

I was immediately impressed because they came to my home to see the couch instead of providing a quote from pictures as the other 3 companies had. Also, I had a piano bench with legs that were loose. Very professional & knowledgeable. Scheduled a day to pick up & told me they would have it back the following afternoon. They brought it back on time as promised. Fast forward two months and the support beam caved in again. I called and they picked up the couch the next day, repaired it again with no additional charge and brought it back the very next day. I was impressed with this company and picked and ordered my fabrics for a sofa and bench from the very warm and friendly receptionist/fabric consultant. Unfortunately she was out on medical leave when my sofa and bench were to be upholstered so I then tried to contact the owner directly. That's when the disappointment came in. *Lack of communication. *My phone calls were not returned. * I had requested thicker cushions for ease of getting up (but surprised that the back cushions were also made thicker, not requested & then charged more for thicker cushions). *Sofa arms were to be padded differently but was not done and told they thought the original detailed arms looked better the way they were. Not my request. *Bench to be recovered was partially wood. Request was to refinish the wood at $135 but no apparent attention to sanding wood to a finished look but it is painted. *I was exceptionally patient about the extended time element for finishing and delivery of my furniture because their van broke down. *The actual upholstery work is very nice but I was so disappointed that there was no effort made to verify the requests I had made and when I questioned things the response was it wasn't written down so the results are not as I had envisioned. *I am a senior on a fixed income and not up to going through the hassle of sending things back to be redone so I will just live with the items the way they are for now. I just want to help others avoid the same mistakes. To the owner and customers: Communication is so important. It cost a lot to have things recovered so a clear understanding is so important and as much as I wanted to give this small business a high rating I just can't. So sorry. read more

I was told by a young woman they had a "sofa and a chair" waiting to be done in the work area and if I can come back in 3 weeks they might be able to get to it. No thanks. Had a leather sofa and two chairs. The sofa suffered the claws of a cat and was badly scarred. I brought one cushion to Glenn asked him to match the color as close as possible and this was cowhide leather. A week went by and he called and said he had some samples.
