When my insurance changed about 4 years ago, I switched to my wife's dentist and realized I had never had an EXCELLENT dentist like Dr. Nick and his staff. I've since had a filling and 2 old fallen-out crowns replaced, and the care has been both superb and affordable, with almost no waiting. All of their equipment is state-of-the-art (as far as I can tell), which probably speeds things up considerably, but it also feels like they value your time so the next person you need (hygienist, dentist, receptionist, etc.) is ready to go as soon as it's their turn up at the plate, though they explain everything thoroughly and don't rush you out, either. The entire experience is friendly, cost-conscious but not cheap, and seamless in a way that must take a ton of hard work and coordination behind the scenes. It's all very impressive and feels like a place where people enjoy their work because they do it so well. I've also never been pitched a bunch of products or procedures I didn't need. In fact, several times Dr. Nick or his associates have explained why I didn't need something in particular (like the anti-bacterial UV treatments ex-smokers sometimes need...the bacteria count didn't justify it for me). I don't write many reviews, but I also don't often run into an experience like that provided by Premier Smiles. My wife has perfect, toothpaste-model teeth, and I wish I'd come here a long time ago like she did so I would, too (and she'd stop showing them off all the time to make me jealous). I can't recommend Premier Smiles highly enough; the entire operation is truly remarkable.

I usually stick with the same Hygienist for this, as I am a creature of habit. Now... my last two cleaning sessions literally broke my heart. The ladies at the desk have ALWAYS been very kind to me, but on these last two occasions, it was as if... First, she all but snapped at me when I walked up to the desk, and then DEMANDED that I "pay first"... like they used to do to Denny's patrons back in the day (which REALLY made me uncomfortable) so, according to her, "...we can all get OUT of there and go home!". Then, my usual Hygienist was not available, and I wish they had told me this beforehand, and some other... person... did the cleaning, to the point that I can honestly say that she was DEFINITELY UNHAPPY with me!! I didn't know that a simple cleaning can HURT so badly!!! At any rate, I don't know what it was that I did wrong, or who I made angry enough to deserve this treatment, but I can take a hint. No more PAIN, please. I am sorry for whatever it was that I did wrong. I have never been treated like this, not even in the U.S. ARMY. :-(

I also appreciate Toothworx's reasonable wait time and availability of late afternoon and weekend appointments for working adults and school-age children. In the past few years that my family received care from Dr. Faye, she had earned my trust and respect. After she performed an initial evaluation, she recommended that I see an endodontist as soon as possible. My dental benefit for that year maxed out after seeing the specialist. Basically, she only got paid for preventative dental work during my first year with her. In order to maximize her earning potential, as soon as possible, she could have recommended that I do all the other work under general dentistry first. Besides, as a business owner, one never knows how long a new patient will stay to complete the recommended treatment plan. Because she was capable of correctly diagnosing a chronic tooth infection from my x-ray (which no other dentists in recent years prior to her had caught), she helped me solve and address a medical mystery. Because I experienced no pain from my problematic tooth, which already had a root canal, I did known the source of my infection. Nonetheless, the infection kept showing up in my annual blood & urine labs. Antibiotics did no lasting good. Dr. Faye is the dentist and owner for both Toothworx and iSmile (another highly reviewed dental office at Lakewood). My only complaint is that my dentist is too successful in serving the community and cannot physically be at both practices at the same time.
