I went to this office because I was in severe tooth pain. At my first visit, I was told I needed a root canal because the tooth had a filling and that I would also need to pay about $1,200 out of pocket for a crown because it was supposedly not covered by my insurance. I contacted my insurance company myself and arranged a conference call with the dental office. During that call, my insurance confirmed the crown WAS a covered benefit. They then scheduled me to come back the following week for the root canal. After starting the procedure and removing the old filling, the dentist suddenly told me the tooth was cracked and could not have a root canal after all, and instead needed to be extracted. My insurance also confirmed during the call that the extraction was covered. However, the office manager came into the room and told me they would not do the extraction unless I also paid out of pocket for bone graft material to fill the space after extraction. Because I would not agree to pay extra, they refused both the root canal and the extraction. The dentist placed a temporary filling and sent me home still in pain. I feel misled about what my insurance covered and pressured multiple times to pay unnecessary out-of-pocket costs. I left without treatment and still suffering. I will never return. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. read more

I came in for a deep cleaning and filling. It was honestly very smooth and I didn't feel much of anything and it went pretty fast. Dr. Chung took care of me and she was very gentle. Take it from someone who hasn't been consistent with going to the dentist since becoming an adult due to childhood dental trauma, Pure Cypress Dentist has eased all of my anxiety when it comes to dental work. They have excellent bedside manner, provide full financial transparency before procedures, and are so gentle and genuinely care for their patients. I came in after not seeing a dentist in 2 years and felt welcomed since the first follow up phone call. I needed quite a bit of work done (root canal, crown replacement, and a couple other crowns that were recommended by the dr) and could honestly say my experience there exceeded my expectations. Their whole staff makes you feel comfortable and safe and it really gives a strong family vibe. I've had to come back quite often to get all my dental work done and every single time I come back home and have a positive report back to my husband (who I also made an appointment for as well) 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist! Never, EVER, go to this dental office. Three years ago, I walked into their office and entered into $12k worth of work that has ALL been substandard. EVERY SINGLE PROCEDURE has ended up being a problem, including a bridge that was poorly cemented, came right out a week after it was set, then cemented again, just to break only 2 years later. The new bridge, which they made me pay for half (which was overpriced, I've since found out) was so poorly made, the back molar crown has zero anatomy to it, the prep was so bad it never completely covered my crowns. So today, I've just returned from the endodontist and I'm probably going to lose the molar, due to their incompetence...which will cost me thousands of dollars for an implant. In addition, every one of my veneers are the wrong shade, the one crown that WAS done right, I had to lose because of a poor root canal they did that now required an extraction and subsequent bridge. You might ask, "why did you go back?" I didn't understand how poor the work was until it was too late. You walk into a dental office assuming they know what they are doing...I cannot tell you how much I regret going to this dental practice. They are nice enough people in the office, and that gave me a false sense of security. I will be contacting the California Dental Association to file a complaint. read more

Left me with bubbles in four of my fillings. When I came back after getting them, I was told that the sensitivity is normal (it was intense cold sensitivity and couldn't chew even a banana) and to use sensodyne. Because of this, I have to get them redone elsewhere. I was told by my new dentist that they used a runny composite and did not do them right at all. Not sure which dentist did them but it was a young man. Either way I'm left with more issues and pain trying to get this corrected. I may have pulpitis because of the ongoing and dismissed irritation caused by the bubbles they left in my teeth. As for the office, things are dirty such as the glasses you wear when work is being done and the floor is uneven in the back and I almost fell because of it. read more

The overall experience was just fine, clean and friendly the X-ray was a bit uncomfortable but tolerable until talk about prices happened. Let's see, first of all I have Medi-Cal insurance and was told that in order to do the procedure is need $2,500 for a temporary device i'd only need for like 6 mos. Then for the permanent device that's like $8,000. If I had that kind of money would I be on Medi-Cal? So with that I'll tell you again I do NOT recommend Pure Cypress Dental! Only b/c of pricing. This was my first time at a dentist and I had to get all four of my wisdom teeth removed and I was terrified! THIS STAFF IS AMAZING! From the beginning Stephanie took my x-rays and was so patient with me being my first time and was very gentle! Donavan the assistant always made sure I was okay even when I was crying lol. He made sure I had time to process getting my teeth extracted and was very helpful with explaining the healing process!
