This place has gone downhill fast since Dr.Chu left. Dr.Manpreet Grewal is rude, talks down to patients when she thinks she is educating, makes several assumptions about patients. Most annoying of all cancels Friday appointments for "emergencies." Never make a Friday afternoon appointment better yet change dentist practice. After I said I was no longer going to be a patient she sent me bill $50 even though I always pay copay and services before leaving. Still waiting on getting my dental records. This place is shady. I had a scheduled dental appointment today at 10am. I arrive on time. My appointment was for a tissue check following a recent crown. When I checked in I was surpised with a co-payment. I inquired to why I had a co-pay because it was part of the crown deal. It was not. I gave a suggestion that it should be included, because now I am paying for an unexpected co-pay. I paid it. I sat down in the waiting room waiting to be called. I waited for 20 minutes, and I had yet to be called. The waiting room was not crowded. It was just me and one other customer, and I arrived first. I understand shit happens on occasion, but this is not my first issue with timely access. Eight out of ten times this dental practice will be behind, and then the patient has to wait longer than necessary. There was an occasion where I was waiting in the dental chair for 45 minutes, and informed the dental assistant that I will walk out if I'm not seen in the next five minutes. There were apologies and I was seen within a few minutes. Going back to today's patient experience, I walked out after waiting for 20 minutes. At 10:34am I received a miss call from the dental office. This is when they noticed I was missing from the waiting room. Time has value, and this establishment will steal your time as they stole many minutes of my time. Today was the last time, and I cut my co-pay as a loss. read more

I had a very positive experience at Cypress Plaza Dental Group. My old crown unexpectedly broke and Dr. Ellis and his team were able to see me right away. Dr. Ellis was very good at explaining the procedures he was completing, he was very gentle while repairing my damage (even the shot was painless), and his assistants (Brenda and Carla) helped ensure everything was completed seamlessly. These people have no sense of time. Every time I come in IM in here all day just sitting. When you make an appointment for 12 pm you shouldn't be waiting in the waiting room for 45 min. FYI: My son is now 17 years old and it has been almost 4 years since this review and he still has never had a cavity even after getting his braces off. So they did not pick up on a small cavity that the other dentist missed. read more

The dental staff are trade school graduates who have no clue how to properly clean your teeth. You have better luck at home with your own floss and water. The "weird" procedures I was referring to was the $350 laser light treatment your staff push on patients to quote "kill bacteria" which is the least bit effective and practically as useless as at home blue-light therapy. Very slow service. I was there for 2.5 hours just for a cleaning and touch up of a past cavity. I had a different dentist than what I've had for the past 8 years without explanation. The person who polished my teeth got paste all over my face. I didn't get to see the pictures of my X-rays like usual. So different from last the last time I was there. I have been going here for several years and they are amazing! The staff is very helpful and kind. Recently my children went to them for the first time. My 11 year old son has had many visits due to issues with his teeth. He has cried so many tears due to previous treatment from a prior dentist, those are the last tears I anticipate seeing from my son Dylan. He went in for a routine check-up with Dr. Toledo. He was definitely not excited and continued to remind me of the past dentist. I reassured him that it would be different. She did not disappoint! Dr. Toledo is absolutely the sweetest person! She walked him through each step of the procedure, taking time to ensure he understood what she was going to do. Cece, the dental assistant is also very kind and patient. When I fillled out the forms I stated that he was nervous, however; this could not have been further from the truth! He left feeling the most comfortable I have ever seen him. I don't write reviews typically but in this case I can't say thank you enough to Dr. Toledo for changing the way my son feels about the dentist office! High level care from this staff! It's a profit-oriented dental business, what do you expect? They need to make sure they make money first before providing the necessary service. Just verify and double check with your insurance provider what and how much your copay is before agreeing with a payment plan...that's all I'm saying. And...whatever the difference between their contract price with the insurance and their quoted price, make sure you don't end up paying for it. Ask in detail what's covered and what's not....chances are you will get a run around!!! or you'll get an attitude for rightfully asking. I was recommended Cypress Plaza dental by a friend. I have to say the staff was very accommodating and tentative to my needs. I am a super super busy person. They were able to schedule me the same day I needed treatment for pain in my teeth. Jessica who works at the front desk did an amazing job coordinating my treatment and making sure that I understood my co payments and break down of costs for each of the visits to treat my cavities. I have a rather sweet tooth and to top it off I am a freakin Carnivore! I love to eat meat and blood. I took my 87 year old mother last week for a check up. The staff was extremely helpful accommodating her since she is in a wheelchair. The Doctor was able to take out an infected tooth and attach another tooth to her plate. Everything went well. She was so happy the pain was gone and she could sleep again. First time with Dr Thanh Chu DDS He is very competent, kind and gentle. I had a crown which needed re-treatment I was recommend to dr David Kim DMD to retreat an infected root canal. He did a great job!!! Dr Thanh Chu DDS and his staff are very kind and competent a great 2nd visit. Dr Chu removed old crown and prepared the molar for the new Crown. Cypress Dental Group, you have lost my future business. Went to another orthodontic place down the street and was given one with no issues at all.
