3 months is how long they have been working on my truck for a tail light issue. Every time a new part comes in I have to schedule a new appointment a week out, even though they still have my truck! If the 1st appointment isn't finished, I shouldn't need to schedule a new one. Oh my truck is in pieces all over the shop, you will get to it some time next week? They did offer me a loaner car for a whole 4 days. 4 days out of 3 months is all they would cover. Absolutely ridiculous. Whatever you do, do NOT take your car here. It's nearly impossible to get anyone to call you back. After trying for days to talk to someone in the service department we finally succeeded by calling every 15 minutes until they agreed to talk to us. They charged us $600 to just "assess" the problem, slapping us with an invoice that includes hundreds of dollars of extra charges. The worst experience we've ever had a dealership by far. read more

We live in Summit County, and have always bought our cars in Denver because we had heard negative things about Summit Ford. When we were purchasing a Ranger in 2021, we couldn't even get Summit Ford to return our calls. When we finally got ahold of a salesperson, he wasn't interested in helping us find the Ranger we wanted, so we bought it in Longmont. But, when we needed the Ranger and our Mach-e serviced, we decided to try Summit Ford because of the convenience factor. Their service department has been awesome, both with some warranty claims and with annual maintenance on the Ranger. The service advisors, including Nate and Jaxson have been straightforward and honest, and scheduling service through their website is a breeze. So, when we decided to order a new Maverick in October, we decided to try their sales department by sending an inquiry via Ford's website. Within a few hours, Max returned the inquiry and we went in and ordered the truck. It was such a pleasant and simple experience - no surprises, no BS, no smoke and mirrors. We finished the deal within 30 minutes and the truck was ordered in Ford's system within a couple of hours after we left! The Manager, Chris, was also fantastic. They also made us a fair offer to purchase our Ranger, so we did that a few days later. Just the whole vibe there was relaxed and no typical "car dealership" nonsense! Clearly, they have made some changes in their sales department recently. Give Summit Ford a chance if you are in the market for a new car/truck or if you need service. They denied my warranty claim when my wheel basically fell off and had the same symptoms of a recall that exists on the other side of the vehicle, that others reported having the same problem as well(not on the recall side). They took 10 days to do a half hour diagnosis. They refused to give me a loaner. They barely communicated with me unless i reached out. They charged me for a part they did not have permission to install. They wrote down the wrong part number for my wheel on my estimate. They ordered parts from ford and they were lost in the mail, until i ordered my own and had it shipped to the dealer. They had my vehicle for 37 days. read more

October 1st was the day that Ford announced that it was enhancing the E car experience. Nonetheless, this dealer has completely dropped the ball on my Mach E. Over a month ago, a notice for "Electronic Drain Service Required" appeared on my dash. Two calls to the Service Dept were not returned. The GM did return my call, and told me he did not know what that meant and that they did not have an EV tech. He suggested I bring the car to Denver - a location so far from where I live that I probably couldn't get there and back on a charge. I called Ford Customer Service and spoke to someone on the EV desk. She did not know what the notice meant. I called the Finance guy, a truly helpful fella, and have not heard back from him. They sent me to Glenwood Springs Ford. I arrived at 8 am and was told the EV tech would look at my car at 3pm. I asked for a loaner. I was told they didn't have any available. My conclusion - DO NOT BUY A NEW TECHNOLOGY FROM AN OLD LINE COMPANY THAT DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IT'S SELLING. All of this confirms why the Germans, Japanese and Koreans have been cleaning Detroit's clock for fifty years. Good-bye and good riddance. read more

Took our 2013 Ford Exployer in for a recall service. The service department noticed bad brakes while looking over the vehicle. I was thankful of this. Brakes were last new at 66,000 miles and we currently had over 107,000 miles on the vehicle. Trista and Walker did some research after having difficulty determining what brake pads to put on the front. Apparently, a 2013 can have standard or heavy duty. The standard didn't work on our vehicle, so had to install the heavy-duty ones. Took some research but they did a great job, and the vehicle drives very smoothly. Wasn't cheap though! This said, the convenience of having the work done in Summit saved me from driving to Denver and getting a hotel. read more

We have an RV with a Ford chassis and E450 engine which had been acting up in the mountains and decided to stop in for advice or evaluation. The service guy got Chris, the tech to take a look. He brought his lap top out and hooked up. Nothing was showing up as amiss. So, he checked the transmission fluid and that was OK. So he asked me some questions about how I drive and discovered that I didn't know about a setting on the gear shift called Tow Trailer to be used for situations when the vehicle is being stressed. I was traveling and had to get some assistance with a overheating problem. I always get a quote for services, I was told 2 hours and labor rate of $125 My Invoice came out to $325 labor and $50 for Shop supplies. 2.6 hours and charged me $50 for someones uniforms. I was not expecting anything over this, without calling me or walking in the waiting area and telling me otherwise. During my checkout. I noticed a $50 CHARGE FOR SHOP SUPPLIES. They said this is on every ticket, like the DOC fee when you buy a new car, except this $50 fee is to cover employee uniforms, etc. WHAT A RIP OFF, not to say, 2 hours plus our Shop fee of $50 on all tickets. reason, they don't tell you until they are charging your card, I would have left before. Bad enough paying 125.00 dollars an hour, and them sneaking in another $50 fee to rent uniforms for their employees, and shop cleaners, I should not have to pay an additional fee unless it it disclosed. Best bet, find an independent dealer to work on your Ford. read more

Since speaking with the powers that be at Summit Ford I think a review update is in order! They offered to pay to have my rotors resurfaced since they were warped from the lot. This was very nice of them considering I bought the car as-is. Unfortunately this only helped the warp a little bit (if any)..so really the rotor needs to be replaced. It isnt that bad and there is plenty of life left on the pads so I will wait to DIY the brakes myself in the future I suppose. Their communication about all of this was spot on and I was also assured that some of my other issues related to the negotiation/buying process would be addressed since those kinds of things shouldnt happen there. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. If you pay for vehicle with your own financing or cash they don't want to deal with you. They make their money by using their financing places. Especially don't use them if your out of state. U have to file your own taxes with your state and get your own plates, even though I paid them to do it. I had to call them to find out where the plates were. They said they have to mail me a check for the money I gave them and do it myself. I had an excellent experience when I actually got to Summit Ford. Stephanie was very helpful and did not pressure me at all. The deal I received for my brand new Ford Edge was better than anything I expected! I originally searched for cars online and submitted an online request for information. I heard from Stephanie within one day and set up a time to view the cars I was interested in. Unfortunately, I was deluged with 3 or more calls daily after that, asking me if I wanted to set an appointment to see some cars. Each time I explained that I had already done so and requested no more calls as I often work nights and sleep during the day. Long story short. We have a 2013 Focus with the dct issue. We took it in to summit for warranty repair which should have included new clutches, new seals, etc. Keep in mind that the car worked perfectly aside from a slight shudder after hours of driving. After they did the repair, it started leaking trans fluid to the point that it drips on the garage floor now, which it never did before, transmission now slips badly, much worse than before, they tore at least one motor mount and tried to get out of replacing it, they broke many clips that secure wiring and hoses, and overfilled the tranmission by almost 2 quarts. Duane and Chris were extremely rude and arrogant saying none of this was thier fault. Our warranty is expired now and we have fought this dealer for over 2 months on this. They basically ruined a perfectly good, meticulously maintained, 34000 mile, garage kept vehicle. The vehicle still leaks, transmission slips, there is a vibration just above idle. Do not use these guys unless you want headaches. They should not be in business. I contacted ford corp as well, they are not able to help. I have everything documented extremely well and could probably take them to court, however its not worth the effort as i don't want them touching our car again at this point. read more

My family was traveling west through Colorado recently when we had an overheating issue with our car. Decided it was best to stop into the dealership we spotted from the highway, before any damage was done to the engine. The service department was extremely busy (It was obvious from the parking lot and service drive that they were jam-packed with work). But, Jay somehow made time to get our vehicle inspected even though the shop technicians were scheduled three weeks out. The overheating problem was a relatively easy fix. We stayed one night in a local hotel while parts were ordered and found ourselves back on the road the very next afternoon. The repair price was fair and we were very thankful for the fast service. The upfront service was great, however the service to fix my vehicle was bit pricey and over charged. I should've just bought my own tools, and ordered the parts myself to fix. I wasn't in Silverthorne the time my truck was being worked on. They tried to talk me into buying new batteries, although the ones were on warranty. They continued to try and push the sale, until someone from NaPa was able to help me out, with delivering a new set of batteries. Summit ford charged me $150/battery, just to change them out. After paying a pricey bill, and hoping things were fixed the next morning the exact same issue was wrong. Ford said they couldn't see me for another week. I changed out a $20 part and fixed it myself (finally had my tools). I wish I had my tools before it would've saved me over $1000, on a pointless fix. read more
